Looking back at the approaching pack, the winged she-elf first thought that she would end this by herself, but she couldn't be stubborn to let this be the last of her and Azog coming paths. He was for Thorin to slay, his vendetta. However, it didn't stop her from forcing herself to run at the approaching warg, and taking flight towards the creature. Stabbing the beast, Saeril knocked it off the cliff nearby, before noticing herself being surrounded by the ferocious beasts. At least she would be able to slow them down for the company to flee.

As they ran at her, Saeril made a 360 degree spin-attack with her daggers, before taking flight once again. Her leg was throbbing a little, but she ignored it. The Durin were at risk. "Climb into the trees!", she heard the wizard tell the company as they reached a dead end on the road.

One by one, everyone began to climb up the trees. As fast as they could. Kili tried to insist that Yavanna went first. "Oh no, you boys first." Yavanna told Kili and his brother. "But..." Kili tried to protest. Yavanna just pointed to the tree. She wasn't going to let the boys get hurt, by going first. Kili huffed slightly, but began to climb up the tree...as high as he possibly could.

After Yavanna made sure the boys were up safe; she began to climb the tree herself. She swung her slim body upwards...so she could rest upon one of the branches...near the Durin Heirs. Bilbo was one of the last one's to climb into the trees once he caught up with the Company.

The wargs had caught up with them, and they were now trapped to the tree. The monsters had ceased their growling, then turned as the white warg, with Azog on its back, approached.

Azog smirked cruelly, he seemed to take delight in seeing Thorin's shock. “Do you smell it? The scent of fear?" The Pale Orc stroked his warg with his hand, and then his steely gaze matched Thorin's as he spoke in black speech. “I remember your father reeked of it, Thorin son of Thrain."

“That one is mine." Azog faced his mini army as he sent them to attack. “Kill the others!"
At his command, the Wargs ran forward and tried to climb the trees. They jumped as high as they could, clawing
at the tree trunks and breaking apart branches in their jaws. The trees shook violently at the assault, and the company struggled to hold on.
"Drink their blood!" Azog's attention was drawn to Saeril, and recognition showed in his eyes. During the days of her corruption, she had sent him to cause destruction upon Moria.

"Do you have further orders?" This was a taunt, for Azog knew of her crimes, and he made sure that she was reminded of them. The she-elf screeched at the Pale Orc's taunt before she shouted Black Speech to the creatures. After this action, the winged elf aggressively collided and toppled one of the warts who tried to climb a tree, toppling it over the cliff. Knowing that it wasn't over yet, the female made a u-turn, and charging back to hit one of them head-on.

Thinking quick, Gandalf retrieved a pinecone, and conjured blazing fire upon it. "Fili!", he passed one down to the eldest prince below, as well as the others, and throwing the blazing object at the creatures, creating a trailing wall of fire to get them away from the tree.

As Yavanna glanced down; from her spot. She saw the Pale Orc. She noticed instead of a hand, he had a hook or a claw of sorts. The Pale Orc, looked menacing. She felt a shiver down her spine, as she heard Azog speak.

Thorin looked over his shoulder. And sure enough...there was Azog, the Defiler. Well, and alive. Still...after all these years. He looked quite shocked. He thought, it was just rumors...that the Goblin, was joking. "It cannot be." he muttered to himself.

As the Wargs began to jump up the trees. Yavanna lost her grip briefly. But Kili managed to catch her, pulling her close to him and Fili. The trees shook so much...the wargs began to tip them over. Causing the Dwarves and Yavanna, and Bilbo to jump from tree to tree...until the entire company...were left on one tree...right at the edge of the cliffs.

Bilbo got a few pine cones himself. Throwing them down. Yavanna, Kili, Balin and the others all threw down the objects down. The ground near the tree caught fire, the Wargs Shrieked, backing away from the tree. One of the Wargs caught on fire...growling and snarling...it run past Saeril and his master. The Dwarves got exited, they were backing away...as they cheered...the roots of the tree gave way. Yavanna gasped...holding onto the branch tightly...as the tree leaned backwards.

Two of the dwarves slightly slipped...holding onto each other...but bringing the tree down bit futher. "Mr Gandalf." they gasped out. Kili groaned out, as he held onto the tree bit tighter. Yavanna's leg slipped slightly; letting out a gasp as she tried to pull herself up again.

