Normal Humans: Remember your leader is Sir Gawain, and all the knights are very dear to your hearts. They inspire you and are great warriors, however the loss of so many and the king and queen themselves is a heavy weight. your spirits are broken for now, but in time someone will give you hope.
Foreign Knights: All Rebels Must Die.
Welsh: Your are more Tribal law than Kingdom law, but you still follow a king. They have lent you to aid the old table of King Arthur, in hopes to either Annex what remains or rebuild it to continue to respect the old ways, despite being a christian kingdom. They are respectable people, known for their loyalty and strength of character, even if they are misled in some ideals. the Saxons wish to twist the good peoples of Camelot against the old ways however, and the treacherous men will do anything in their power to rid us of the old treaties King Arthur fought so hard to enforce. you have been ordered Not to let those treaties be in vain, and to work with the Saxons, even if they are not to be trusted. Defend yourselves if you must, but do not seek Saxon blood- not until they break the treaty, which they surely will when they see good Welsh warriors joining Camelots ranks.
Saxons: You were sent by your lord and the church to recover the items and relics of Camelot, so that they may be blessed to the knights, and the fallen knights also be blessed and given true burial as befitting knights of a christian kingdom. Along with offering aid to once great allies who sought to bring peace through tolerance and respect.... However the greedy welsh wish to annex the golden kingdom themselves, and the church would much rather see it burn than become a den of pagans and witches. Even if Camelots law forbids the act of witch hunts and culling, should they interfere. . . You've been told to put them down.
Changelings: You were sent by your Fae lords to see to it that the once great Kingdom of Camelot does not fall, or falls with honor. King Arthur enforced treaties that aided all of Britannia, and while your lords do what they can to stem the tide of the darker beings int he forest, you have been sent to aid Camelot in its darkest hours, seek the new heir and help them rise to glory, as King Arthur once did.
Rulers: Keep yourselves safe! If you die your line Ends, and you will not be given an easy second chance! For the glory of your fathers, and mercy of your mothers, Do Not Fall! More importantly, Slay the pretender, your rival.
Traitors: You know who you are, and you know you are one... but who knows who is who? Nobody knows in this twisted game of politics, and there's no series better named for it... Hope you got the game down as strong as "Little Finger", cuz your life is gunna be HARD. Just because you cant die, doesn't mean you can't Fail or have a change of heart.
Roles Up for grabs: Lancelot's child, the Dulac ruler.
The Fall Of Camelot, the silence of Avalon, and the death of the King. These three factors have left King Arthur's kingdom in disarray, and the whole world is watching as Britannia fall under a black sky and winds as warm as breath. Even the forest of Bedigraine to the north of the habitable lands seems to have taken in a deep breath in apprehension. And yet? Here you are.
(Enjoy some Dark/Dystopian styled music from youtube while you read my horrible, barely legible grammar and spelling.) youtube.com/watch?v=pEhI8wJrI6Q
In this RP you take the roles of Squires and Knights of Camelot (Note; Knights of Camelot are not the same as the Knights of the Round Table), Your current commander is Sir Gawain, and while yes, Sir Gawain is a living legend and a true born monster slayer, the bane of Fae and man alike, He is not a one man army. That's why he has You guys... But, before we get into that!
First we need Roles, and people who are up for which roles. While everyone is a knight not everyone is born Equal. We Need 2 Rulers and 2 Changelings.
In the comments below please state if you would be Open to making a Ruler, or a Changeling, You can opt in for both, But do not get upset if you are not a changeling or a Ruler.
"Why Is This Important?" The Balance of the RP depends on it, along with the plot. Rulers have a bit of plot armor that makes them near impossible to kill off, unless certain events happen. Changelings start off stronger than the mortal knights, but have less of a chance to find gear and items from lost knights and keeps. Humans are Squishier, but have a better chance to find items and "Mini Quests" to get them. (Note, only Rulers can find Excalibur and The "Sword Of Quality", but that does not mean you cannot find things like "Red Marble", and other such epic weapons... Of Course... I never said they would be Easy either.)
Oh, by the way, did I mention there's a Traitor in the group yet? "Judas" here will be something very special . . . oh, and I'll be picking him/her in secret~
You can request to be a Foreign knight, of which there can be 2. the Traitor will look like a Foreign knight... Perhaps~
Rulers Have Been Chosen!
Opts for Changelings: Renval Vesuvius
Opts for The Traitor: (If you opt in here, you opt in for Foreign Knight too ;3 so nobody can tell~) 6 people have opted in. (No Names? Hahah, Well...)
Opts for Foreign Knights: Vesuvius Amaranth KatKook MonkeyBusiness
BlackPanther Congrats on receiving a Foreign Knight!

