In this RP, you play local exorcists in Seattle of the new step-site recently created to handle a recent surge of ghostly activity. This RP primarily focuses on exorcists down-time with in the step-site, and the missions they go on. Your characters will face ghosts, other mediums, and even some governmental bureaucracy.

Exorcists are tasked with protecting the citizens from ghosts, and to aid in maintaining law and order, in particular dealing with rogue mediums.
Mediums are provided free room and board at their local SEO branch step-site and are provided a reasonable allotment for their work, mostly but not entirely based on their license rank and time in service. Exorcist have a responsibility to follow a code of conduct while representing the SEO.
Bronze, Iron and Silver licensed mediums have no defined work-schedule, but are instead assigned tasks that must be completed before a deadline. In addition, Silver and sometimes Iron licensed mediums are expected to be react to emergencies as soon as possible.
As a licensed exorcist you are granted certain privileges to use your medium abilities, however the SEO reserves the right to monitor your use of power and take action if there is misconduct. The SEO is not responsible for any damages or injuries that occur when a medium uses their power in a way not officially sanctioned by the SEO.

When a young person experiences the death of a spiritually significant person or experience the death of many people in a small frame of time, they can potentially become a death-bounded person through an event known as a DBE (Death-binding event) Death-bounded persons have a limited sense of supernatural energy. The event that causes a death-bounded person to become a medium is know as “Reaching beyond the Veil”, and is often described in highly emotional terms that can vary from anger, despair, fear, or even happiness. This event can occur purposefully whenever a death-bounded person attempts to reach out into the spiritual world for the first time, or accidentally whenever a death-bounded person enters a place that has a heightened amount of spectral energy.
Mediums have a full sense of spectral energy, being able to easily detect it and they are able to influence it and ghosts using their force of will. In addition, moderately trained mediums often develop weak supernatural abilities such as minor telekinesis, minor pyrokinesis, and other abilities. Additional training can increase the degree of the power and control over their abilities.

The SEO (Spectral Energy Organization) is a multinational agency with representatives from the US, Canada, Brazil, Britain, France, Germany, Egypt, Japan, Australia, and South Korea. It was founded shortly after the formation of the UN. It is often called the partially derogatory term, “Spectral Corp”. The core leadership is known as the Central Authority and all members of the CA are elected from high ranking members of the SEO by the member states.
The SEO licenses all official exorcists within the listed countries, there are multiple tiers of licenses each with their own duties and privileges.

On this date, a group of medium terrorist known as, “The Hallowed Court” broke away from the SEO and unleashed many dangerous ghosts keep in containment and attempted but failed to destroyed the Independence Hall. This event is used by the SEO as justification for stricter rules about the conduit of mediums.
