Occupation: Full-time student at Darkwell Community College (Liberal Arts) | Part-time employee at "Darkwell Mocha", a cafe that many college students go to during their breaks.
Relationships: Caitlyn Sigbin: a regular at Darkwell Mocha, Wren's also seen her around at Darkwell Community College. She tries to give her a small smile every now and then, even if she hasn't had her coffee.
Jude Marshall: another regular at Darkwell Mocha. She thinks he's a swell enough guy, even though she doesn't know him that much.
Abilities: Metamorphosis- can turn into a "devilhound", which is some sort of lizard-like canine. In this form, she roughly stands at about four feet in height and seven feet at length. Unfortunately, she currently doesn't know about her so-called "power" yet.
White Magic- Wren will, at some point, be able to heal wounds to a certain degree.
Personality: While she may not seem like she is the most approachable person, she saves jokes and snarks for her friends. An otherwise serious and level-headed woman, Wren is rather mature for her age. If there's something at work that needs to get done, she'll do it without a second thought. However, despite trying her best to be as polite and friendly as she can, she abhors being taking advantage of or pushed around. She defends herself easily with a sharp tongue and even sharper glare, but only after she loses most of her patience-- or, if someone's being a smartass with her.
While the young woman is well-grounded and usually doesn't let her emotions get ahead of her, Wren is an expressive person. Her facial expressions reveal most of what she's thinking, no matter how hard she tries to hide her feelings. A tense smile may reveal that she's not truly pleased with the situation-- a playful glimmer in her glare shows that she's not really upset with someone. She curses herself for such a trait, due to the fact that being physically expressive makes an otherwise terrible liar.
Short Biography: Wren was born and raised in Darkwell; she's known the small city for all of her life. Ever since she was young, her parents made sure to make sure she got a proper education and had a good time at school. While her father and mother never went to college and instead spent most of their lives working in a family-owned restaurant, they wanted Wren to be something more than them. And so, they focused their free time on trying to help Wren with projects and homework. Their aid even continued when she was in high school-- if she needed help, her mother or father would always try to lend a hand, no matter how difficult it was.
It was obvious that, when Wren graduated high-school, her parents wanted her to spread her wings and move on to college. She didn't complain; at eighteen, she was more than willing to move out of their cramped apartment. With the help of her parents and Darkwell City Community College, she found an apartment that was big enough just for her. By the time the next college semester rolled about, she was ready to begin studying for a future career.
... Thing was, Wren wasn't really sure what she wanted to be. Nothing really interested her, no matter how many suggestions her friends or parents gave her. Doctor? The career path was too long. Nurse? She didn't want to be in charge of the well-being of the sickly. Teacher? Chef? There wasn't a single career choice that invigorated her with determination or passion. Instead of registering herself in a specific major, Wren decided to study liberal arts with the hopes of becoming interested in an actual field. She even found work in a local cafe in order to pay for her lodging. Things seem to be going alright, for now.
Occupation: Assistant Manager at the well-known Darkwell City Diner
Relationships: Caitlyn Sigbin: his co-worker at Darkwell City Diner. He doesn't think much of her, and just focuses on making sure she does a decent job in the workplace. If he has to be stern to get the point across with her, he will.
Personality: This young fellow isn't really the social butterfly; he spends much of his time hiding in his apartment and playing video games. Garrett doesn't really talk to anyone unless he absolutely feels like it or is forced into it. Cynical and sarcastic, he believes that he is the best at what he does and that his whole team should praise him when they win a game. When he loses, he blames everyone else. In other words, he is not known for taking responsibility for his follies.
Garrett is the exact opposite of a team player-- he prefers to do things on his own rather than working together with a group. This impacts both his lifestyle and his in game actions; he is the perfect definition of an assassin, roaming around and punishing those who have strayed too far from their team. A somewhat toxic person, Garrett is also known for being somewhat of a drunk. He spends much of his alone time drinking any type of alcoholic beverage, as long as he gets that "satisfying" buzzed feeling he adores so much.
Nevertheless, he works hard, making sure to keep a proper attitude in the diner.
Short Biography: Not many know the history of Garrett Fischermann; some say that he's lived with his alcoholic father for all of his life. Others say that his mother used to live with them until she got tired of her husband's antics and simply left, fleeing all the way to France to elope with a long distance lover. Not having a feminine figure in his life has left Garrett cold and uncaring, much like his father. He was always known as a poor student, doodling on a test instead of answering questions or picking fights with both bully and "nerd" alike. He truly believed he was the top dog of the neighborhood, and still does.