Thorin suddenly turned to face the Pale Orc. Locking eyes with him. An intense look in his eyes. He stood up carefully on the tree trunk and began to walk towards Azog. The Pale Orc...vs him. Like it was meant to be. If anyone would end Azog this day, it would be him. Bilbo watched in slight shock, as Thorin approached Azog.

As Dori fell backwards out of the tree, Ori lunged to try and grab him, but fell out himself, crying out. "Mr Gandalf!!", hearing their pleas, the wizard quickly stuck out his staff the dwarf could grab on to, and kept a hold of it, with Ori hanging tightly onto Dori's foot. They were safe, for now.

The attack never made its mark; Azog was one step ahead. With the assist of his warg, he was faster, and both attacked Thorin first. Thorin managed to swing his sword, but he was thrown to the ground, then hit with Azog's mace as Fili and the others looked on in shock.

Saeril couldn't believe that Thorin would do such a thing. An opportunity that could result in death. He shouldn't, and couldn't, die now. She looked at her godsons, and then back to the wounded Thorin. She hovered herself above the fire, blowing at the flames towards Azog with huge gusts of wind, and landed on the ground a few yards away from the Orc, the reflecting blazes of the fire radiating from her figure.

At the same moment, The White Warg clamped its jaws around Thorin. Fili's eyes widened in horror as he heard his uncle yell out in pain; the sound was foreign to him, for he'd always believed his uncle immortal, and yet here he was, at risk of being slaughtered before their eyes. Even Saeril felt herself vulnerable once she witnessed Thorin's agony.

Dwalin tried to leave his place in order to assist Thorin, but the tree branches he held onto broke, swinging him over the edge and preventing him from reaching his king.

Bilbo stood up carefully on the tree. As he saw Thorin being attacked..he made his way down the tree himself. Then with a warrior like yell...he tackled away another Orc, that was about to chop Thorin's head off after, Thorin had passed out from the pain. But not before, Thorin caught sight of the young Hobbit, trying to be brave and ward of the Orc.

Yavanna gasped, as she heard Thorin's cries of agony. Whilst it was brave of Thorin to face his enemy. It was also dangerous...whilst they were in a situation like this one. But young Bilbo had courage. Bilbo groaned and stabbed the orc that pinned him down a few times in the chest. With groans and grunts. It was the first Orc, he had killed. To defend his friends. Standing up, he heard Azog order the Wargs to attack. Not that he understood, but it was clear When the Wargs began to face young Bilbo.
The Hobbit swung his sword...trying to ward them off. But they kept getting closer.

But some dwarves came to his rescue. Including Kili and even the young Yavanna, whom had pulled out her own sword. With elegant, yet swift spins she stabbed a Wargs, right in the heart before stabbing an orc, that went to attack Saeril from behind. Luckily, she had been close enough to notice and defend Saeril.

Saeril smiled in thanks to the younger elf, before she turned her attention to Azog. The Orc growled in anger to see the acts of heroism from all present. "Have you come in an attempt to erase your crimes?", he looked up to Saeril before him, his soulless eyes reflecting the flames around them. In black speech, he cursed her name. "You, and the Son's of Durin will die on this day!", with that, he gave a roar and charged towards her, his mace in hand.

Saeril stayed put as Azog charged, remarkably not being phased by the approaching creature he was perched upon. Closing her eyes, the she-elf bent down to one knee as if in prayer. Sheathing out the two curved daggers, she listened to the pacing footsteps of the warg, measuring its movements, its proximity, and its weight. Her elf-ears didn't fail her; at the split second of it nearly biting at her, she propelled her slim body over the beast, using the blades to cut its face, nearly at its eye.

The she-elf gave another hiss at the Orc before hovering above the Dwarven King, shielding her now-friend from harm; the fire trailed its orange glow upon her figure, making her eyes seemingly glow with it.

Yavanna gave Saeril a soft smile and nod, as she was saying welcome. She ducked out of the way...as a Warg leaped at her. But the beast landed in the fire...that was near by. Yavanna caught a glimpse of Saeril; seeing the way the elder she elf moved. Her movements were precise, and impressive. Unlike Yavanna, Saeril must have had lots of experience. But the young she-elf couldn't help but wonder, what Azog meant by his harsh words to Saeril.

