<sub>This RP will be based on Boku no Hero Academia, but instead of aspiring heroes, you'll be taking the role of villains, criminals, outlaws, or whatever you wish to call them. Although somewhat guided at first, my reigns over the flow of the RP will slowly loosen as the characters develop their own goals. Ideally, we'll reach something similar to a sandbox-like setting where you'll be able to pursue whatever you wish with me simply responding accordingly to your requests or the scenarios you give me to work with.





Before I go any further, I just wanna point out that I'll be using ideas and tropes from other series, but only those that would appear appropriate to the setting we will be going for. Injuries and death will be possibilities, to make actions more well thought of. I think incorporating some sort of realism in the RP would be fun too. I just wanted to inform you guys that I'll be making use of information from the manga; those who only follow the anime might be spoiled. I won't be blatantly stating these facts out. So unless its actually mentioned, I don't think you'll even realize that you had actually read spoilers already.</sub>

The world has become a superhuman society, and about majority of its population now possess some kind of special trait. However, all men are not created equal. That's the sad truth, and you just happened to be unfortunate enough to have discovered and experienced this harsh reality firsthand.

Being quirkless definitely sucks, but you no longer have to suffer or tolerate such a life. It came in various mediums of social media and print, but regardless, what mattered was the content of the message that you had just received. In plain black text, it stated:

"Right now, you're a person with potential and boundless talent; I can give you what you've always longed for. This is a chance that comes but once in a lifetime. I suggest you take it."

Following it, were coordinates, time, and a date. Who it was from and where this could lead you to? You had absolutely no idea. But given how your life is now, would you really pass up such an opportunity?

Welcome!

If what I wrote up was a bit vague or just really unclear, my bad. The gist of the plot is that everyone starts of as quirkless and the message you received implies that whoever sent it, can provide you with a remedy to this specific dilemma. The initial arc we'll be having will be focused on how you're going to acquire your quirk, your response to receiving it along with how you decide to deal with it, and lastly, how it'll affect your life. From there, the story will progress depending on the choices each one of you are going to make and how its going influence the overall plot.

The story will be taking place in the same setting as the series, but in an alternative universe where none of the canon characters exists. We'll be using a similar timeline as well, but without the character-specific events.

Some Memos

You’ll notice in the template that I’ve included several questions and instruction-like statements within it. I’d like everyone to fill up the character sheet as if it were an IC Post for the RP and your character was asked to answer these questions. This’ll give me a brief overview of your character and what they’re like.

This is BNHA, not One Piece or Naruto. When making a quirk, make sure it’s something you can realistically expect to see in the series. These are not super powers, but physiological capabilities of one’s body. For reference, as far as it’s been shown, Endeavor only has a basic fire-type quirk, but is still ranked second among professional heroes. Your quirk should be unique, not all powerful.

Quirks are viewed as extensions/aspects of the user's body, with appropriate drawback. Note that elemental powers are also exceedingly rare, and typically come with severe drawbacks. Notice how Kaminari is treated as exceptionally powerful despite his ridiculous drawback, and Todorok/Inasa are considered rare cases who are top tier as a result. Even then Todoroki has a low limit on how long he can repeatedly use ice/fire before alternating.

Also note, that among the entire cast of series, we have only two characters with distinct backgrounds in martial arts; Ojiro and Kendou. Even physical and agility powerhouses like Kirishima, Satou or Tsuyu never are shown to be martial artist or shown any techniques associated with it. Even Eraserhead, with his outstanding capabilities in close quarters, was leaning towards a freestyle way of fighting rather than a specific martial art. Not everyone is a martial artist for logical reasons, so if your character does use martial arts, make sure it benefits your quirk in some way. Do not slap on a martial art just because.

Can't be helped then. Eh... I'm Kinpachi Tomomi. If ya translate my name, you get something like Beautiful Friend with 8 pieces of gold! HA HA HA! My family ain't that rich, but I sure am beautiful, ain't I? Uh... What else? Well, I'm a girl as you can see, and just about reaching 16 I think."