As Garrett grew older, his father and him became even more distant. They constantly argued, so much so that his father would threaten to bust his face in if he didn't respect him. While Garrett wasn't happy with the situation, he stuck around for a little while longer as he worked in Darkwell City Diner. He tried to avoid his father as much as he could, locking himself in his room as soon as he got home. Eventually, the era of tense peace came to an end. Garrett, having gotten home from an overnight shift, encountered his father in the small kitchen that they owned. He was drunk and angry, blaming Garrett for his wife's departure and saying that he did not want him around anymore. The young man struggled to withstand his father's harmful words as he promptly began to pack his things. It was when Garrett attempted to step around his father when he grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, slamming him against the wall and threatening to kill him. Of course, Garrett defended himself; he punched his father in the face, making him release his hold and fall to the ground. Before his dad could retaliate, he fled his home with as many items he could carry.
Garrett has been living with a roommate ever since. He's also worked his way up the ladders, earning the position of assistant manager in Darkwell City Diner.
Occupation: Employed at MacCready's Irish Pub as a bartender and general helper.
Relationships: Caitlyn Sigbin: Jude and Caitlyn's relationship started off a bit rocky, his private and reserved nature preventing any real bonding for awhile. However, their mutual love for their dogs and living arrangement has forced the two to bond and Jude can't say he hasn't enjoyed it. Cait has been the first real friend he can say he's ever really had beyond Charlie and he can't help but see her as the sister he's never had.
Garrett Fischermann: Beyond serving him a couple times Jude hasn't had much interaction with Garrett, but from what Caitlyns told him Jude is sure he wouldn't like him very much.
Wren Faulkner: Again, Jude doesn't know her very well but she serves his coffee so she might as well be the Virgin Mary herself.
Thomas McClellan: A fellow employee at MacCready's, Thomas is a fairly good foil to Jude. Where Jude is calm and reserved, Thomas is loud and excitable. If nothing else, he's a good drinking buddy but their relationship has progressed little past that.
Abilities: Jude didn't put much stock in the letter at first, but when tools he needed "just so happened" to show up next to him he started to take it a bit more seriously. He's found them to be pretty handy all around, just being able to have the tool he needs when he needs it. Even his flashier magic is pretty pragmatic, a small ball of flame he's able to summon at will. He's sure he could do more with it but he's a little wary of pushing it since he doesn't fully understand the breadth or limitations of his abilities.
Personality: Jude is a generally quiet man who doesn't bring a lot of attention to himself, preferring to stay out of the spotlight as much as he can help it. He's an honest sort and values the same in other people, viewing liars and cheats with a passionate disdain. While a dedicated worker and an all around amiable person in nature, he isn't without his own flaws. Jude is far too self-reliant for his own good, having lived nearly his entire life looking out for himself, that he doesn't know how to rely on others for support nor how to ask for it. In addition, he hasn't had any relationship beyond casual acquaintance beyond that of his dog Charlie and exploring the vulnerabilities of friendship, camaraderie, and something more isn't something he is equipped to handle.
Short Biography: Jude grew up not knowing his mom and a dad who could have cared less about his parental responsibilities. Until his sixteenth birthday Jude put up with it, childhood obedience turning to rebellion in an effort to get the old man to even acknowledge him. A fight broke out between father and son which ended with bruises, words that couldn't be taken back, and a scar across Jude's forehead. That night Jude left, taking his dog Charlie with him and never looking back.
Time moved on, Jude supporting himself by taking odd jobs and the occasional petty thievery. Walking from place eventually turned to riding across the country on a motorcycle, his world being the road, the sky above, and Charlie for many years. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, something began to nag at him incessantly. It took him a long while before he figured it out but when he did it was as if a switch had gone off in his head, he'd burnt himself out on his nomadic lifestyle and begun to desire a place to settle down for once. It took him awhile to find the right place, passing over three other prospective towns, before sticking with Darkwell. It was the perfect size, close enough to other areas to have more options, and had that small town charm that just pulled you in. That was about eight months ago and so far he hasn't regretted his decision, he even has a stable job for once working at a flower shop.
Other: "Ya know, the one thing I miss about living on the road is the stars... more than you could ever hope to count."
Jude is Bisexual.
This is a visual representation of Jude's motorcycle and his dog, Charlie.
He got his second facial scar in a bar fight in Texas.
His favorite flower is lavender, and on that note his favorite color is purple.
Doesn't have a favorite genre of music but any type of bluesy music is good with him.
“I swear to all that’s holy, if this is another jump scare, I’m going to hurt you.”
