I have a grandfather who tried to join the army when he was much much younger.

I was 18 when I enlisted in the US Army. I was 23 when I was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. I was 39 when I retired.

I also looked at a navy pamphlet at a career fair about three years later at 18, in high school. never told my mom about it to this day.

I was interested in the a.s.p.c.a in high school for a time.

My son has spoken of trying to get into the Naval Academy at Annapolis after High School. I will support him only because he intends on being a Marine rather than a Naval officer.

growing up, I wanted to be a writer.

I recall one time waking up on a Sunday at 8AM. I went about my day doing whatever it was I had to do that day including splitting a cord of wood. Then I went to work from 12AM to 8AM the next morning (24 hours). The next morning when I got off work, I went to school. I was a college student too. I attended class until around noon. Then ate a meal and did some studying. I went to work the next day from 4PM to 12AM (40 Hours). Then I had an opportunity to cover an overtime shift until 8AM and did so (48 hours). Next, I covered another shift until Noon (52 hours). When that was over, I went home and bed. I believe I slept the next 12 to 16 hours. I estimate I was awake 54 hours over the course of a three day period.

I had a broken collar bone when I was three. my mom said that we had been in a bad car accident. the car had flipped over and everything. a carless driver in another car had been involved.

I might be remembering wrong, but until my mum informs me otherwise, my first Sonic the Hedgehog game was the (for some reason despised?) 2005 Shadow the Hedgehog game. I don't remember how old I was, but I was definitely not the recommended age. I loved it to bits, and if I ever got the chance to play it again, I would probably enjoy it even more because I was fucking awful at it.

I spent many, many nights staring into the darkness and remembering things I do not recall. In those sleepless periods, where I was to wake, I wrote many strange and abstract things that only served as meditations and reflections on my person. They were often incoherent, train of thought, but better than the alternative of drifting off to sleep and facing severe reprimand for it. With the added benefit of piecing together musings that come when the mind is left to itself. In many ways I became so accustomed to this that I now near envy that period of seeming eternity as it allowed going to the places I never imagined. It opened the doors to confrontations with the self and soul.