Notes:
Magic is Earned by everyone (Excluding the Druid... Thinking I'm going to limit it to 1) Magic is earned by these methods: Reading spell tomes will earn you a spell- be sure to find what you are looking for before you dig in.... Spell tomes practically explode with knowledge, and some are rather volatile.
Finding magic items with a spell, such as the fabled Horn of Avalon. which turns night to dawn, and wakes all who hear it at their top strength.
Nobody has a special sword, however the Changelings are slightly better in combat. They wont be slaying dragons, but it takes more than a group of bandits to fell them.
Rulers obviously can't be allowed to die unless plot points have been hit... otherwise it just isn't balanced. However... that means everyone else is expendable. (But Never Fear! Fallen Knights shall have a grave yard, and their noble soul shall live on in a new knight. . . . That is to say you can always make a new character. Changelings will choose a new player to become a Changeling upon death, this way those who misuse or abuse Changeling, and die, will be forced to give other people a chance.
You are not the likes of Sir Gawain, Lancelot, or King Arthur. You are no Noble Soul that can't be felled, and stand as titans among men. You are the broken remains of an army that's facing annihilation by an unknown enemy. To put it in perspective, You can fight and beat a small group of bandits or highwaymen easily, but cannot face fae soldiers in combat.
The Traitor has Major Plot armor, and cannot die. they are also a much more powerful knight.
Roles will pretty much be revealed fairly early on, just remember, just because you know the role does not mean your Knight knows who is who. . . ;3

Character Sheets being worked on and moved to the 0th Post of the CS Section. PM sheets to me for approvals. _
For some early Setting notes;
King Arthur died to an unknown illness, poison was not suspected, but is not entirely impossible. He died Three years in the past from current day in RP. It is a wives tale that he died of a broken heart, losing Lancelot and his queen.
Sir Lancelot was executed for his tryst with the queen, this was 4 and a half years in the past, he was also the cause of a major a major battle, and was the death of three of the knights, and the disappearance of another before he was captured by Sir Bors.
Sir Kay was slain in combat with Sir Lancelot, being the first knight to confront him. He advanced with Peace, and Lancelot met with him sword in hand.
Sir Ector Died of old age, and most say the loss of his son made him age even faster in his grief.
Sir Percival was sent on a mission by Lancelot, and has not yet returned. None believe any mission too dangerous for this well known Grail Knight.
Sir Gawain Is the last Knight left in Camelot that held a seat on the Round Table of King Arthur. Currently reigning as Lord Gawain of Camelot, he is your commander and the last line of defense between this foe and what little remains of the once golden city.
Sir Bors was lost to a raid at a northern encampment, none believe him to be dead as messages still come from the north by way of knight and crow. "Hold the Keep. We Shall Come."
Sir Gareth died as the second knight to confront Sir Lancelot, who had fled with Guenevere to his own keep in the south. The siege, while successful, only lasted to drive Lancelot out and Gareth into an early grave.
Sir Galahad was driven to rage by the loss of his comrades to Sir Lancelot, who had fallen so far from grace. He dueled the peerless swordsman, and in his death took the one thing Lancelot could not survive without, His sword arm. He was honored at death for being a greater swordsman than Lancelot, and was heralded as a savior of knights. Some still say they can hear Galahad leading the charge as they repel the vile soldiers attacking the walls of Camelot "In The Name of King Arthur, Push Them Back!"
Sir Bedivere died on his way to Sir Bor's encampment, He was searching for Sir Bors, in search of aid or perhaps rescue, and was ambushed. The body was returned as a twisted abomination along with a message that the abomination spoke before ending itself. "Camelot... Shall... Fall..."
Sir Caradok Died when one of the many encampments and forts, his own Dolorous Tower was sieged by this unknown force. Some say a new knight wears his armor, and now leads the forces attacking Camelot.
Sir Tristan, the wayward companion and rival of Sir Gawain was lost when once more a knight vanished on the verges of Bedegraine Forest. Nobody knows if he yet lives or has fallen, or worse, serves the enemy now, as a twisted being like Sir Bedivere.
King Leodegrance the valorous king was one of the last to fall in one of the latest sieges of Camelot, felled by the strange knight who had stolen Caradok's armor... The body was dragged away and now Leodegrance is presumed also impersonated and has been seen walking among the attackers, his peerless marksmanship with a bow picking off what few loyal archers remain...
There are 4 forces that threaten the men and women of the once golden keep.
1: The Western Rebels
2: The Eastern Rebels
3: Bedegraine Forest
and lastly. . .
4: The Armies Besieging Camelot at night. (A.k.A The Black Banners) _
1: the Western Rebels are what few men and women of the Welsh kingdoms that now reject the Arthurian rule. They raid and storm western keeps and abbeys, calling forth Fae aid in order to push back Camelot's influence in an attempt to reclaim the west. They actively support the besieging armies under the Black Banners, both in manpower and spell power. They represent the followers of the Old faith that the knight Caradok once held in check. Perhaps a Changeling could calm their ire?
