Perri Guthrie
"Heya cutie, what's up?~"
Basic Information
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance: Standing at a straight six feet and nothing more, Perri is a rather tall individual and it doesn't look like he's getting any taller. His physique, from the looks of it seems to be fairly slender; along with that his visage does seem to lean a bit on feminine. However, from the only set of skin being displayed on his shoulders and arms, he does look to take care of himself... even more so when you get down to the athletic body. You can thank his dad for the yoga and dance lessons for his flexibility and small amounts of muscle... though he does take care to run early in the mornings as well.
Moving on, his complexion is basically fair, with nothing special to make it stand out. His face seems to be in almost a circular shape, if you ignore how the part around his mandible starts to curve down sharply. His wild, unkempt, naturally white hair is actually more of a style as opposed to being lazy and not combing it in the morning since there's a method to his madness. Finally, Perri's eyes are a cerulean hue, just like his fathers.
For clothing, well... Perri almost always manages to find a piece of clothing that looks peculiar to the point where it might stand out, mainly looking for anything that is a shade of purple. The jacket he wears above looks rather strange with a distinct lack of sleeves for his shoulders. The jacket displays numerous amounts of lines which form to make a triangle on the front and the back of his body. However, the part that sticks out the most to him is the white hood which looks to barely be attached to the jacket. Perri just ignores it, mainly in the fact that it matches his hair. The jacket was also a part of a set as displayed by the pants and the purple portions streaking off the sides.
Aside from the set, the other portions of clothing included are - a black sleeveless turtleneck, some white gauze which seems to be more for style than actually covering up wounds, some black gloves, black shoes, and his bicolored goggles.
Birthplace: Saffron City
Current Hometown: Celadon City
Personal Information
Personality: The easiest way to describe Perri at just one glance is that he is outrageously outgoing with a mischievous and playful attitude to boot... heck, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that his default personality is constantly set on flirty.
For the most part, he seems to act like the kind of guy who would throw caution to the wind and it shows for half of the stuff he likes doing. For starters, he loves trying to tease people and get them flustered in the process, vehemently pursuing that path until he is successful. And once he is? He attempts to find a different way to mess around with them. Still, there's more silver-lining to him than trying to toy with other people.
Despite it all, he does try to come off as an affable person in the best way he can, despite his somewhat unruly nature. More or less, everything is all in good fun for him; hurting people is not always on his agenda unless he really has to. Regardless, when it comes to his friends feelings and messing around, he is a bit dense and callous, per say. Perri will most likely push a person to their limits without even realizing it and the only way to get him to end those shenanigans is a genuine, somewhat irked stop to his face. He'll get the issue and back off... well, at least for the while.
Along with that, he tries to come off as cool, collected, and confident when approaching other people. So far he has only gotten the latter nailed down, with the former two's mileage varying. For the latter, he always approaches a task with his trademark smile, ready to tackle it down!... as long as it is within his capabilities. For the former, well, he does seem to act a bit flamboyant and as if the limelight is constantly shining on him. Putting a finger to his lips, winking, or ending his sentences in a playful, if not sing song voice is par for the course.
Even with these parts of him, Perri is a dedicated person and when he does focus on something and takes it seriously, he will focus and take it seriously. No flair, no cutesy stuff, just pure undulated resolve... well, sometimes he'll act with flair, but that's not the point. The list of things he takes seriously ranges from yoga, dancing, running, and that's currently about it. Despite this all, Perri is also very much open to trying new things; hell, he might even find a new interest that he can dedicate himself to aside from the current trio! I mean, it does help with what he wants to make himself out to be, right?
So yeah, despite his ups and downs, Perri is just an over the top guy who likes trying out new things, acts a bit stereotypically girlish to some extent and acts somewhat callous when it comes to some peoples emotions, who wants to make some friends!
Ambition: Despite how strange it would be to undertake a journey like this, Perri aspires to be a screenwriter... or author... or actor... yeah, he honestly is a bit unsure of which of these paths to undertake. Honestly, getting out of the house with a clear head should give him a better idea, and heck, maybe he might change his professions! While he does have a nigh insatiable thirst to see most of the world (since he's kinda only seen bits and pieces), there is another reason he wants to go around.
While these are his ambitions, Perri is open to trying out new things; like, for example, when living in Hearthome City, his dad showed him his inspiration for becoming a dance and yoga instructor - the Contest Hall. From the spectacle he saw, Perri was pretty enamored with the prospect of performing on that stage (despite how terrifying it probably was to him), or taking on gyms to challenge the league after his mom relived her exploits in Kalos. Trying to participate in a Pokeathalon in Johto (dance, yoga, and running, whoo!), surfing across Alola, the list goes on.
