The Nine Realms; a group of distant planets, interconnected by the cosmic nimbus Yggdrasil. On the head-planet of Asgard, sitting right above the existence of Midgard (better known as "Earth"), the beings that thrive there, are the Asgardians, an extra-dimensional race, who were worshiped as gods by the Scandinavian and Germanic tribes. With origins shrouded in myth, it left humans to believe them as said-myths: Thor, true to his title, gave them the rain; Balder, the sun; Sif, plantlife and battle intelligence; and Tyr, who gave courage to those in warfare. Aside from them, there were also morally-ambiguous gods, like tricksters Loki and Lochila, who revel in acts of mischief and discord.
Centuries later, the realm and its economy have changed drastically: Odin passes away, Tyr and the huntress Aldriff choose exile, and Loki is imprisoned, resulting the monarch to pass down to Thor, who takes Sif as his queen, and becomes father to a baby-girl named Torunn. As punishment, goddess of mischief Lochila is sentenced to look after the child on Earth, for all eternity. As a seemingly-mortal woman, Lochila teaches Torunn the humility and wisdom of mankind. Reaching the appearance of an eighteen year-old, the latter discovers her dormant abilities, before coming across a sword of great power, when it falls from the sky. Finding herself as the only one worthy to pick up such a weapon when no other could, her real heritage is revealed; her family were beings from another world, who will teach Torunn how to embrace her Asgardian nature, as well as unleash and control her true power.