Caitlyn Sigbin 19 Female
Occupation: Darkwell Community College Student; works part-time as a waitress in Darkwell City Diner
Relationships: Caitlyn’s roommate is Jude Marshall. In her opinion, she thinks they have a pretty warm friendship, if friendship meant sharing dog food between their pets and having her and Benjamin fawn over Charlie. Jude is usually quiet so Caitlyn converses minimally with him as to not discomfort him by pushing too much. She was a bit intimidated by him at first but upon seeing his fondness with Charlie, his likes in watching cooking shows, and his amazing singing voice (she's slightly jealous, by the way), she's quick to warm up to him. In fact, she thinks of Jude as her older brother in all but blood. Not that she'd say that out loud, of course. That would bring embarrassment and awkwardness.
Caitlyn is an acquaintance of Wren Faulkner. She frequents the Darkwell Mocha for its fabulous hot chocolate she always order no matter the time of day with an unhealthy helping of sweet pastries. She also seldom sees Wren stalking the halls of Darkwell College, at times with a dangerous expression on her face when not holding the familiar cup of coffee.
Caitlyn works in Darkwell City Diner and has Garrett Fischermann as her boss. She's scared of him due to his intensity in the workplace and the fact that he is her boss. While she’s aware that she won’t get fired for a single mistake, Garrett seems to have that kind of presence where she’d rather avoid having said mistake. That’s just her opinion, however.
Abilities: Caitlyn's magic is Metamorphosis. She learned that she has her magic when she woke up under the heavy mass of her blanket and felt more than saw that she had four legs and covered in black fur being licked in the face by her dog -- Benjamin. She finds her magic strange, weird, and reality-defying, making her hate having and using it. Unfortunately, she has the tendency to shape-shift accidentally and has no choice but to practice turning back.
Personality: Caitlyn likes to have fun, be it partying with other people or curling up in her bed with books in hand. She's amiable to strangers and friends alike, not hesitating to help people in need. When she's the one who needs help, she's not beyond asking her parents or friends for it. Still, she'd rather exhaust all her options first before asking other people. Her short temper is not well-known, however, due to her warm and welcoming personality. When she sees someone's being harassed or violated, Caitlyn would be likely to damn the consequences and throw herself in the situation even without knowing anything about it. After all, it's better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.
Biography: Caitlyn never had a single place to call home, though that’s not always a bad thing. Her father an avid photographer and mother a skilled painter, they moved pretty much everywhere their passions led them -- be it having a roadtrip from one place to the other or having to ride a boat or a plane to another country. This made her have some acceptable knowledge in some languages though she’s in no means fluent. This constant travelling, while fun and adventurous, was still filled with longing. Caitlyn didn’t have childhood friends like the other kid did, no person near her age to confide in about her troubles. As if in a way to compensate for that shortcoming, Caitlyn became this child full of smiles and confidence to lure in the affection and attention of others. She’s quick to adapt to the wants and needs of her new friends, making her rather popular with the students. This has its own consequences, however. People don’t like changes and her arrival in the school usually spells such a thing. It might as well be her middle name.
While in her first year in high school in a new town, Caitlyn pulled in some unfortunate attention from serious bullies who had mastered the subtle art of oppression. She pushed through it with a dazzling smile the whole fall semester and hoped that it would end after winter break. That optimism was shot down when she returned to school only to receive an unforgettable and unforgivable offense that was her bag filled with melting snow, fizzing out her electronics and soaking her books and her precious drawing pad. Her temper broke; her calm vanished. Knowing who the perpetrators were, Caitlyn immediately dispensed her own justice by breaking their nose and bloodying their face with the helping of her fists. While that had led to a week-long suspension and a month of detention, she wasn’t bothered again. It definitely helped that she’d be long gone when her freshman year ended and be enrolled into another school in a different town. Her parents weren't pleased, both with her and the students, but they focused their ire on the bullies upon understanding Caitlyn's reasoning.
Of course, good things come to an end. It was time for Caitlyn to settle down to take post-secondary schooling and it wasn’t as easy to change towns like it did in her childhood. Her parents understanding this, they offered to help pay Caitlyn’s tuition as long as she did good in school and didn’t waste their money. Appreciative of this, Caitlyn accepted their offer and settled in Darkwell. Due to its scenic location, tight knit community, and general quietness, Caitlyn came to love the town, treasuring its homey feel.
Caitlyn never had a single place to call home, though that's not a bad thing. Her father an avid photographer and mother a skilled painter, they moved pretty much everywhere her parents' passions led them. She came to learn early on to cherish the present and relish the moments presented both happy and sad. Home, for her, is the people who loves her unfailingly. Still, while her childhood was fun, reality demands that she stay in one place for her college courses. Caitlyn settled in Darkwell because of its scenic location and tight knit community. It has only been a year and she loved it already, treasuring its homey feel.
