Yavanna smiled in her sleep; the images of Legolas. His arms around her, made her stomach flutter with warmth and butterflies. Just like it always did, in reality. Her heart longing for the moment, when she would see him again. Kili leaned his head on his arm, as he shifted in his sleep slightly. The fond memories with his brother, still swimming around in his head; as he slept. No one could fill that void...and replace his eldest brother. It wasn't possible.

The pair slept peacefully, in their dreams till the morning. It was still in the early morning, when Yavanna had sat up stretching her muscles. As she let out a soft yawn. It was a rather warm morning, Kili was still asleep on the ground...snoring a little bit. His nose twitched, as a butterfly landed on the tip of his nose...tickling him slightly.

Saeril continued to watch them in their dreams, having to enjoy them as the night went by. However, in the morning, they all but stopped, as soon as they started to wake up. Good, that means one more day until their arrival in Ered Luin. The winged she-elf notified that they should be there by today's nightfall. It would have been a good idea to fly them there, but their weight combined was a bit much. Like she said, she could lift up to only two dwarves; equaling those together, that also means by only one human, not one human and a Dwarf.

Noticing that the princess has awakened from her sleep, the elder gave her a smile, knowing that she and the Son of Durin have slept well. "Good Morning, child", she said in her motherly voice. Before turning to see the sun rise.

Yavanna smiled softly, as she heard Saeril "Good morning, Saeril. Have a good night?" she asked her softly...as she stood up from the ground...stretching her legs. "Mhh, what a glorious morning." she smiled; breathing in the fresh air.

Kili awoke with a yawn, shaking his head slightly. Making the small butterfly fly away from a top of his nose. He sat up, stretching out his muscles "Good Morning Delva...Morning dear sister." he breathed out, in the moment. Not really noticing that he called Yavanna 'sister.' But in a way, it seemed appropriate, having been viewing her as one.

Hearing Kili, she smiled softly to herself. "Morning, snoring Mr." Yavanna said in a teasing tone. Indeed making young Kili chuckle at her comment.

"It was remarkably peaceful", confirmed the elder, having to give the girl that same smile, though there was some quiet amusement behind it. Yet it was strange to notice that the spot they were currently on, was even safe. Not a single disturbance during the night; strange, indeed. Having to spot her godson awakening, Saeril, once again, chuckled at the scene. There was obviously a very close sibling-like bond between the younger she-elf and the dwarf. For that, it became her bound-duty to protect them both from the enemy, who wants to terminate any remaining Sons of Durin, as well as claim all that is good; in this case, hope and light. The darkness would want to swallow the light; for the older she-elf to realize that, Yavanna wasn't safe to be out on her own. She was to be required protection all the time. "Alright, you two, get yourselves ready. We're halfway there", she told them, still smiling at their happiness.

Yavanna was quiet surprised, the night was so peaceful. But after the last few nights and events. A peaceful night was a god-send. Literally. The young Dwarf and she-elf, both walked over to the little river...where they washed their faces, and necks.. The water felt refreshing. Cold, but made them feel a bit more alert in the early hours of the morning. It wasn't long before the pair were ready to go. Kili had given Yavanna her cloak back; not having any use for it in the warm morning weather, and the young she-elf done it up.

As they packed up their mini-camp for the night. They were ready to go. Kili was glad, the journey to the Blue Mountains was almost over. It wasn't a long journey from Erebor. He was positive, his mother would adore Yavanna...like everyone else did.

Through hills, prairies, and forests, they continued to venture through these terrains, before managing to get across into the border of the Eriador region, near the mountain pass. Even though it was summer, it was cooler in the Northwestern part of Middle-Earth, where the air had a few spots of moisture moving within it. Just as the sun began to set, they were nearly there, having to scale, in order to reach the village that stood near the rock structures, where another large mountain stood nearby, and overshadowed it.

Saeril had allowed her hair to flow free, just as they had managed to walk up a hill, and spot the village before them. It dawned upon the winged she-elf that she hasn't been here in a while; for several years, she hasn't been here.