Bilbo lost his balance, falling backwards. Kili fired a few arrows, slaying the Wargs that went to attack the young Hobbit. Kili then noticed Eagles. Eagles were coming to the rescue. A few of the Eagles began to grab the Wargs...tossing them off of the cliffs...or into the fire.

Kili glanced over at his uncle worried. Thorin had not waken up yet...as an eagle picked him up. His head fell back...his body rather limp and his Oaken branch slipped off his injured arm. The Eagles also grabbed Kili, Fili, Yavanna, one grabbed Bilbo...whom let out a slight scream...as he dropped him onto another's back. Yavanna found herself on the same Eagle as Fili and Kili. But she watched the Eagle, flying with Thorin. Worried look in her eyes.

As the tree was slowly giving more away...the eagles rescued every single Dwarf that was on that three...or slipping from it.

Saeril braced herself for the incoming weapon strike of Azog's mace, but then she heard a screech; a great eagle swooping down from the sky, and knocked him off course. More eagles dove out of the sky, some attacking the wargs and orcs whilst others picked up the dwarves, including Thorin, and the wizard out of the tree to safety. At that moment, the she-elf sheathed her weapons, and ran off the cliff directly, shortly after, spreading her wings and taking flight.

"Thorin!", she heard Fili shout, sounding obviously terrified for his unconscious uncle. Barely awake he was, Saeril managed to look at the unconcious Prince, letting out a relieved sigh that he, Yavanna, and the rest of the company were safe. She did let out a quiet hiss of pain from her wounded leg that was still trying to heal itself, but tried to keep it quiet to not let the princess or her godsons immediately worry about her wellbeing.

Yavanna heard the fear in Fili's voice. Her hand gently touched his, giving it a soft squeeze. Her other hand squeezed Kili's. She looked at him and Kili with soft affection. As if she was trying to calm them both down...but she worried about Thorin. She hoped, it was not too late to safe his life. Kili felt her hand and he smiled at the young Princess softly. Glad, that she was among them.

The flight was beautiful. Yavanna took in the beauty of middle-earth, despite what was going on few moments ago. But they were safe, as Azog the Defiler and his Orcs cursed, that the Sons of Durin, Saeril and the young-she elf were gone, along with the rest of the Company. For a moment, she thought she heard Saeril let out a grunt of pain of her own. But it might have been something else.

She had no idea, how long the flight was. But it was nice to get some rest for a little while. Eventually the Eagles began to swoop down, landing on a large piece of Boulder. The Eagle gently laid down Thorin, first...before flying away again.

Thorin laid there, out cold. His breathing shallow. But he was still alive..

Fili looked back at the princess, and gave her a smile that was almost forced, but genuinely affectionate. He was thrilled that everybody, including Yavanna, was safe, but his heart was still worried about Thorin.

"Thorin!", Gandalf ran to the fallen dwarf Prince, once he removed himself from the eagle's back. Fili was already starting to run to his fallen uncle, but he couldn't get any further as the wizard kneeled beside Thorin. Gandalf muttered something elvish under his breath, while hovering and passing his hand over the dwarf's face.

Saeril was too stubborn; funny it may sound, but her youngest godson, and the younger she-elf were not too far away. She risked her life by facing the most vile of all of creatures to keep the remaining Durin family, the princess, and the company, safe from his pack. The injury wasn't going to stop her from moving either; she made a promise, she will keep it. For Dis, and the rest of the royal family.

Yavanna saw the forced yet genuinely affectionate smile. She wished she could ease Fili's worry about his uncle. But she did not know how. As their Eagle was landing...she saw Gandalf was already leaning over Thorin.

Thorin slowly opened his eyes, letting out a slight groan "Gandalf." he looked up at the Wizard "The Halfling...where is he?" he asked, as he slowly sat up. Bilbo's Eagle had already landed, not long after Gandalfs and he was watching worried. But glad, to see that Thorin was awake...and seemingly okay.

"Don't worry, he's here, and quite safe", the wizard reassured the dwarven Prince, before turning his attention to the Hobbit. With that said, Fili and Dwalin helped the Dwarf king to his feet. Just as he insisted that he was fine, he stood back with his brother, Yavanna, and his godmother.

As Kili got off the eagle, he helped Yavanna down...lightly placing her on her feet. He stood by her side, watching his uncle. He was glad to see Thorin was awake and alert. Yavanna bit her bottom lip, as she stood besides the two brothers, watching their uncle. She did not know what to expect from Thorin. Neither did the rest of them.