Others: Caitlyn hates the supernatural with a passion. Once, when she was little, her mother and father played a prank on her. Her father edited a picture to show a ghost standing next to her and her mother played along perfectly. So utterly convinced, Caitlyn avoided horror stories to the point she’d walk out whenever she suspects a commercial or a show to have a hint of scary ghosts in them. Even when her parents told her that it was just a joke, the concept of ghosts and what unhealthy things they could do to someone has been so ingrained within her that she couldn't get past that fear.
Caitlyn adopted a dog when she moved in Darkwell -- an adorable shih tzu with white fur and brown ears and eyes -- for companionship and mainly to mask her paranoia when she hears a sound that freaks her out.
In her spare time, she likes to take pictures and draw, giving her the habit of carrying a camera, notepad, and pencil wherever she goes. It has elicited escapades at the most unusual times, braving the midnight sky just to capture a single moment. Recently, due to recent reports about strange things happening at night, Caitlyn has instilled her own curfew for her own safety.
She also has a horrible singing voice, doing the songs she sings a serious injustice. At least she's good in dancing.
Caitlyn has a driver's license but due to that incident where she brought her mother and father for a joyride in her parent's car, she was told to never drive anymore. She didn't mind, exactly, since bus was cheaper anyways and a car was too expensive to maintain.
She plays video games, as most people do in this age. She likes role-playing games with amazing story and racing games, specifically Need For Speed.
Caitlyn's a horrible flirt when drunk. Dude or dudette, she'll hit on you if she's too far gone.
Occupation: Manager and Bartender of MacCready’s Irish Pub
Relationships:
Jude Marshall: Jude is a coworker at MacCready's. Thomas and Jude humorously look somewhat alike, but have differing personalities. To Thomas, Jude is just about the best drinking buddy in Darkwell, and Thomas considers him a friend.
Garrett Fischermann: Garrett is a regular at MacCready's. The two talk shit back and forth, and Thomas notices his absences on the rare nights that he doesn't come in.
Abilities: Thomas has a vague understanding of his full abilities. At current, he has the ability to generate a vast amount of electricity, but has difficulty controlling it. Alchemy has proved easier to grasp, and he’s gotten somewhat proficient at hardening blunt objects and sharpening blades, and is just beginning to experiment with adding additional effects to objects.
Appearance:
(5' 11", 142 lbs.)
Personality: Thomas, depending on who you ask, is either impulsive or decisive. He does not hesitate, for better or worse. He speaks his mind, and he acts according to what he thinks is right, in the moment. He curses like a sailor and can come off as a tad aggressive. However, he likes to help people and adopts a strong ‘what’re friends for’ attitude towards favors. Thomas is amiable and has a pretty good sense of humor. He’s a bit of an open book, quick to trust people, though he can become frustrated if that trust is not mutual.
Short Biography: Thomas was born in Iowa, in a town smaller than Darkwell, just off the Mississippi. He was smart, but got average marks in high school, with a proclivity for fighting and trouble, until he dropped out when he was 17. His parents kicked him out, and he and some friends caught a ride to California and started a punk band, “Alleyway Edict”. Laughably pretentious and angry to the point of novelty, Alleyway got minimal play on a few College Radio stations, but their debut album failed to recoup recording costs. The group disbanded within the year.
Lacking job experience or a diploma, Thomas struggled to find a job, and harder to hold one. He was a taxi-driver in San Diego for a month, and a cashier at a 7-11 in Portland for a few weeks. His first stable job came when he wandered into Darkwell. Artyom, a kindly old Russian who (oddly enough) owned an Irish Pub, offered him a job as a bartender. Hurting for cash, he accepted, intending to stay only for a while. However, plans changed as Artyom managed to convince him to get his GED. He did. Three years, Thomas worked faithfully for Artyom. The old man rarely comes around anymore, leaving Thomas to essentially operate the bar on his own.
Other:
The only other employee at MacCready’s (other than Jude Marshall) is the cook, a blonde-haired stoner named Justin.
The only method of transportation Thomas owns is a skateboard, but he’s awful at skateboarding, so he walks almost everywhere.
There's a cheap .38 revolver under the bar that's been there longer than Thomas has worked there. Thomas has never had to even touch it, but he likes to think that he'd be able to, if there was a serious threat in the bar.