2: The Eastern Rebels are more organized and much more terrifying. . . Saxons. Saxons in steel armor, with warhorses and powerful weaponry- including Crossbows. They actively hunt down Arthurian agents and the old faith alike in the name of God. They claim that King Arthur lost faith and the Black Banners are a mark of a plague from God. They fight all forces on Britannia with equal vigor and haste, with very few still faithful to Camelot. Noble sir Percival could change their minds, but so could the grail.
3: The very forest itself climbed Hadrian's wall, and spread with a vicious hunger, threatening to consume all with no discretion. Fae, both light and dark, haunt it's stands, and yet more vile things still spread forth from the brush and branches. It fights primarily against the forces of the black banner, and it is the most successful against them. however in it's wrath and desire to cleanse the isle of filth, it has come to see all man untouched by the Old Ways to be such filth. The disrespectful Christians who waste life, and the faithless, broken Arthurian knights who called the black banners upon themselves in the first place. Only the welsh are safe from the forest's hunger, and even then only the druids stand untouchable, for what the forest will not take, the Fae demand. It takes magic to fight magic, be it the will and act of God, or the strength in the old ways such as Merlin and Morgan. . . and yet still someone would have to reign in the Fae. Who could stand before the weight of such a task?!
4: The Black Banners. The Plague and Scourge of life itself, abominations and monsters in suits of armor, darker than night, soulless and remorseless. They scour out the living without falter. None are left being where they march and even now more and more of Camelot falls under the banners. Out of 6 districts, only one remains of the golden city, and it shall in time fall, unless many rise together to fight this tide of darkness!
Here is a list of all the items, and the past owners, that once belonged to the table. (The items powers will be listed more directly Here, when they are discovered.) 1: The Horn of Avalon (Sir Kay); It was lost in a southern keep, after his death at the hands of Lancelot.
2:The Sword Of Quality (Lancelot); lost under the rubble and ruins of Camelot's keep
3:Red Marble (Caradok); was lost as Caradok was, in the Dolorous tower. (Lady vivian, you naughty thing you~)
4: Faith's Armor (Percival); It's likely still on Percival.
5: Dragon's Bane (Gawain); Good luck getting that sword out of his hands. . . Perhaps if he were to die. . .?
6: Excalibur (Unknown); currently held by one of the surviving knights of the round table, it comes with its sheath, but it's magic is dormant.
7: The Sword of Pendragon (Unknown); Perhaps more information is under another name?
8: The Cursed Blade; (Unknown) You can start with this if you can figure out the name it belongs to, or the name of the knights brother. (and before you ask, no, you can't google it~) Hint: Brothers who waged war, south in the keeps of Dumonia and the lands of King Marc.
WARNING: The Cursed Blade has just as many Cons as it does Pros. . . Sure it could make you one Hell of a knight... But is it worth being damned? Maybe you should seek to cleanse it? I'm sure there is a ruler or traitor who would love a cleansed blade. . . .
Who likes Starting goodies? You do? Goooood.
I've mentioned above and in the 0th post there are names you can use to get starting goodies, but how are you supposed to know them? Well~
Bonus mini-games: (Unscramble these to find a name that will earn you a knight with a spell and strange armor) 1: Dagonet (Claimed) 2: Gaheris (Claimed, But free, Pick someone to receive it and share the info.)
New Scramble for the Cursed Sword and a Better Knight!
Sirs Baald Bna linan
This Scramble is the name of the leader of The Black Banners, and the puppet master behind them
KAri nhutrg Lda nyda eunveereG Bonus: Tell me who the leader and who the puppet master is, and Why, and I'll give you a reward. . .
This is a lot less historically accurate when it comes to weapons and armors available, and is more fantasy.
In this case, Britannia is the entire world, your little island, is actually the size of a continent, and Camelot is the size of a small country. Bedegraine forest? As green and as vast as the oceans are blue and endless.
More importantly Magic is bigger deal. Theres a lot of different magic users, From the most to least powerful; Arch Wizards(Neutral), Sorcerer/sorceress(Old Faith), Bishop(Christian) Wizards, Druids , Priests Apprentices, shamans/hags, Monks.
The difference? Spell preference. Fire, Earth, Light. in a-fore mentioned order.
Now, for Knightly Titles of the past knights, and Why they have them.
Name: Lady Elisabeth June Briar of the House of the Bleeding Rose
Allegiance: ((Only IF she's a Foreign Knight.)) Saxon
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Noble Virtue: The Rose Knight Her oath is to fight until she can fight no more in order to protect and care for those who cannot fight for themselves, until eventually the world becomes peaceful..