Bilbo gave a soft smile, as Gandalf said he was fine. Thorin patted Fili's shoulder; before he walked over to Bilbo. "You? What were you thinking? You nearly got yourself killed!" he said. "Did I not say, that you would be a burden? That you did not know how to survive in the wild. That you were not one of us..." Thorin paused slightly. "I never been so wrong in my life." Thorin then embraced the Hobbit in a hug. "I am sorry I doubted you." he said, honestly.

Bilbo was probably as surprised, and shocked as the rest of them. But smiled, as he embraced Thorin back in a hug. Giving him a light pat on the back. "I would have doubted me too. I am not a Hero...not a warrior...not even a Burglar." Bilbo said with a slight chuckle. Balin just smiled, as he saw the moment between Bilbo and Thorin.

Thorin smiled softly at the Hobbit. "I don't know about that. You showed some courage, Master Baggins." he told him; before he turned to face Yavanna. "And you." he said, a little sharply. Walking over to her.

Yavanna stiffened slightly besides Fili; as she heard his uncle address her. Wondering, if this was going to be good or bad? She was happy, that he seemed to accept Bilbo, and even apologize to the Hobbit. What was he planning on doing about her?

"Why?" Thorin simply asked her.

"Why what?" Yavanna said softly. "Why did I come? Why I saved your life, after the Storm Giants and defended you from the Goblin King?" she asked softly. "I care..I care about your Nephews. The two seem like a bit of trouble-makers. Maybe I worried about them, getting up to something. I don't want them to get hurt..." she said, giving Kili and Fili a teasing smile. "I care about you all...including you." Yavanna told Thorin with a smile. "I know, you don't like me....but I know there's...a good man in there somewhere. Beneath all that cold facade you put on." She spoke in a soft voice. "Besides, if we are to take Erebor back...we need you alive. The Mountain can't be without it's King."

Thorin was quite for a few moments. Maybe he had too misjudged the girl...a little too quickly. He gave her a soft smile.

Fili was worried at first, and his instincts told him to defend Yavanna again, but Thorin's words were not to be expected. He was surprised but then a finding smile began to form upon his features. With her confidence, the blonde took her hand, and lightly squeezed it.

Saeril gave a soft smile to the younger elf, just to keep her spirits up. Her wings transformed back into her cloak, and her hair waved lightly in the wind, all while keeping her hand in Kili's grip.

Yavanna noticed, Fili's worried look from the corner of his eyes. She squeezed his back softly, as she felt his grip. She smiled back at Saeril; a warm look in her eyes. Even Kili for a few moments worried, but seeing his uncle smiling at Yavanna...made his worried look turn into a goofy happy smile. Kili held onto Saeril's hand, giving it a squeeze, as he smiled up at his God-Mother.

"I was wrong to doubt you." Thorin said looking at Yavanna. "I never met a young elf...so kind and courages, like you before. I am glad, my boys have you." he said with a soft smile. Thorin always liked calling Kili and Fili, his boys. "I am glad, we all have you. You're more kind, more kind to me than I deserve." he added, his voice bit quite. It wasn't usually, he admitted anything like this to an elf before. His hand reached out, touching Yavanna's chee softly. Like a father might, giving it a soft pat. "I think, you have quite the affect on both my Nephews...they seem a little taken with you." he said, slightly teasing.

Yavanna was both surprised and touched, by Thorin's words and gesture. But his last words were enough to make her blush.

Cleaning his throat, Thorin turned to Saeril. The same soft look he had for Yavanna, and Bilbo was still in his eyes as he looked at the elder she-elf. "I am not sure how to thank you. You didn't need to do what you done back there...but if it wasn't for you...or Bilbo...or our young Princess...I wouldn't be alive. Thank you." he gave her a soft smile. "And welcome to the family. Just don't let the boys, get into too much trouble." he said with a slight chuckle.

Kili's smile brightened and he grinned over at his brother exited. "So...does this mean, me and Fili get to keep them both?" he asked, cheerfully.

Yavanna couldn't help but giggle, as she heard Kili. Shaking her head, but still blushing. "What are we, on the market?" she teased him. Of course, she knew he probably didn't mean to phrase it like he did. But it was rather amusing.

