[OOC] The Technology Planet - Frixion Prime - Open

As though the physical opposite of the magic world, Ecetopia, Frixion Prime astounds the skies with it's many technological achievements. A terraformed world, that was once the twin of Ecetopia, it is now covered in skyscrapers, the skies filled with ships that soar the skies, and many other advancements. The lifeforms here are considered alien by the old world, but much more diverse than ever imagined. In size and intellect, in culture, and societal segregation. They also boast a large artificial intelligence population, many of which are completely robotic. Technology used here is always subject to an upgrade, as advances occur everyday.

Here, the alien in charge, rules with an iron fist. A tech mogul who came from off world as a unwanted, smuggled child, found a home in a world where magic did not exist, but science, math, and reason did. Society here revolves around contribution, with those with lesser or mundane invention live in the slum, while those with almost supernatural like intellect and marvel, as well as proper political movement, stand at the top.

Magic here is not shunned, but considered almost inferior to technology, and those that are versed in it are used to promote technology over it.

Surprised he'd want my gun when he already has a gun that blows tanks up. He doesn't seem aware of the biorobe being an actual living thing though. (Not that it is harder to circumvent, but it could lead to weirdness in a pickpocket attempt when you realize that 'pocket' is actually an orifice)

I know we're making this up as we go along, but going by the 1100 [generic scifi units] to $60 ratio I mentioned earlier, Giggles was charging ~$20 for a few hours of service. All good though.

As far as weapons went, this one was, quite unmistakably, shit. [...] Giggles wouldn't trust it to kill himself if he put it in his own mouth.

The FAR-Cat isn't a normal weapon and can't be used in the same way. In terms of actual guns, Giggles is currently down to a glorified peashooter with aerosol deodorant for powder. He's definitely not going to pickpocket someone who's actually armed.

I just figured that this is a higher standard environment than well, where Borulama comes from so stuff is pricier here. 20$ in Saukila could get you a week's worth of food (maybe more if you know how to farm the little critters they like to sell in a alleyway) while here it probably just gets you a day's worth.

Well that'd be a retcon since initially it was like Giggles didn't like the Mogul, but had nothing personal on him, now he has a assassination plot. I mean, if it was just your character that's fine but it seems Jace's does to for whatever reason.

Whatever not my problem, but I still need someone to make that media deal with so if the Mogul is killed whoever he has designated successor may be needed to make a deal with.

Sociopath, does your character have inventory check or did he just make an assumption that everyone was armed?

For a single adventure? That is a far cry from likely success. You might wish to gain a few more players before thinking to challenge someone of that influence or power over an entire world. I advocate putting a bit more planning into it and certainly finding others to accompany you.

Think of how advanced modern counter-terrorist tactics are, and then add some two hundred years worth of tech development to that, except for a ruling faction with a planet's resources instead of a single nation's. We're well past the days of Lee Harvey Oswald, here. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also consider: Given the setting, there are probably hundreds of people with more money, patience and organisation trying to do the same thing, but without success. For our straggly little band to actually succeed, they'd have to outperform basically the whole planet.
