In the last Holy Grail War, Gilgamesh the king of kings was the victor. However, before his wish could be heard by the world and his master. Gilgamesh took the Grail in his hands and in a flash the two were gone. Now, 25 years later the Holy Grail has once again returned to the world. High above London floats a massive castle made of gold and from the castle, a voice boomed across the world.

“Mortals, peasants, and all others who are nothing more than the dirt beneath my feet! Bear witness to the might trinket that is the Holy Grail! By my will, I announce that the Holy Grail War has begun. By my creed, I will judge all those who wish to obtain my property and shall judge all combatants. I will deem the winner worthy of my treasure for I am Gilgamesh, the King of kings, and the one true wielder of the Grail. Once you have summoned your heroic spirit and established the pact with them. You will be granted access to my castle and the Holy Grail War shall begin!”

Gilgamesh seemed to now control the Holy Grail since he now sits on his throne with the Grail sitting on a pedestal next to him. However, the battle area is not the only thing Gilgamesh has altered for this year’s Holy Grail War. Gilgamesh has somehow taken control of the Grail and forced the Grail to alter the rules of this year’s battle. In the past, the Grail War has allowed Seven Heroic spirits from the different classes (Saber, Archer, Lancer, Berserker, Rider, Caster, and Assassin) to be transported to this word to fight under the master that summoned them. However, Gilgamesh has forced the Grail to open three slots for each class so the Grail war can be more entertaining. He’s also forced the Grail to add a few new classes to this year’s Grail War: Trickster, Illusionist, Executioner, and Alchemist.

The Grail has strained in both power and magic to obey his command and in doing so the Grail has become corrupted and has strained to make his will a reality. With every spirit summoned by a master, the Grail grows more corrupted and weak. However, Gilgamesh seems not to notice the Grail's wavering state and seems to only care for his own amusement. What he fails to realize is that with every spirit slain in battle and sent back to the Grail the corruption grows. It seems that Gilgamesh’s actions have pushed the Grail to its very breaking point which could mean the end of the Grail marking this year’s Grail War the final battle.

I'd be interested. Are any Servants from Fate canon alright? And is there a power level you'd be aiming for?

If I can ever figure out a mage CS, I'd be interested. I have a servant sheet lying around from an rp that never took off. Quite a few questions though, because I foresee this getting very out of hand very easily.
Kinda sucks that you banned Accelerator, but I don't see Medaka Kurokami, half the cast of One Piece... Kamijou Touma and Kamisato Kakeru ffs. In fact, just banning the main characters from a lot of those characters' series leaves some equally powerful characters available.
I guess I don't understand if you plan on the characters simply being as they are in their series but brought to a new world, or if you plan on the characters being morphed to fit the mold of Fate servants. For example, Accelerator pre-brain damage or post-WW3 would be obviously overpowered if brought in as-is, but there's an argument for him not being too powerful if he's remade under Fate's rules and had his battery power limit. Similarly, it's odd to ban Light Yagami since his power comes from an item and specifically requires someone's full name, something that Servants already hide on principal. Even with the Death Note as his Noble Phantasm, in order for it to work he'd need to somehow learn a target's name, and giving it some magic reason to not work on non-servants would be easy. Even just "he's a servant and it's not an actual Death Note but a power resembling it, thereby making it only work on Servants/those not participating in the HGW" would suddenly make him logically viable.
There's also the question of how faithful to the character's origins they have to be. What about multiple sources, such as Frost from DBS? His character in the anime and manga are very different from each other. To use an ambiguous example, Chara from Undertale raises some questions. There's very little canon information about them, and a lot of what's there is fairly up for interpretation. How would a Servant like that work? How much of a character can fit into their Servant self before having to allocate traits to their NP? Can a fictional character be used as a Master or only Servants? Either way, does the content they originate from exist in-world or are they totally unknown and only work through some new system that bypasses the need for a legend? Are Servants summoned randomly or is a suitable catalyst still needed?
Does this war use the Stay Night, Extra, Extella, or Grand Order system, or a brand new one? Are class statistics important or are they more suggestions than rules, and to what degree?
Are you expecting players to have multiple characters beyond the one Servant/one Master per player, or are you planning to try to get all of those character slots filled separately? If fictional characters are allowed as Servants, does that mean fictional OCs are allowed? At what point does diversion from the source character into an OOC version does a character stop being allowed? What about multiple versions of the same character appearing as Servants? Further, what about the potential for Lily, Alter, etc. versions of characters from non-Fate series? Would Lily Goku be acceptable, for example? What about imaginary characters within a series, such as Suzushina Yuriko? If someone didn't use a fictional character, how much freedom do they have in making an actual historical or real-life mythological person into a Servant? What about summons into classes that don't necessarily make sense right away, like Gilgamesh's various class summons or Lancer Artoria for example. Could Krillin be summoned as a Saber, for example, because his Distructo-Disc is a cutting technique? Would he be able to be a Rider because he can fly, or an Archer because of his ki blasts, or would he be forced into Caster because of his ki usage, etc.?
Sorry for all the questions, but if this actually takes off I'd be pretty interested and I want to have a solid understanding of the rules and world before I try to make any CSs.