As they walked side by side. Yavanna took in the beauty of the Parts of Middle-Earth she had not yet seen. Even though the weather was cooler, it didn't really bother her that much. Her Dark Raven hair was blowing, feeling the wind on her face. She could not help but ponder what Legolas was doing right now. She hoped, the Dunedian Warriors had at least been welcoming to him.

When Kili saw the village before them. He suddenly stiffened in his spot. Falling behind the two she-elves. It didn't take long for Yavanna to notice, Kili wasn't by her side...looking over her shoulder. She saw the young Dwarf staring at the village before them...like he had seen a ghost. She sighed softly. It must have been hard for him to be here again, especially without his uncle and big brother by his side. Walking back over to him, she lightly rubbed his shoulder. "It's going to be okay, I promise." she told him softly. She and Saeril would be with him, and if worst comes to worse...they'd help explain what happened during the battle.

Kili felt his heart clench. He was returning home, without his big brother and uncle. He could not bare to tell his mother what happened...but he knew he had to.

Saeril halted in her tracks when she, as well, noticed Kili stop walking; how she could no longer hear his footsteps. Looking back the youngest with concern, she approached him, as well. Bending down to his height, she looked at him in the eye, with a soft expression. "I know how much this troubles you, Kili", she said, in agreement to his own thought of returning back to a place they haven't been to, in a long time. She hadn't been back in Ered Luin, ever since their quest with Thorin began. "But your mother must know what we had just endured", she looked up at Yavanna, who stuck close, and gave her a reassuring smile. Looking back at Kili with a sad smile, the eldest she-elf moved a piece of the Dwarf's brown hair from his face, silently reassuring him as well, before standing back up again. "Take a deep breath", she advised him softly.

Kili glanced between his God-Mother and the younger she-elf, whom was like a dear sister to him. He sighed softly. Saeril was right, but it still hurt. "How can I, face mother? How can I tell her, that Fili and uncle Thorin are never returning?" he said shaking his head. It even broke him to think, about breaking the news to his mother. How she had lost her big brother, and eldest son. As if loosing father wasn't bad enough. Now she lost one of her sons and brother.

Yavanna smiled softly at Saeril, and she looked at Kili. "I know it's hard. We both do. But I am sure, she will be happy that she still has you." she reassured him. "If you want, maybe me or Saeril can do the talking for you." she suggested softly. If it would make it easier on Kili.

Kili lightly shook his head. "No. She's my mother! I lost my brother and uncle...I should be the one to say it. I just don't know how." he closed his eyes, with a sigh. Before he tried to take a deep breath like Saeril suggested. But it came out bit shaky.

Saeril understood Kili's predicament, considering that she knew how hard it was to tell someone that they have lost another who was very dear to them. The pain of loss was very hard, and very difficult to recover from. As traumatic as the event was, it was going to be a very slow recovery. If the young Durin began to blame himself, he could suffer from survivor's guilt. If this keeps up, depression could follow.

The elder she-elf lightly squeezed his shoulders in comfort before gently placing them at the sides of his face. "It's going to be alright", she softly told him. "Trust me. Trust us", she gestured to the youngest she-elf. "The death of your brother and uncle were never in vain. Just know, that they have died to protect your homeland, your name, and your family", and those said-events were being replayed in her mind; when Fili told her to flee with Kili, her screech, up to the funeral. And, as she kept her gentle hands on his face, these events were suddenly in a vision for Kili to see. "They fought and died with honor".

As soon as the images dissapeared, Saeril used her thumbs to stroke, just below his eyes, to comfort him, and hope that her words were enough to help him, before gently enveloping him in a warm hug to ease him.

Kili hated what had happened. He lived. His brother and their dear uncle was gone; died. And there was nothing he could have done to saved either of them. "How...how is it going to be okay?" he breathed out. "Isn't it bad enough, that my mother lost her grand-father, her father, my father...now her only brother and eldest son?!" Kili raised his voice in sad frustration.

