As I just got back home I'm going to give everyone the go ahead to start posting IC.
First IC post content is up as well.
I'm set back, possibly for a good while, in terms of starting this. I'll watch for the moment and perhaps hop in later on. Otherwise, I'm not holding up too well for this one I'm afraid.
@GeekFactor This is my first time DMing of even RPing here as well, so don't sweat it.
As I just got back home I'm going to give everyone the go ahead to start posting IC. I will check back as often as I can to keep the RP flowing especially for people with don't have other player characters starting in the same area. Of course, people are welcome to keep joining and creating new characters as time goes on, the more the merrier as far as this particular setting is concerned.
My schedule just got a whole lot busier over the past few days. I'll stick around, but can't promise frequent posts. I hope that's okay! Very much looking forward to reading others' contributions!
Alright, this is also my first time attempting to join an rp on this site and I want opinions before I start writing a character sheet. I want to have a monster hunter/sellsword. I was thinking about having him either be a member of the Silver Shields or the Black Suns if you're interested in having another character as a part of them. But I want my character to be kind of a renegade. He follows the rule for the most part, but he's not afraid to break them if the need arises. Or if he's just feeling rebellious. He's not real into the idea of being a part of a strict organization that has control over his life. So I'm thinking Silver Shields is out. I'm just trying to make sure I'm following the lore correctly.
@Nymeria Hey there Nymeria! Coincidentally I was just reading your intro thread and was going to invite you here.
As for your question, I'd reckon Silver Shields is out because of the strict rules and all that, yeah, but I have no problem with you joining Pathfinder's Black Sun band, but as I'm not sure about the exact specifications of that one and have just been given a rough idea you'd have to talk to him about it!
Alternatively, you could make a band of your own up, and your character won't necessarily have to be the leader of the company/guild/etc if you're into the idea of playing someone who's prone to rebel against the rules set by someone else.
Alternatively alternatively:
A gigantic, self-proclaimed captain of a new company of mercenaries dressed in a gleaming steel half-plate and matching barbute helmet patrols the wharf, calling out to all who will hear him: "The Band of the Blue are seeking able bodied men and women to hunt monstrous beasts to the far east in exchange for coin!"
I posted this in the IC part of the thread not long ago, so if you'd like for your character to be a current member or a fresh joiner that's also an option.

Haha, yeah I just read that! I was like "Oh, that's a perfect place for me to join in!"
I'll try to write up a character sheet. I may or may not get it finished now as I have somewhere to be in a couple hours. I'm thinking he will be a lone monster hunter and leave it open for him to join the Black Sun Band if an opportunity presents itself.
Character Name: Alexandra "Siren" Flores Species: Human Sex: Female
Remove the scar, add a lute, change her hair to red and her eye color will be green and you'll have The Siren
Profession: Ex-Bard, Adventurer for hire Starting Equipment/Belongings: A purse that holds 29 Bells and 67 Shards, a lute, a short sword, leather armor with a hood, a backpack which holds provisions History: As it is with all stories there are two ways to see them. To understand the Siren's story, one must know how Alexandra's story ended and how the Siren's started. Alexandra was born the daughter of an innkeeper and his wife. From a small age, Alexandra could be seen running up and down the stairs of the Inn, talking with strangers and sometimes playing games with some. Her voice was a wonder to those with which she talked with and the pride of her parents. At the age of 13, her parents built her a small stage from where she could sign and delight the various patrons. Her success was aparent from the start and soon patrons would come only to hear her "magical" voice. When her parents died, Alexandra sold the Inn and took up the profession of The Bard. 5 years later, at the age of 25, Alexandra sang at most of the inns in the land. On her 6th year, her true story began. While playing for a caravan that would've led her to the capital and her first concert there, the caravan was attacked by bandits. It is not known exactly what happened then but at the end of the attack it is said that the caravan didn't lost a man despite being outnumbered. Stories would soon roam the taverns that a single woman saved the caravan. Some of them say that the woman lulled the bandits to sleep with her "magical" songs, others say that she killed the bandits with her screem, while other claim that the woman convinced the bandits to leave the caravan alone. Even as diverse the stories as they were all agreed that the Siren was the reason why no one died and so the "Siren" was born. Alexandra abandoned her profession soon after and became an adventurer for hire. Her encounter with the bandits changed her forever and adopting her new alias went on her quest. Her story continues even today and what will happen in the future is not yet known but one thing is certain, the Siren's name will be known by all.
@Winterwake That's it. I hope you like her. Personally, I fell in love with her already and I can certanly say that she is perhaps, one of the best characters I've written so far.
@Timemaster Oooh. Flowery rumours, we'll see where those lead. Go ahead and post it to the character tab. I was about to write up a response to the two most recent posts, if you plan on posting in the IC today let me know soon and I will hold off my response until you do so I can reply to you at the same time.
@Nymeria True. Well, you know how they say...every bard needs a companion, right ? xD
Just a quick question, do you think that your character should recognize mine? I mean, she is semi-famous in taverns and all that + the story of "The Siren" xD
@Winterwake, I totally have to agree with @GeekFactor. I've been RPing here for almost two years now (different accounts) and I've seen a lot of GMs. Some considered themselves to be "advanced" or "one of the best" but didn't do half of what you've done with this RP.
It's a pleasure to RP in your world and on behalf of all the RPers here (I'm sure they will agree), I have to say : Thank you !
@GeekFactor@Timemaster Thanks people! I'm doing my best, forum RP is quite different from the kind of RP that I am used to, but I think I am getting the hang of it. Even if half the time I write half an emote in past tense and the rest of it in present!
@Winterwake Give me a minute and I'll have a post up.
It's no problem with " Even if half the time I write half an emote in past tense and the rest of it in present! " happens to the best of us xD
Forum RP is different than what I was used to, too. I RPed for 2 years on a game and of course, when I joined the guild (at a behest of someone who wanted to RP) it was different but there were things that were the same. Characters, emotions, plots...they remain the same wherever you RP.
