Ok yeah I see the contradictions I have made let me see if I can clear them up:

Because GUSP has basically taken over everything then they have control over the food, what the citizens eat, etc. However genes are only tampered and altered inside the program. What actually goes on- wow I need to think this stuff through even more. I feel like I posted a interest check too early in the development process, but if I were to improvise the program is used to find the new leaders of the society. To make sure only the best have the highest positions in GUSP. That, no matter how cliche it is to say, is what is advertised on the outside. Without giving away too much of the plot, the program is also a running experiment on people that- if it succeeds- GUSP wants to see in the world.

I feel like that makes no sense.

I think right now it is a matter of continuing to build the story to where it can be, which will take some time. Any and all ideas are welcome because right now this is turning into a group project lol.

@LemonadeVik I've got something? Why fourteen year olds? I'd imagine they're trying to get them young but puberty is just kicking into gear at that age. Any sort of bodily changes that the government might employ would only be evident one to two years following the procedure as their bodies change and mature. From a governmental perspective it isn't a problem but from an RPing one that's an awfully long time to wait for the action to kick off. Unless of course we're starting a ways into their enrolment in the program or the modifications are essentially aging up their bodies in addition to altering them.

I don't have any smart ideas at the moment. I'm over here giggling about GUSP. I justtt.hear this tiny voice in my head saying "gusp" instead of "gasp" and it's cracking me up.

Yeah the question of why so young has sort of been haunting me the past two days to be honest. And at this point I am all right with changing it to late high school, but I was going to start the plot right after the reconstruction and probably add some bs about how the body developed and matured during the two months the reconstruction was going on.

I just imagine Mario going up the stairs saying "gusp, gusp, gusp"