Looking between them both, he sighed softly. "I do trust both of you, but I don't need either of you speaking for me!" Telling his mother, it was something he had to do himself. Not Yavanna, Not Saeril. But himself.

"I won't say a word, unless you want me to." Yavanna promised Kili. She knew where he was coming from. If she was in his situation, she wouldn't want him or Saeril to handle the matter for her; no matter how hard it was. Hearing Saeril, Yavanna sighed softly. "Saeril is right, Fili...and Th..Thorin might be gone. But they will never be forgotten." It was hard to say both names of the fallen Dwarves, right now. Seeing how Yavanna considered them family and dear friends. But she could not change what had happened. Things always happened for a reason. Including the deaths of loved one's.

When Saeril touched the side of his face...Kili could see visions. Images of Fili asking their god-mother to defend him, no matter what. Kili stumbled away a little, with tears in his eyes. When she hugged him, Kili stiffened for a moment, before he pulled back "I need...just leave me alone...both of you." he said. He needed time to think alone, what he would say to his mother and needed some space.

Looking at Yavanna, Saeril could only display what seems to be a mix of sadness and worry in her eyes, specifically for the young dwarf. In some ways, Kili was right; they couldn’t solve the problem for him, nor do anything about it. “We don’t intend to speak for you, Young Durin!”, there was sternness and slight condenscending in her voice, as she countered Kili’s words. As soon as the princess made her vow, Saeril’s voice softened once again. “You have our word”, and she meant it.

The elder knew she was only trying to help Kili, but it was then that she realized herself making it his situation even worse. For him to push away, Saeril stood back up to her full height, from where she kneeled down. As much as she didn’t want him to leave her sight, the Elven guardian knew she can’t prevent him from making his own decisions. Except for the ones that would easily get him into trouble, or result in something much worse. If he desired to be left alone, this was going to be the one occassion where she would ever comply on such a wish.

Saeril felt her efforts to be futile as she tried to help Kili mentally, and emotionally, recover from the events of battle. After having to sigh sadly to herself, that dull ache was back in her head, causing the elder to wince quietly.

It seemed like both of the she-elves felt the same amount of worry and concern for young Kili. Yavanna wasn't sure, who felt it more. Herself or Saeril as they both adored Kili in different ways. But at the same time, Kili was a young adult whom could make his own decisions so they had to respect that. Yavanna watched as Kili wandered away from the both of them; not looking behind to see the worried facial expressions on their faces as he left.

From the corner of her eyes; Yavanna couldn't help but notice Saeril flinch. Again. "Are you okay?" she asked her softly. "And do not tell me, it's nothing...it's not the first time, I've seen you wince at something...like something hurts you." Yavanna told her gently. Looking at her with a slight raised eyebrow.

Saeril closed her eyes for a brief moment, and took a breath, having to mentally will the pain to go away in such quick time. She heard Yavanna’s words and, releasing that same breath, the elder slowly opened her eyes, having to look at the ground, as she mentally sorted through a choice of words that she could say. “I’m sensing...”, she began. “...something dark”, she didn’t want to cover up the whole truth, but for their behalf, it would be better if she told at least half of it.

She couldn’t tell them of her former alliance, because, well, she might expect fear and tremendous amounts of confusion. Even though they weren’t necessarily hers, she loved them both, as if they were her own children; a daughter and a son. The last thing Saeril wanted, was to see disbelief, if they ever found out what she was subjected to. “Something stirs”.

As Yavanna watched Saeril, she was silent. Hoping for some kind of an answer from the elder she-elf. Biting down on her lower lip,she could sense that Saeril wasn't so open to saying what-ever it was. Just the way she said it; made Yavanna think there might be more to the story. But for now, it also seemed like a good explanation for her reactions if she was sensing something in the distance. Keeping quiet for a while, Yavanna had waited until Saeril spat out the words, she was trying to get out of her. It took a few moments for Yavanna to process the thoughts too.