"GA HA HA! You can't just ask that sort of question and expect an honest answer ya know? Hmm, I like to think of myself as the stoic sort of girl, facing down injustice, but that ain't so. I'm just a regular girl you'd find anywhere, don't like tedious stuff, passionate about things I love. Oh, I heard those other kids call me some quirkless tomboy before. That may be true, but I still beat them up coz they were trying to put me down. You don't let that happen to you. Not in this world where people like me gets trampled upon. Hahaha~ Don't even bother trying to make excuses there, old man, you're not a quirkless, you don't have the whole world thinking you're trash. Hey, what can we do? The world is what it is, and not even the top heroes can change it. Not that any of them tried of course, people with quirks couldn't care less about us."

[BACKGROUND]

"My past huh? There's nothing really special there you know? Like most everyone, I was excited for my quirk to manifest. Nothing special happened before then, stop asking. It was just me running around my parent's house. So I was excited for my quirk, before they told me I was quirkless. It ain't really an earth shattering thing to me, it was more like 'Oh'. In a way I was kinda relieved? There was that sort of tension you see, when you don't know what you will get. Will I get some sort of shitty power? Will I mutate into a fish? My mother could make leaves spin around, and father could make any sort of blade or bladed weapon cut through anything like butter, so I had sleepless nights of me just slicing things apart with leaves. Ain't pretty. So I know I was quirkless and stuff, and I went 'Oh so that's it huh?'."

"It doesn't end there though, coz while I didn't mind so much, there are others who cares greatly. My friends soon started abandoning me coz I was quirkless — yeah, some friend right? — so I just shrugged and continued on. Ain't my problem if all they see is me being quirkless. I made friends with much better people after that. But when they started trying to bully me, to put me down just coz I had no quirk, hoo boy, I went ballistic. Not immediately mind you, they caught me alone at first, when I wasn't expecting that sort of thing. Funny how people change. So I came back the next day, and beat them up one by one with a bat. HA HA HA~ They can flaunt their quirk all they like, but a bat to the stomach will take them down like any other people. Err.. You won't tell anyone this right? Well, they kinda ganged up on me the next day, but I was prepared then. I still got beat up though, but they didn't try much more after that, not when I gave them as good as I got. Something like 'a mere Quirkless giving them a hard time' and stuff. Well, I didn't have much trouble with people like those anymore, but there are still people who try you know? Especially those thug wannabes. But hey, I got more time to focus on my clubs now. What? Oh my reaction to the message I received? Well frankly speaking I thought someone from my class was messing with me. Even brought along my bat! HA HA HA~ What do you mean? It sounds like one of those trick email you get don't it? Boundless potential and all that stuff. Oh. Because I am curious now."

"Oi, you messing with me? I don't have a quirk remember? Jeez, be more mindful of people. My capabilities huh? Well I like to think I can fight well, but I think its just because I'm too stubborn to stay down, ha ha ha~. Don't mean I'm a slouch at physical stuff though, I can pitch a mean knuckleball. Though frankly speaking, I'm just as fit as anyone on the baseball team, or the swimclub for that matter. Oh no, I'm not in the baseball team, I'm in the swim club. I like to butt in every now and then, keep them on their toes ya know? Hmm, I can't really cook that well, my limits are rice and instant noodles unfortunately. Huh? No, not at all. I could join other clubs if I want, but I like the swim club. Geh, don't ask me about my test scores. About that? Of course I could. Can't steal bases without being quick on your feet, ha ha ha~. No not really, I tend to leave real battles alone. Only fights I've really been in are the ones where people try to bully me or when I need to get back on people. So no, I don't really have much battle experience."

"So this is my quirk huh? Well, I call it Single Action."

[DESCRIPTION]

"Hmm, how do I explain this. I don't get it myself, but uh, its like... Oh like that action and reaction thing. Like, picture every action in terms of trucks? Oi, bear with me here. So two trucks running at each other. Call one Action, and the other Reaction. Usually if you push a truck hard, the other truck will push back just as hard right? So what my Quirk do is to take one of the truck, and run it along the other one. So the end result is two trucks going one way, and no trucks to push back. Does that explain it well? Hey don't ask me, I don't even know what that means. Applications? Well uh, you know how a knife cuts? If I apply both trucks on the action of the knife cutting, I'm sure I can cut through an entire table without much trouble. On the other hand, if I apply both trucks on the reaction of whatever its cutting, its resistance, I can even make the knife break when trying to cut paper. Yeah, using its own force against it essentially."