Thomas has gotten into a few scraps, enough experience to serve as MacCready's bouncer. Since Arytom forced him to learn how to properly de-escalate a situation, he hasn’t had to lift a finger.
Thomas is a passable singer, and he’s able to play guitar.
”Of course. That’s the whole point, isn’t it? ‘A friend in need is a friend indeed’ and all that. Not sure why you chose to move out on the hottest fuckin’ day of the year, but I’ll help.”
Abilities: -Theresa has learned well her ability to create ice. Granted, all she really knows how to do is to shoot out a smallish yet jagged shard of it, but she’s plenty aware of it, and she has practised it a few times.
-Theresa has also learned of her ability to imbue certain objects with magical properties. She once managed to make a baseball bat that could freeze small areas where it struck. She’s much less confident with this ability, as she’s found she can’t reproduce it for anything, and has instead focused on her other currently known power.
Appearance:
She is 165cm tall (5’5) and weighs 63kg (140lbs).
Personality: Until somewhat recently, Theresa had been a highly sheltered and introverted individual. She was the type that would rather shut up in her room than go out and meet people, primarily because people kindof scared her. The world was a hostile place to be feared, and she convinced herself she could have a happy life as long as she was far from the dangers it presented. On the off chance she had to encounter people, she would make the conversation as short as possible and try to leave. She always had a bright and inquisitive mind, and she still does, but she always preferred to learn from the safety of her own home rather than go out and experience things first hand. She has always had an interest in strange things, like occult works and histories of far off countries.
After discovering her powers, however, Theresa underwent a rather radical shift in personality. Seemingly imbued with confidence upon learning of her apparently unique ability, Theresa began to fear the world less and less. She is now the type of person that would eagerly meet new people and visit the type of places the old Theresa would have freaked out at the notion of. Her inquisitiveness remained, only now she had the stones to actually go and see things with her own eyes rather than read about them on Wikipedia. She is now a rather showy person, enjoying the feeling of having expensive clothes and having people see her opulence.
Of course, as much as her personality has changed, the old Theresa is still in there. If put under too much pressure, there’s a good chance her façade might crack and have her crawling back in her shell. While she might have a degree of confidence, she still likes to think carefully and not take too many chances.
Short Biography: Theresa’s early life is what ultimately defined her. Early on, Theresa’s love of unconventional subjects and lack of interest in more typical pastimes made her an obvious target for bullying. She never managed to assert herself with these types, and coupled with a mother all too eager to let her shelter herself, Theresa quickly developed into something of a recluse. She passed through her schooling with exceptionally few friends, with only her high grades to show for it. Even when she entered the work force, she took a job at a local library due to the fact that she wouldn’t have to deal with quite as many people, and those she did have to deal with had to be quiet about it. She was eager to get through life without putting herself in harm’s way.
This all changed after that fever she had. More to the point, it changed after she realised the powers she had seemingly acquired since. Nothing could have fascinated her more than suddenly developing magical powers. As time passed, however, she came to a new conclusion; that if she were in possession of strange and mystical powers, why should she fear the world as she used to? Granted, she was far from invincible, and she had no intention of literally icing random strangers, but the feeling that she had this unique gift that others only dreamed of was a true game changer for her. She started to forget the old ideas that had bound her actions and instead began to indulge herself as she wanted to. She essentially became a completely changed person. It was rather easy to do so, as few people actually knew or remembered the introverted Theresa, and so many of those that do know her now only know her as the showy thrill seeker she has come to be. She still lives with her parents, but now she claims it’s because it’s cheap rather than avoiding the question out of shame and shyness. For now, the plan for Theresa is to find out more about her new powers and to build a new life for herself in Darkwell.
Other: “There’s no point holding back; just let your hair down and have fun!”
Occupation: Student at Darkwell Community College (History & Theology) - Part-Time Secretary at local Veterinary Practice
Relationships: (Their relationships with other citizens. You can start filling this in as other people make their sheets.)
Abilities:
Arcane: Amongst the Arcane spells of magic, Felix has found a proficiency in summoning gusts of wind, but at this point, one can hardly call the power hurricane force. He can summon enough to knock someone over, but nothing like the destruction of natural disasters. Yet. As for the other elements, the closest thing to success is in fire, upon lighting a match with his mind.
Conjuration: So far, Felix has been able to summon a penknife, a Gopher snake, and a robin. Clearly, practice makes perfect.
Appearance:
Hair: Dirty blonde and just about shoulder length. Usually pulled up into a bun or ponytail at the back of his head. He also tends to have a rather stubbly face, though it never grows into a beard.
Eyes: A mix between grey and blue.
Build: Lanky and thin, but wiry.