Let me answer these to my best ability:

for Medaka Kurokami I've not seen Medaka Box so I'm not sure how powerful she actually is. as for Kamijou Touma and Kamisato Kakeru. I overlooked them and totally forgot about them so I take full responsibility for that. I do see your point with most of the characters of One Piece and most other animes since the main character might not be as strong as another character in the anime. however, I never thought about nerfing many characters under Fates rules so I'll look into changing the rules a bit. I'm still going to keep a few characters on the ban list, but that's just for the sake of keeping everything fair.

There's also the question of how faithful to the character's origins they have to be. What about multiple sources, such as Frost from DBS? for being Faithful to the character I'm allowing either the anime, Manga, or a combination of both as long as it's not overpowered or god-like. if the character has little to no backstory on their information then they won't be accepted and as for the requirements for servants being summoned. it's random. the master will create a pact and a random servant will heed their call. all the master has to do is call for a servant and one will randomly heed their call.

Are you expecting players to have multiple characters beyond the one Servant/one Master per player, or are you planning to try to get all of those character slots filled separately? If fictional characters are allowed as Servants, does that mean fictional OCs are allowed? I only expect people to have one servant and one master. if they chose to have more that's up to them and if the slots are empty. I only have so many slots to allow anyone one to play the servant they want. the OC's I'm only allowing are for masters, not servants. Lilly characters can be allowed if their non-Lilly counterpart isn't in already and vise-versa. for that, I'll let you know if a Lilly character or normal character has been taken. as for the class system, I'm leaving that up to the RPGer. if they feel a character needs to be one class over the other then they need to explain why.

Hopefully that helps. let me know if you have anymore questions

That does answer most of my questions. I'll have to wait for a finalized ban list and how the Fate rules will be applied to Servant creation before I can make a CS, though.

Does that means that LN or video game versions aren't allowed? For example, the Idol spin-off of Raildex or one of the Raildex games. In those cases it would really just be to give more freedom in how they act and give a basis to build their Servant stats from, respectively.
I'd still like to know if the series the Servants are from exist in-universe or not, since that could completely change how the war works compared to Fate canon wars, since information about the Servants would be readily available to everyone.

Alright, I only asked because there's quite a few openings for people to join, so I was unsure on how big you expected the RP's group to get.
I'm still a little unclear on whether a character can be somewhat out of character for their canon self or if they have to be played completely faithfully to their source material.
And just to make sure, would Alter versions be allowed or only standard and Lily?

I think that's all of my questions.

I would try to join but not sure who i'd even make, and the fact of having to make a master and a servant means is also a conundrum, its not something that's difficult, it's just i've barely even done a group rp with 1 character, let alone 2 so i dont know how that will go. That being said I'm willing to give it a shot if it means that i get to throw my hat into the roleplaying ring (since most of the roleplays i want to join never pick up anywhere and i've been hoping i can join 1 that doesnt just turn into an erp out of nowhere and that's all will happen). Part of me wants to either have kato danzo be my choice for a servant with a master that tries to teach them that even people that are considered tools are allowed to have emotions, or choose a berserker like pent and have someone who has to learn how to control them be their master (maybe a nice person that thinks that she can calm her down and get her to listen to what she tells her to do despite not being physically strong, maybe even have a moment where she in turn learns how to toughen up and become stronger herself in the process.) Not sure really, i want to make them as good as possible, that or make them a semi jerk that throughout the war learns to be a little nicer and betters herself in the long run. I'll see in time, hopefully by then there will be more people who will join in as well