[DRAWBACKS]

"Well, I can only do that on any one object I can touch. That includes me by the way. I can project it to a large area, but that kinda makes me feel nauseous. Not a fan of losing my lunch. I paid for it after all! HAHAHA~ Well, about the size of a bed, without discomfort. Any more than that and my insides start rumbling. But ah, it still applies to only one object that I can touch. Including me. Naturally. So this would be obvious, but just to be clear, since I am actively switching around the action and reaction trucks, I must be aware of the things I want to switch those trucks around. Hahaha~ Yeah, you could say it is limited by my own senses. Huh? Things like wind could be reversed I think, all that would do is make me not feel the wind blowing. Fire? Nah, I told you only things that I can touch right? Even things of firearms, as long as I am aware that it exists beforehand, I can just set myself to have both trucks on my resistance, my reaction, and the bullets won't harm me. No, even a machinegun fires a bullet one at a time, even if its very quickly. Now if there were two guns firing at the same time, I'd probably die from that hahaha~ One thing at a time remember?"

@GreenGoat Well, that was a fun read. And here I thought she was some kind loon based on her appearance. I guess she's just that outgoing. Fun read though.

Aside from All Might not existing, there isn't really that much need to edit. Her quirk on the other hand, just confused me. But before I ask you to help me out, let's see if I got what you were going for.

I know you're probably mentioning something about applied force, but I think it's more of being able to choose whether resistance within a certain exchange of actions is completely nullified or extremely enhanced. Right?

So if she bashes something with a shield, she could make the blow absolutely crushing. But if she uses it to block a car, she can just watch as the car gets wrecked once it collides with the shield? Don't worry, I'm pretty sure that these examples are a bit exaggerated.

"Introduce myself? Why would I need to... Fine. My name is Takigawa Kazuhiro. You can call me Kazu or whatever, I don't particularly care. As for my age, I just turned old enough to be able to drink legally in Japan. My gender? Are you blind? I am obviously male."

"If that's everything. I'm leaving. No? Fine. Get on with it."

[PERSONALITY]

"Why do you think I'm going to be able to respond to that correctly? Try? Alright, I'll certainly try. First off, I like to think myself as an energy conserving type of person. I don't like to waste my time with pointless conversation. I will talk if you engage me with this; however, I will respond with very short sentences. They call me rude, but I'm just trying to not waste my time. People often say I release the type of aura where you don't want to disturb me or else. It's quite true. Don't interact with me unless needed. If you're going to slide to me to ask 'what's up', you bet your ass I'm going to say whatever is literally on top of us."

"I prefer listening than talking. If people can yapper on beside me, then that is completely fine to me. It's how my friends deal with me. I'll say something when I feel the need to say something. If I'm silent, continue speaking or leave entirely. To be honest, I consider myself as a lazy person in terms of not wanting anything other than what I need or want to do. Arguing with other people? When it's pointless, I don't even try. When it's dragging too long, I prefer to stop. I have a very limited energy reservoir and if that depletes, I need to rest. No human interaction when I'm resting is ideal."

"I'm not heartless of course. I've got my soft spots like for my family and animals. Besides, my tone might be flat for most of the time but this doesn't mean that I can't feel something other than irritation and annoyance. Ah, but... I suppose...you'd just have to find out."

[BACKGROUND]

"My... past? I try not to think about it too much but if you must know then I'll suppose I'll have to tell you. To start off, I was the only one in class who didn't get a Quirk. You know what that means right? Kid's Quirkless, bully him. So I was. They felt like they were superior. I fought back before, tried to prove that I'm better at them. I learned how to fight somewhat back then. But I always kept getting beaten down. What did I expect? They have cool powers and I had what? My body? I don't know when I stopped fighting back, but I did. They weren't worth my energy anymore. I just accepted the hits. You'll probably say, why didn't I tell on them? I did, and it didn't work. When your classmates acted like goody-two-shoes when the adults are around, it usually didn't work. They just thought I was jealous of them or something like that so they left it be. They were a bunch of words I cannot say in this interview I assume."