Height: 6'4
Weight: 171 lbs
Personality: Unlike what many would assume by his parents, Felix is no prude. The various vices of humanity that have been completely blocked out from his home are welcomed the moment he steps out of it. While some in his situation would take the most of this advantage by getting shit-faced on drugs or drink (Or sex, in some cases) Felix simply enjoys companionship. Had it not been for his closeted upbringing, Felix would have been the introverted sort. Now that he can leave the house more, he craves human contact, be it from strangers or good friends. As such, he is almost always friendly, honest and cheerful to those he meets. Vindictive, dickish or "holier-than-thou" behavior from others is easily ignored due to the amount of it he sees at home, so it's rare to see him get riled up or angry. He's a generally easy-going soul, but he does have his down moments at times. Felix has a tendency to be slightly naive thanks to his upbringing, and optimistic outlook - additionally, he can have episodes of blueness. Despite the terrible zealousness of his parents, he still retains some modicum of faith... and ponders whether what he does, and what he is, would anger the God he believes in. And what with his work in Theology, is recently going through a crisis of faith due to everything he has learnt - Felix isn't sure whether believing in a God that may hate him is better or not than not believing in anything.
Short Biography: Felix has lived in Darkwell all of his life, what with his parents having rather static jobs and no real feeling of wanderlust. The furthest away he's been from his hometown was to an equally small and unheard of town in Washington to meet some distant relative with his family. While certainly eager to get out and explore the world before him, certain expectations had to be upheld. With his father being a pastor - and a religious nut, not that Felix would ever dare to say such a thing to his face - he was expected to do something vaguely religious with his life beyond being forced to Church every Sunday. After attempting to sway his parents to agree to a "faithful pilgrimage" to Spain, Felix had to settle with joining his local Community College instead after that idea was shot down. History and Theology was the closest course they had to something "Christian approved", so Felix signed up for that course - and has surprisingly enjoyed it so far. Unlike what he expected, many different religions have been taught, including the ancient Greek, Egyptian and Norse pantheons that he'd never really known about before. Felix placates his parents with stories of "Yes, they did talk about Jesus today" and "We watched a video of mass - in latin" while trying to scrape some money on the side to pay for his own job. He hasn't told his parents about his part-time work; they'd probably come up with something sinful about working with animals if he did. Thankfully, now that he's at college, he can excuse his absences at home for catching up with work, when in reality he's out drinking with friends or just enjoying some downtime alone.
Other:
"Holy shit, what did people do to deserve dogs? They're so perfect. I want seven." Felix is bisexual - his parents certainly don't know, and he hasn't had much chance to explore his sexuality at all. Spends a good bit of time at MacCready's Irish Pub. His parents and parent's friends wouldn't dare frequent the place, so it's safe for him to have a drink (or ten) in peace with his friends. (May add some more bits of trivia later.)
Sexuality: Bisexual but leans towards males more then females.
Occupation: Student at Darkwell Community College. Major: Journalism.
Appearance:
Vernon is not a well kept male as many people can see whenever they look at him. Though, he does know how to maintain a professional appearance whenever the time calls for it. He has raven colored hair, which he usually likes to keep unkempt and messy. He has chestnut brown colored eyes, too. Vernon stands about six foot and a half with a weight of about one hundred and sixty-five pounds. He is very lean and athletically built, as well. Vernon also has a few blemishes upon his face, one underneath his right eye while two are beside his left eye.
Abilities: Vernon has two separate abilities but he does not even know that he has the ability of conjuring. He knows about his ability of stunning others though. He has the ability to conjure weapons, more so palm sized daggers than anything else. Vernon can also stun people by the use of black magic but that's about it, for now anyways.
Personality: Vernon has a huge ego but he is not always like that. His arrogance comes off wrong towards people but he is just purely confident within himself. He is kind and caring, at times and is not a mean person, he just doesn't think before he speaks sometimes and it can be pretty annoying. He is also a huge goofball, always telling jokes or playing jokes on others. He knows his boundaries and will never mess with or attack anyone personally and professionally. Vernon is a great person to be around and he will befriend almost anyone. He is a very positive person, always finding ways to lift up others and himself. He hates it when someone comes around him and they are negative towards him and others. Vernon will probably remove himself from that person but first speak his mind on the matter. He is somewhat of a sensitive person as well. He tries his best not to wear his feelings on his sleeve but he cannot help it, sometimes. Other people's words get to him very easily and he'll be strong all day in front of their face but when he is alone, he'll just be silent and not talk to anyone for awhile. Overall, Vernon is the person you would want to hang around with all the time. He always sticks up for what he believes in and his friends.