"Do you think, he's slowly coming back?" Yavanna asked softly; trace of worry and fear in her voice.

Despite being young in age, Yavanna had heard stories and tales about the Dark Lord Sauron, growing up. So she was no stranger to the evil that was making his way back into their world.

In regards to Saeril’s physical state, Yavanna was now having the acknowledgment of becoming aware. Kili had managed to see it for a brief amount of time, but the elder stayed quiet on what the real reason was behind it. These headaches of hers were becoming more apparent, so both the princess and Kili were now becoming suspicious. Saeril knew she would have to spill it to them soon, but couldn’t; not now. Hearing her words, she didn’t want to confirm on her fears, but there was no hiding it.

“Yes”, she softly said, solemnly, not wanting to share it, but knew it was true. She feared that the battle was just the beginning, and that the dark lord wants to destroy all that is good, including hope. The antagonistic hunt for Kili may be over, but Yavanna was now in more danger than ever. She remembered what the enemy said during the battle; he was on the hunt for the princess too.

Instinctively, the elder reached a hand to gently place it on the back of the younger’s head, and gently allow her to lean against her, and lay it upon her shoulder. The winged she-elf now had another duty, she was to guard Middle-Earth’s Brightest Star, as well, and she was willing to put her life on the line to keep her safe.

Yavanna had not seen Saeril in such a state; as many times as Kili may have. But it was enough for her to know, that something may have been wrong. And this time, she felt glad that Saeril did not lie to her about what was wrong; but was letting her know that something was wrong.

Hearing that her suspicions and worries, about Sauron rising up were true caused a glum and worried expression to fill her eyes. And for more than few seconds, it made her wish Legolas was here; his presence made her feel more safe. Yavanna knew very well, that the enemy was after her too. Her death would only not cause tragedy for those who loved her and cared about her; but for the rest of Middle Earth...as all hope would perish with her death.

Feeling Saeril's comforting touch. Yavanna sighed slightly in worry. Leaning her head against the elder's shoulder. Feeling some sort of peace for a few moments; but her mind was racing with various thoughts, worries and concerns. Action needed to be taken, if there was any Hope left of Saving Middle Earth and all that was good.

Saeril sighed, once she held Yavanna in her arms. Such an individual was to be guarded at all times, and the elder was going to make sure that particular goal is met. One bad hand would be severed if it ever lands on her. Their ends would be met swiftly, and painfully. Of course, she would surely involve Legolas in this, as Yavanna and the Elf Prince held a special connection with each other, and it’s also because Saeril knew she could trust the princess in his care...as he had proved several times. She could only be glad that the girl was happy.

As she thought about this, the winged she-elf had managed to see the Prince inside the girl’s mind, once again, knowing that Yavanna was missing him very badly, only wishing and hoping that she will see him again. He had promised for his return, and to cross paths again, some day. Saeril gave the girl a light kiss to the forehead, reassuring her that she will do everything in her power to grant that wish. Maybe after they do this task, they could seek out Lord Elrond for answers.

Feeling Saeril kiss her forehead, in a motherly loving way. It was almost as if Saeril knew what was on her mind. Searil had sussed that out more than once, in the time they had known each other. Yavanna gave Saeril a gentle smile. Maybe a little bit sad, but a small smile nonetheless.

Yavanna just hoped, that where the roads would take Legolas; that he'd remain safe and unharmed. Yavanna tried to think of something else; and she couldn't help but think off her family. She missed her elder sister, her father and her grand-parents. All of them were very wise. Maybe one might hold more answers, on how to help stop the evil spreading. But first, they needed to deal with things here...for Kili especially. Kili needed his mother right now.

Saeril continued to hold the girl until her Elven ears picked up on distant footsteps behind them. Having to release Yavanna for a moment, the elder turned around to see a few Dwarven men and women approaching them, more in a very curious yet cautious manner. They appeared to never see such strange visitors, and yet, they were trying to wonder who the strangers were.