"Middle School was the same. Highschool was better. At least there were other Quirkless people with me so there wasn't much bullying... I've had some friends. Of course, there was still some bullying but it doesn't affect me as much. I worked as a fast food restaurant cook as my part-time job. Ah, I forgot to mention that I live with a single mother yeah? Well, my father left my mother when I was really young. I also have a younger sister named Ena. She has a Quirk, by the way, but I love her nonetheless. Anyway, I worked part-time job because my mom is having trouble with financing both my sister and I's education so I tried my best."

"I didn't go to college because my mother got sick so she's only recommended to go to one job. I became a full-time cook for a fast food chain at first but now I'm cooking at a family restaurant but I also deal with deliveries since I'm just an assistant cook. I get to keep the motorcycle and they pay for the gas when I'm on deliveries. It pays a lot better too. But I think I can do something more. After all, I have to half-pay for the bills and take care of our pets. I didn't tell you about our pets too? My sister likes taking strays in so we have two Ragdoll cats, one German Shepherd, and one Shiba Inu. Actually they're not strays but more like the other families gave them off by leaving them so Ena took them all in. They're sweet though so it's worth it. Their names, respectively, are Luri, Ruri, Ryo and Kyo."

"As you can tell, I'm excellent at cooking. I like experimenting around the kitchen. My family and I are apparently gifted with working with animals, but I don't know if you can consider that a talent or something. I'm multilingual - English, Japanese, Filipino and some Korean. I think it's probably because I read a lot. I learned a lot in the streets. Streetfighting was one of them though I'm nowhere near the level of those who fight daily. You could call it self-defense. I'm a pretty good photographer and I have this camera my friend gave to me. It's a pretty old camera though but it's fine."

"I call it Gateway. Not really big on names."

"It basically acts like a portal. I can open up a portal from one place to another as long as I have a visual of that place. Anything can pass through this portal so you can see an image of the place the portal opens up to. This allows for instantaneous transport from one point to another. I can expand it as big as I want, if I'm not mistaken, as long as it fits within the wall I'm putting it on."

[DRAWBACKS]

"Oh boy, let's see here... First off, all the portals have to be made on a solid object. Say on a wall, or the floor... so I can't project it on an empty space. Definitely not. Anyone can pass through the portal, obviously, so that can be a downside. I also need a clear visual on where I should place the portal. If I can remember it clearly, say like my house, I can open a portal. However, it is most effective when I'm looking at it at present time or if there's a photograph. Keeping it up for more than ten minutes is really hard where I get really dizzy, shorter if it's big enough to fits more than five people at the same time. I pass out if it's too long."

@GreenGoat Aye. I'm trying to stay away from the canon characters. When left with no choice, I don't think I can RP them that well.

The quirk's really powerful, but given their origins, I suppose it's cool.

@Polaris North This interview is turning out better than I had expected. Even Kazu's laziness and dislike of talking for prolong periods seemed fun.

For his quirk, nothing really needs changing. Just curious about the need of solid objects to put his portals on. Would a piece of paper or a shirt be enough? If so, it'd be a small portal though.

Yeah he can put it up on a paper, but as you said, it would be small and wouldn't fit a human being. He can throw something in it though. Hey, you could shoot a bullet through the portal and be able to hit the mark.

"Genya Takeru. Seventeen, according to my birth certificate. Male. But this vision granted to me by destiny transcends all of this, all of me. It encompasses centuries of righteous crusaders and selfless patriots trying to make the world a safer place. And I am sure that you contacting me is part of this divine plan."