Short Biography: Vernon was not born and raised in Darkwell like many people seem to think. He was actually born and raised within the city of Sacramento, which is the capital of California. Even though he was raised in a capital city, him and his family were of the working class having the bare minimum to get by. His mother worked as a bank teller while his father worked as a restaurant manager and he has two siblings, a brother and a sister. Growing up wasn't necessarily tough for him or his family though, they were on a budget and it was sometimes where they were close to not having ends meet but whenever Vernon grew of age, along with his siblings, they all got jobs to help out.
As the years passed and Vernon eventually graduated from high school, he sought his sights on a community college instead of a big university and applied to Darkwell Community College, which he was accepted into. After one final dinner with his family, whom he was going to miss dearly, he left the home in his graduation present, which was a 2015 Ford Mustang.
He's been living in Darkwell for some years now and is still attending the community college in Darkwell. He has an apartment, with a roommate named Kevin, that is not exactly far from the college he is attending, nor is it far from the shops and diner. Vernon loves being in Darkwell and hopes that he will still like it there once he graduates from the college there.
Other: "What the hell, man?" -Vernon's often saying that.
Occupation: University Student, Architeture | Part-Time work as an attendant, at a Tattoo Parlor.
Appearance: Violetta isn't very extravagant of a girl. In a crowd, she'd likely blend in and pass unnoticed rather than appear out and catch one's attention. She is short not above 5'3 , with a slightly curvy figure and a weight of 135lbs. Her nut-brown colored hair is thick but not very long, reaching her upper back at most. While often brushed and well cared for, it still is often unkempt and wild.
She has a round face, with a slightly pointed chin and delicate cheekbones, fitting perfectly with her unsurprisingly fair skin, soft to the touch and without any marks, scars or blemishes. Her eyes are round and her gaze intense, the hazel eyes had something that made her appear as curious, often and above them, trimmed eyebrows that arched slightly, accompanying the curve of her eyes; they gave her an ever present interested expression, or a look of eternal curiosity. Her nose iss soft and small, with a long bridge and small nostrils yet round at the tip. She have full, thick lips that were constantly pushed against one another in a subtle unsuccessful attempt of making it thinner.
Violetta was never fashionable. Simplicity and comfort were often taken into consideration when she had to go shopping; her style consists of blouses, t shirts and jackets and bland tight jeans.

Abilities: Violetta had only recently discovered that she had any ability at all. In a heated discussion with her older sister, the woman slammed a wooden spoon against a concrete wall and a large hole was made on the wall. She is currently afraid of what she can do, if anything at all.
Personality: Violetta is a reserved girl, kept mostly to herself and her own endeavors. That's not to say she's a social outcast, living in her own personal bubble and world - it's just that she'd rather be approached and talked instead of making the first move and talk to someone first. And if spoken to, most people would only find out that she's no more than what is expected: Quiet, soft spoken and even timid to certain extent, the girl is still a gentle soul and have a rather caring nature, motherly almost. She worries for others easily, even if they don't know her at all and is empathetic of any suffering soul, always willing to help someone in any way she can.
That's not just flowers and love for Violetta, though. The girl's mannerisms led her to become naive, easily fooled and gullible. It's easy to point out that if she's ever approached by a more manipulative person, she'd become their playground easily enough. Not only that, but the girl also suffers from being very emotional, bursting out easily at the slightest provocation, even though she can hardly act upon it due to her... also cowardly nature.
Short Biography: Violetta's parents came from Italy and she was brought with them when she was only two. Her childhood wasn't very eventful: She became bilingual very young because of her parentage, learning english and italian at the same time. Due to the fact that she wasn't one to blend in with other groups, she grew up with only one or two friends or rather, children to speak with - and her whole life followed suit. She became timid, shy even and many times the girl was made fun of because of the accent she previously had, now successfully dropped out.
Darkwell has been her home only for the past year when she moved in due to her college's course choice. The city offered a nice choice and she didn't refuse - she had nothing to leave behind except her parents. They still offer her monthly allowance to keep their daughter situated, but the girl still took up a part-time job to ease the incomes and give her some money to spend with her own stuff too.
Other: There should be a quote here, I know. But there aren't any that I can think of for the character above.