Hmm... now that he has the chance, maybe he
could challenge the Indigo League... now
that would be a pretty fun prospect.~
Hero: If he would have to choose a role model, it would have to be the actor Connie Leblanc. Honestly, Perri doesn't understand how the man does what he does, fitting into different roles in different movies, but it's honestly such a cool thing. One second he's the protagonist of the movie "The Aura Within," and next he plays a slapstick hilarious and bumbling antagonist in "Off Beat, Own Tempo." Honestly, the man is just a talented genius and one of his inspirations for going out and trying a whole bunch of new things.
The last time Perri heard of him, he was at a movie shoot in Kanto as a secondary character. Fingers crossed that he can get the guys autograph! That would be so friggin' bad ass!

Personal Information - Starter Pokemon
Personality: For the most part, Scyther seems to be a rather closed off and stubborn individual, a personality that seemingly mocks and scorns Perri's... if not for her other traits. She enjoys acting tough around other pokemon, if not only to survive but to appear cool and badass to the point where she seemingly ends up driving other pokemon off from time to time... which sucks for her a lot.
Like Perri, she seems to conduct herself with a certain amount of flair both outside and in battles, and enjoys showing off a lot. This leads her to looking a little bit like a tryhard in the process, but still, that makes her mesh even more with Perri!
Along with that, she does try to act motherly when she can, though for the most part it's keeping a pokemon safe and nourishing them back to full health. Sure, they'll just run off in terror afterwards and sure they're a free meal, but... but she isn't just hungry at the moment, ok?! Jeez...
Backstory: Scyther seems to be pretty old, but in truth, she's probably just a little bit older than most pokemon around the sanctuary. She does recall the day she came there after hunting some pokemon. The bug decided she liked the placed, shrugged and made her home in the sanctuary. Honestly, she's actually quite enjoyed the place and the variety of pokemon and have never left... unless it's to go out hunting. Strangely enough, she refuses to fight and eat any of the pokemon in the sanctuary... it's rather strange.
However, for the most part, her life has been a somewhat lonely one, trying to show off, driving pokemon away from her "territory." Hell, she's pretty sure an Elekid wandered in trying to
fight her! No reason to, just went in and blam. Scyther honestly kind of hates it and as of late, has been considering on returning to the wilds outside the sanctuary.
Parent Information
Blake Guthrie
Parent(s) or Guardian(s) Appearance: Perri's father is a behemoth of a man, towering over his son himself at an immense height of six feet and five inches; tall enough to give a Ursaring a run for its money! His bright cerulean eyes have dulled as he has gotten older and he seems to have a super casual appearance. The man looks to be in his late thirties and has a inquisitive look on his face at all times. He can typically be seen with glasses set on his face, a gray sweatshirt with some equally bland workout pants and some black running shoes.
Along with that, his father sports broad shoulders and has a bit of muscle sticking out here and there. His face is very, very unshaven with his short, messy black beard contrasting his tightly wounded white hair; it looks like he dyed it that color, judging by the black roots at the midst of his hair. Blake also seems to contrast his son a bit, having a subdued, laid-back demeanor.
Parent(s) or Guardian (s) Backstory: Perri's father isn't exactly a Kanto native, judging by his mannerisms and pokemon of choice. Instead, he hails from the region of Sinnoh; a quaint place filled with legends of space and time, the usual gyms... and contests!
Unlike his son, Blake started his journey at the humble age of eleven and was quite the cocky little fire cracker back then. It wouldn't hurt to say that he was a little bit like his future son, but for now lets forget that. Like most boys from Jublife City, he had one simple goal - be the very best and beat the pokemon league! There were many squabbles over who was the best...
Regardless, on one faithful day, all the children were prepped and ready to go on their journey with their parents accompanying them for a bit as they assisted their children in catching their first pokemon... and it turns out most of the boys were going for Shinx's, including Blake.
Of course, what he didn't expect was to overshoot his pokeball and accidentally caught a resting Budew. While he didn't want the pokemon at first, his parents insisted on him keeping it... at much to his chagrin, he did. Due to his sour mood, he honestly didn't think of very many positive nicknames for it, but after some well needed assistance from his parents (and identifying the gender, of course), they all went with the name Lumino.
Eventually, it was time to say good byes and they all left their parents behind, some with tears in their eyes. Blake traveled with a large clique of friends, which ensured not a whole lot of trouble would ensure, other than the occasional older trainer or pokemon...
... fast forwarding a few months, the lot of them were stronger and tougher, just like their pokemon! Some even grew a bit, physically and mentally, but that's not important right now. What is important is that during this time the whole group had arrived in Hearthome City, two gym badges in tow and ready to challenge the gym leader.
