The Academy: A school for Heroes and Villains

The world has always experienced the abnormal. The strange. The powerful. The downright Super. From mothers lifting cars off of kids, to Superman flying across the sky, to Batman combating the criminal underworld of Gotham City, to The flash moving faster than the eye can see, saving us from ourselves. To the villains, making the world interesting. Strange. Weird. And chaotic. Who is more memorable than The joker, unless it's his female counterpart, Harley Quinn.

Whatever the hero, or their villainous counterparts, the various battles, confrontations and damages to cities, civilians and worlds ended in a final confrontation, that nearly destroyed the Earth. Leaders of the Earth's nations decided that something had to be done. With groups (The avengers, Fantastic Four, Justice league, The Gotham City Sirens, Injustice League being among them), banding together to fix the situation for (and some of them would shudder at this) the greater good of all (After all, what’s the point of destroying your home, and killing everyone including yourselves?).

After many confrontations the situation was resolved and a peace was formed, one that would last a generation. A treaty was drawn up and everyone signed, knowing that that meant they would be retiring. Bruce Wayne formed an alliance with Lex Luther Charles Xavier and Tony Stark to form school, that was aimed at training their children, and children with super abilities, so that they knew better than they themselves, and wouldn’t hopefully end up destroying the world. Guiding them to learn from their own mistakes, the school is aimed at making better Heroes and yes, Villains, for the greater good.

The treaty took place a year ago, the school is only just opening, and the first year of intakes is coming in. Located just outside Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, the school covers a Wide range of land.

This roleplay takes place in an amalgamation of the Marvel and DC comics universes. All superheroes and villains that signed the treaty had to reveal their secret identities.

Schedule

Students generally have a free reign over what classes they can undertake, there is a wide range of classes available, taught by various superheroes and Villains of the past. For first years, there are two mandatory classes, these being Power development and Gym.

A typical first year schedule is as follows:

fifth period
sixth period

Once a week students will be expected to undertake Maths and English, these classes cannot be dropped, nor can Power Development and Gym.

For two weeks in first year there is also a class called Alias Creation, this is where students will create their own alias, and disguise, as well as discuss what it is they wish to do, with their normal lives. Students can also undertake a degree, if they are old enough, and have met the requirements for a high school diploma. There is a colleage attached to the school for this purpose, fully funded by Bruce Wayne, Lex Luthor, Tony Stark, and various beneficiaries.

Example of a Student Schedule:


This example is for my character, Phoebe. Students don’t need to take quite as many classes, however, Phoebe’s treating these classes as a bridging course to her University degree. It’s just to show how a schedule should be structured.

Please note, that Power Development, Gym, English and Maths cannot be changed, they are regularly schedule that way for all students.

Classes

Every student needs to choose carefully what classes they wish to take. During the first week, you are allowed to explore the classes, and find out what is a right fit for them, however at the end of the first week, schedules are locked, and cannot be changed barring special circumstances. There are counsellors ready at hand to discuss all students learning needs. Below, are the classes that you may undertake:

Core Subjects:
English = Clark Kent and Lois Lane

English is an essential class for all students, and is fully tailored to each student's needs and learning abilities

Math = Reed Richards

Mathematics is an essential class for all students, and is also fully tailored to each student's abilities, and is a requirement, for the simple fact that maths is everywhere in the world.

Both Maths and English are an essential class and it is a basic for every high school degree.

Phoebe always has an immediate impact on her surrounds. She is cheerful, laughs a lot and entertains with a blunt and earthy humor. She enjoys being the center of attention, however she is incredibly compassionate to her friends. She generally keeps her conversations energetic, showing a good dose of intelligence, enjoying both talking about something and then just going out and doing it. She often leaps before she looks, fixing up any mistakes she comes across as she goes along, rather than merely sitting idly, preparing contingencies and escape closes as she goes along.

Phoebe tends to make a habit out of risky behavior, living in the moment and then diving into action. The best way to describe her would be the eye of a storm. She enjoys drama, is full of passion and pleasure, not for emotional thrills but to stimulate her mind, to rapid-fire rational decisions when required.

Brief Biography:
Left in an orphange by her parents, Phoebe grew up thinking she was an orphan. When she turned five, her powers started to show, plants reacting to her mere presence, and so her mother reached out, sending her a letter explaining what was happening, and why, telling her just about everything.

Angry and hurt when she found out that she wasn't in fact an orphan, Phoebe spent a few years coming to terms with it. She spent many years wondering if her mother or father would come get her, not that she knew who he was.

As the civil war among heroes and villains broke out, Phoebe did what she could to protect those that had raised her, but there didn't seem to be any danger coming their way. When things began to calm down, some time later, Phoebe received an invitation to come to the Academy.

Everyone has a dark side. And some have a maniacal, psychopathic, schizophrenically mass-murdering entirely insane side.

Jerome has one goal and one goal only, and that is to be entertained. He is often restless, feeling bored with the simple humdrum of everyday life where others might be satisfied, Jerome always wants more. The simple structure, order and the like are a far cry from what he desires. He wants chaos. He needs it. He wants the anarchy to prove that the rest of the world is just as monstrous as he is at their core. Even this however is not enough.

Jerome needs to be challenged, he needs a rival, someone to challenge him, to give him purpose. He doesn't just need to win. There is no pleasure where there is no rivaraly. He needs so,some to match his intellect, to throw fists with an equal and above all, prove that that person is his toy.

Some people believe that Jerome is a psychopath, but this is not true. He feels emotions. His emotions maybe sick humour, or anger and occasional sadness when one of his plans doesn't go right, but he does feel genuine emotion. Even with his insanity however, he has a brilliant criminal mind. He is not only able to think up complicated schemes very quickly, and set up all the tools necessary to get these plans going, but he can also adjust them very quickly when he needs to.

Jerome doesn't do what he does for what he can get out of it-money, who needs money when you can just steal things, after all? No, Jerome does it for the simply exhilaration. For the passion, for the fire of simply feeling alive. He also has the opinion that why try if you're just going to give up? He has an attitude of just keep going. Things can be drastically against him, but he will never give up. After all, a little creativity can go a long way.

Jerome knows how to laugh. And he always seems to do a lot of that with his sister Carley, who he would do anything for. After all, she is his. He is rather possessive, and likes to think himself the leader of the two, doing whatever he feels like and doing it well, from crime to chaos.

Brief Biography:
Jerome was born, not alone, but with his sister. And what more could he have ever wanted? Who else could he have ever needed, then his sister Carley? Born to two of the wackiest parents in the world, Jerome led a life of pure indulgence. He never wanted for anything, and he always had Carley by his side.

Raised by the somewhat tamed-no treaty was ever going to keep Joker or Harley down truly-parents, Jerome and Carley nevertheless were raised in the spirit of... well, madness.

So, of course, when they got in trouble, they were given a choice, Arkham Asylum or The academy. Jerome, of course, chose the asylum-he knew just how to break free from there. As it turned out, it wasn't a choice. Forced to go to the academy, Jerome dreams of escaping, and causing as much chaos as he possibly can.