• General Information •
NAME: Dwayne Jefferson (Nickname: DJ)
AGE: Nineteen (19)
GENDER: Male
OCCUPATION: Freelancer Entertainer
APPEARANCE: Dwayne appears as a rather short young man, standing at mere 5'6" - he's not too large either, having only 137lbs of skin and bones in his slender form. The boy makes up for his lack of size with style and tattoos, having heavily tattooed arms, chest and back. Upon closer inspection, the boy's face is defined best with sharp details, a powerful unnatural looking gaze of two yellow orbs flicking through the surroundings, while the almost ever present smirk makes itself present on his thin lips. The dirty blonde hair is often spiked on the back, with two locks framing his face evenly.
As for his style, as mentioned above, there is a mixture of formal and informal. With buttoned vests thrown together with skinny black jeans or loose sweatpants. No, he doesn't wear a top hat in his day to day attire, unless he's performing.
For his tattoos, on his back, there is a dragon with both of its wing descending on his back: It's colorless, only shaded with black and some gray shades. His arms, take a look at the hider to see a perfect description of them, however note that his right shoulder/bicep also has a two wolves following the same artwork (black and white) and his left shoulder/bicep an old watch and four joker cards each with a variation: The joker's expression, representing: Anger, sadness, happiness and surprise.
Ignore the handcuffs.

ABILITIES: Dwayne has understood the basic concept of arcane magic, it seems. He's capable of using it daily with small tricks such as burning cards with arcane, summoning small winds to surprise any audience he might have, throw harmless lightning bolts that give people a small shock and freeze small portions of water at will. While he practices it quite a lot, he hasn't got anywhere past that, yet.
PERSONALITY: Dwayne is a carefree individual which enjoys living one day at a time. He never thinks forward, never really thinks too much- simply does whatever comes to mind, whatever he feels comfortable doing. His whole life has been like that and he refuses to change, even past adulthood. As for the deeper feelings inside this peculiar man's mind, well.. It is safe to say that Dwayne is a little egoistic, having little empathy towards others and little desire to help them, especially if that may take him out of his way or bother him.
A little arrogant, too - Dwayne is a tad confident in himself. He doesn't believe in superiority or inferiority, though, always judging everyone as equal. This is one of the reasons of why he's so egoistic as a person: If he can do it, then whoever need help probably can, too. One of his favorite phrases represents exactly that: "Stop being lazy and do it yourself".
SHORT BIOGRAPHY: Dwayne isn't one with a very lively and eventful story. The boy's childhood was simple: education, playing around, doing childish things - but there was a little something that was always present: Tricks. The boy, since very young, loved to play tricks on others in any possible manner. From playful to more mischievous one, it often earned him a boisterous laughter when a successful trick was applied on an unsuspecting someone. As a teenager, Dwayne picked up basic magic tricks with cards, becoming quickly attached to them, somehow. There was something about the surprised gasps and unbelief that made him pretty interested in learning more and more.
Life wasn't quite great, though. His father, an alcoholic, was becoming increasingly harder to deal with. The man lost his job and a wife mother of two wasn't doing too well by herself. So, Dwayne's father was eventually sent off to a recovery center and his mother decided to move to Darkwell and live with Dwayne's grandfather. A wise choice, but the now young man had to help his family somehow. Without any talent and proper study rather than the very basic, he found an interesting manner through entertainment on the streets of Darkwell. If you're a resident, chances are you've heard of the shocking street magician: DJ.
OTHER: "One day at a time, eh? And if you can't do it, stop being lazy and find a way to do it."
Dwayne's first tattoo was a very basic joker on his right arm. It has been covered with the arm sleeve he's got now.
He began tattooing himself when he was sixteen: His mother allowed it, never seeing a problem with that. It was his own hard earned money after all.
While an alcoholic, Dwayne's father wasn't particularly a bad person. It was just the alcoholism being a tough thing for the family. They still regularly contact one another through social media.
Dwayne doesn't drink alcohol. The reason is rather clear.

Stubborn to a fault and dedicated to his work and studies, Shawn can be a bit of a dry man. He likes his humor like he likes his coffee, dark and bitter. That being said, he’s a lightweight when it comes to alcohol, and opens up when truly intoxicated. A social drinker, it’s not a problem. Really. Ecstatic at his transfer, Shawn moved west to get out of the big city and really clear his head, focusing on his studies with a renewed intensity as he continued work as a small-time cop in a quieter place. Soon, Shawn found himself taking world history and education courses in Darkwell, seeking to become a teacher and leave his life of pursuing criminals behind him. For now, he works the not-so-calm streets, disturbed more and more at the increasing violence in animals and strange omens around him. For better or for worse, it looked like this would lead him to the heart of things.

Supposedly in a long-distance relationship, but it's strained and likely to end soon. -Currently lives alone, comes to classes covered in cat hair. -When he isn't going to work or class, his hands are usually stained with charcoal.