A few of Blake's friends dragged him along to the contest hall, hoping to see some performances... what they got, instead was a chance to end up participating in a pokemon contest with other people! They all entered the contest in hopes of earning the clothes and chance at participating! They even peer pressured Blake into signing up...
Lo and behold, Blake ended up being the one to star in it all, much to is irritation. He was just thinking of flunking it all as they pampered him up and as he practiced for his performance...
... what he got instead was second place and looking as if he had the time of his life. Sure, he wouldn't forget that day as he was interested in coming back there... but that time in his life caused a bit of an internal revolution. His enthusiasm dwindled bit by bit as he challenged each of the gyms, always thinking about the contest hall, always yearning a bit to go back for more.
... so it was no surprise when Blake was one of the first few people to be eliminated in the tournament for becoming the champion. His friends noted that he wasn't as downtrodden as they thought he would be. Weird...
While none of them ended up making it to the champion, much less the elite four, they had a huge blast and came to terms with themselves. Some came to the conclusion that they would want to pursue another profession while a few others kept clinging on to that dream of becoming champion... but Blake?
As his life went on, Blake went on to become a performer at the Hearthome Contest Hall when he was older, but never rose up to fame like many of the other stars. This didn't deject him as later on he would find other hobbies as well and eventually came to open a dance/yoga studio in Hearthome.
When he grew older, he became more curious about the world as well outside of Sinnoh and decided to pack up all he could grab, began studying how to speak a different language and moved to Kalos. It was honestly a whole culture shock when he arrived, bewildered and amazed... probably a bit pissed that he didn't visit sooner.
While it did take some time, Blake eventually reopened up his dance/yoga studio and caught the eye of a young pupil - a serious business woman who seemed to be a bit younger than him. Eventually, said pupil had to stop visiting during the day, but came in for much more private lessons. Eventually things grew intimate and within a few months it was obvious she was pregnant with the soon to be Perri. They were quickly wed afterwards.
During the pregnancy, the company had Blake's wife, Giselle relocate to another region. Packing his bags up once again, the duo and their soon to be child moved to Kanto. After going through the process before, Blake was able to reopen his studio (again) and began performing the same things as he did in Kalos and in Sinnoh.
Eventually, while living in Saffron City, the family finally brought their third member into the world - Perri. Going on maternity leave, the duo did their best to raise their child during this time before Giselle would eventually have to return to work. They ensured that during this time he would grow up to be a strong boy they could be proud of.
And as it turns out, they got what they bargained for... and probably a lot more.
At first, Perri seemed a little quiet and distant... until he got his first friend. It was honestly really surprising to see him turn into a firecracker during these years, especially after what the duo saw; Blake and Giselle wondered if he was somehow drinking their coffee in the morning...
Regardless, Blake continued living his life with his wife and child... until down the road they had to ship out of Saffron City when their son was five. From here on out, they were months on end, changing regions as if they were going out of style. Their stay ranged from six months to a year. And with the constant switching between region, Blake noticed something with their son. Call it intuition, but he felt the boy might not being growing up the proper way he needed.
Blake was afraid there might be some disconnect with their child and talked it over with Giselle over getting a permanent stay in one region... or at least a stay that would allow their child to properly mature and grow with other kids.
At the age of thirteen, Perri and his parents were relocated to Celadon. And within those few months, Blake learned his wife had gotten a well earned promotion. However, she was required to stay in Saffron City, which pained both the parents. It would be easier to pack up shop, but Blake and Giselle sort of felt this would be better for their son. Promising to visit them every weekend, she took off back to working, staying true to her promise.
On all three ends, the trio began to develop healthy friendships. Perri had began losing that part of him Blake had noticed and was thankful for it as he began to spend time with his own newfound friends. Though, there was a sneaking suspicion on his part that there was still something off...
Regardless, after three years and no moving, Blake decided it was not only good enough for Perri to start his pokemon journey, but it had been wa-a-a-ay too long for this. Working together, Blake and Perri managed to learn about Lo Town, a quaint place not too far from here. While Blake was disappointed that it was on a day his wife couldn't come home, Perri seemed ecstatic.
After talking it over with Giselle, Blake signed Perri up for this excursion.
... and so starts a new end... and yet, the start of a new beginning.
Family Pokemon: Lumino - Roserade - Male - Natural Cure
His father's pokemon, Lumino is very, very close with Perri to the point where Perri teases his mom about Lumino functioning as his "mom." Despite this all, the pokemon seems to be only comfortable around his partner, Blake, and his family... but if left alone around anyone else, the Roserade just might shrink back a bit. Along with that, he sort of functions as the mascot of Blake's dance/yoga studio. Used to dance around with Perri when younger, but not so much anymore.
Sometimes helps around the house, assisting Perri, Blake, or Giselle whenever they need help.