[PERSONALITY]

"I don't recall much of my aimless self before the incident. I think I wasn't as scared as much back then. I was probably less cautious too. But now, I see clearly, and know that the world is full of horror. I cannot run from this fate though because I'm the only one who sees the truth and the only way we can stop this madness gripping us is by setting an example to these freaks the populace mistakenly worships as heroes. Hell, I should be worshiped by them instead as a true hero for I am the righteous blade sent to incise this cancer plaguing our world."

[BACKGROUND]

"Life was meaningless. My family had high expectations of brilliance and it never came. Not just with quirks, but with most things such as school grades, friends, financial habits, you name it. So I ran away when the pressure started mounting and found myself in bad company.

Six months ago, I was merely a gunrunner. Even in today's society, firearms are still sought after by crooks, and a guy like me who didn't warrant attention was perfect for the job. It paid well; certainly enough for me to not go on extended periods of hunger. Never again. But it all went south after that night. A bad call by my gang's lieutenant during an arms deal and the next thing I know, I have some supers on us and the guys we were selling to. I somehow escaped with the payment intact inside a briefcase but I couldn't say the same about the others, nor about the regional gang HQ either. Like I said, no one cares for the guy without a quirk... Regardless, curiosity took over my anxiety after the escape. If the amount was just right, I could quit my yakuza chapter and start a new life in another place far and away. So I opened it.

And it did give me a new life. Inside wasn't cash, but a pair of glasses tinted orange. With nothing much else to lose, I placed them on... I can't take them off. They show me things, the true form of man. And it's horrifying. I need to cleanse these lands from these monsters before they kill us all. The last six months I've been hunting the weaker ones, keeping them locked up in my old hideout's meatlocker. But don't worry, the old gang's all here too, helping me after I found them in hiding. They were even kind enough to let me borrow their blood to write you back since we never stocked up on ink. You should have heard them laugh when I told them that soon I was gonna get a quirk from a gracious benefactor. I don't think they'll be laughing much after I was done with them that night. Or doing much of anything, really. Heh."

"I might have handled guns for a living but I refuse to utilize them. I'm still as quick and crafty as ever on my feet though. Locks were never an issue as well, specially the kind you need to pick instead of the ones you need to smash off. Though with all the meat available, I've recently taken up carving with a knife. Shaping the canvas into a beautiful, unperverted form while they beg for mercy... How exhilarating. Hopefully, with enough practice, some of these pieces can be displayed for all the world to see in their lively form."

Dangerous, but creative. I'm okay with that. Last question, let's say an arm was left in the portal, would Kazu be able to close the portal or would the arm just get cut off? I'm not sure, but I think that's what Black Mist was going during the USJ Invasion.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. No, he wouldn't be able to close it. As long as someone is in that portal, he wouldn't be able to close it. Another weakness I suppose because you can drain him just by being stuck in that portal.

@WXer No offense to the rest, but this has been the funniest one yet. I was hoping for an eccentric to pop up. And this guy's probably as eccentric as you can get.

Even if I don't fully understand his quirk, I'm pretty it's as strange as he is. The only thing I got from it is that once he comes in physical contact with, either one's blood or an open would, he'll be able to show them...something. Probably illusions or hallucinations, but the chances of me being wrong is kinda high. Enlighten me, pls?

And I lied, I just thought of another question. Number of portals he can open at a time? I'm guessing no hard limit since it might vary. Ranging from multiple small ones to a single massive portal.

I was thinking that he can only open two portals at a time because that would link the two places. If he summons three portals, then it'll be all jumbled up and I don't know how to work around that.

With that sort of limit, it'll probably take a lot to strain Kazu then. We can work on increasing the number of portals later on.

By the way, you can post him in the character tab too. From here on, most of my questions are probably just gonna be about aesthetics and minor details. Like what the portals would look like?

@Scio Thanks, it was fun writing an absurd villain that is hardly redeemable. And you did get it right, his quirk makes it so that he can basically make people go mad by touching their blood, and making them see things differently than what they really are. The fear illusions would probably vary for each individual since everyone has different fears.

As well, it just so happens that he's also the victim of his own quirk at all times.

Well if he hasn't created a portal to pair one he has already created, it would just appear as this circle/oval/whatever shape he made it to be but still be see through. It'll have a black outline though.