Saeril looked to Thorin, just as he acknowledged her. Just like in Yavanna's case, the Dwarven king's words were not at all what the she-elf expected; after all, she prepared herself for a scold coming from him, not an apology. At least he now didn't see her as a threat, or a nuisance, to his nephews now.

Saeril gave a good-hearted, honored smile, already feeling the goodness, and no ill-will, coming from Thorin. "I am truly grateful, son of Durin. My debt has been paid, as I was bent on a promise. A promise, that I intend to fulfill", the she-elf said with determination to their king, wavering the last sentence to her godsons, as well as Yavanna. At least Saeril was now on the right foot with the company's leader now, and that they were now allies, and not enemies.

But as soon as "family" was mentioned, Saeril did feel a little guilt within herself. Truth be told, the she-elf missed Dis. Only a few years of fellowship, and all Saeril remembered was her happiness of having two boys that were only five years apart. However, the memory of being given the title as "godmother" was a negative recap. She abandoned Dis, right after she was asked on the promise to watch her boys, if she ever couldn't.

However, the winged she-elf snapped back to reality, when she heard Kili's voice. It made her chuckle good-heartedly and amusingly.

Both Kili and Yavanna heard Saeril's words about a promise. Yavanna smiled at the elder she-elf. Kili squeezed his god-mothers hand, with a warm smile on his face.

The Dwarven king just nodded as he heard Saeril. "So far, you have kept the boys safe. I am sure, it is a promise, you'll fullfill as it seems." He said, with a soft smile. He then chuckled, as he heard his nephews words. But he couldn't help but smile. "I didn't know, you liked she-elves that much, Kili." he teased his nephew.

"Never met anyone like sweet Yavanna before." Kili replied. He was very fond of her. He did enjoy a little flirting, teasing. It seemed like she did not mind, as she teased him back...or either blushed. "Not to mention, I love my God-Mother." He said proudly. Saeril meant a lot to him. The young Dwarf just grinned cheekily, hearing Yavanna and Saeril's laugh. "You know, you love me and Fili." he told the princess, with a wink.

Yavanna just giggled, at Kili. But she smiled warmly "Well, you are both very adorable." she said with a smile, and playfully tapped Kili's nose. Kili just grinned, scrunching up his nose a little as she tapped it...but chuckled warmly. In the distance, Yavanna noticed a mountain. For some reason, it seemed to stand out to her. "Is that...what I think it is?" The young she-elf asked looking at the Mountain.

Saeril gently placed her free hand on Kili's shoulder when he mentioned his love for her, having to return the acknowledgement with the warm gesture of a smile. Fili chuckled with them, and kept his grip gentle upon Yavanna's hand.

However, upon hearing the princess' observation, the blonde and Saeril looked up as well. "Erebor! The Lonely Mountain. The last of the Great Dwarf Kingdoms of Middle-earth", Gandalf explained. "Our home", Fili breathed out in astonishment. A bird starts to fly towards the mountain. "A raven! The birds are returning!", Dwalin exclaimed when it flew by.

"That, my dear Dwalin, is a thrush", Gandalf corrected him, pleased however as it was just the bird that they needed to fly past. The thrush would be the one to show them the hidden door.

Kili smiled up at Saeril...his free hand touched the one she had on his shoulder...giving it a squeeze. He then glanced towards the Mountain with his brother, and God-mother. He stared at it wonder and he smiled. It seemed, they were getting closer.

Yavanna smiled, her hand soft and gentle in Fili's. She giggled as she heard Dwalin. He needed a little bit of an education on his birds. "They are good Omen's you know." she said with a warm smile.

Thorin smiled. "Then we will take, as a good sign." He acknowledged, as he looked towards the Lonely Mountain with a smile on his face.

Bilbo nodded with a smile on his face. "You know what...I think you're right. I believe the worst is behind us." They were safe now, and getting closer to where they were meant to be. It indeed seemed like good luck, was ahead of them. Or so Bilbo could only hope.

As the Thrush flew away to the Lonely Mountain. It landed by a hidden door...on a small rock. His tiny little beak started pecking at the stone wall. The noise echoed through out the entire mountain and the halls of the halls within.
Inside something majestic and loud, let out a snort. Pieces of Gold and jewels uncovered a great eye. As the eye opened. It seemed like Smaug the Dragon, was waking up.