Fae Influence: ((Only IF she's a Changeling)) Spring; cheerful and clever, wild through and through. (Orphan turned Gypsy)(Will produce the weakest Changeling physically, but the best affinity for magic that helps the group)
Knight Archetype: Field Surgeon- She fights as any other knight does (Her preferred weapons are the Longbow and Shortsword) and also takes the time after a battle to care for the wounded. (She sometimes will help the wounded during a fight too, depending on the situation.)
Equipment:
Small Iron Dagger - Gifted to her by a fallen Knight, and an old friend of hers.
Long Bow and Arrows - She knows how to make her own arrows if she's in danger of running out. The bow was her father's.
Chain Mail - Basically a short dress of chains that she wears over her normal dress.
Steel Shortsword - A well-balanced and deadly weapon in Elisabeth's hands, but nothing special on its own.
Wooden Buckler - She doesn't use it much considering her preference for the bow over the sword.
Pack horse - Complete with packs for putting stuff in!
Knapsack - Holding a few keepsakes and a change of clothes for her, along with as many rations and such she could bring.
Medical Bag and Supplies - some generic supplies along with the other things listed below.
Sewing Kit - Along with threads and needles to mend clothing, she has special thread and sutures to sew people together too.
Assorted Bandages - She has many, and always keeps some on her person.
Sharpened Scalpels - One with a larger blade for worse or deeper wounds, and a smaller one that she keeps on her person at all times for quick care of a wound and bloodletting poisons from the system.
A Bottle of Alcohol - for cleaning wounds and tools.
A (currently) Empty Flask - Meant to hold Alcohol for drinking... It's been empty for some time.
A Cross Necklace - A silver cross on a simple chain.
A Bible - Leather bound and well worn from years of use.
A Small Journal - She keeps it as a diary, and has recorded much of her most important medical knowledge and discoveries within. She's had it most of her life.
Magic: None, at the moment.
Vows: None, at the moment.
Personality: She is a very kind person, and will often go out of her way to try and make someone’s day. She enjoys seeing people smile. She is slow to anger, and quick to forgive. She is a loyal friend and very cunning in the face of adversity, coming up with plans that would seem childish in their simplicity but prove her instincts are spot-on. She’s very good at reading people, and at estimating how any actions she could take in a situation would most likely turn out. People tend to feel comfortable around her, as she is a proven healer and a genuinely nice person.
Beyond the sweet and kind exterior however, there lies a fierce and dangerous woman. She is very grounded in her Faith and values knowledge to a nearly obsessive degree. She is capable of and has committed atrocities beyond even her own comprehension- she feels no guilt for what she does but asks the Lord's forgiveness anyway, because she knows that at its core what she's done is wrong. She drinks to excess when she can, for this- and many other reasons as well.
Background/Upbringing: Skip. ((Will fill this out later, when it's not 4:30 am and I know for sure her role.))
@Vesuvius00 Looks fairly decent, but as a note, changelings do not start with magic right away, only foreign knights who are welsh with the archetype of Druid start with magic.... and at great disadvantages to themselves as a knight. Otherwise, it looks pretty well done.
As a reminder for everyone, Feel free to spice your CS up with more of a Description and things I've left out, like Height, Weight and the like... ^^' I'm half dead where I'm sitting as I post this. . .
Well Then! I believe, with one who kept his claim to a question in PM . . . We have at least 2 for everything. Including a lot of Traitors. . .
You dirty little lovable scoundrels~ All that remains is a simple question.
How should I decide who gets what role? Perhaps a Challenge, a Game or perhaps you favor a die being cast?
Talk about it with everyone who's opted in for the same role- Traitors, I'll PM you all. I've got an.... Interesting idea.
For the next 4 - 7 days I'll be spending my time Polishing up my posts, and it will take me 2 - 4 after that to get The first IC post up. It has been a very long time since I have done anything even remotely close to this size, so I sincerely Apologize but i simply must insist I take the time to make sure it's all Right.
That being said, Please PM me or reply here with any questions, or suggestions. (I still haven't slept at this point, and I'm suffering from painfully phobia-induced insomnia... So Have mercy as well with the suggestions.)
I'll second Renny's suggestion, and put forward my character sheet. This is the version that assumes my character is the ruler. If that is not the case, I will edit it with whatever need be changed.
Name:
Lady Lanowen Pendragon
Age:
31
Gender:
Female
Noble virtue:
The Martyr - Lanowen will always put herself in the way of danger to protect her people, rather than let them suffer hopelessly.
Knight archetype:
Bannerwoman: Lanowen leads troops on foot with a pole-mounted banner in one hand and a longsword in the other. The banner is quite heavy and works as an improvised weapon, but is still vastly inferior to the sword. More than anything, it is a tool to inspire Lanowen's side and intimidate the enemy.
Equipment:
Splint mail - Lanowen's is designed to look ornate and impressive, though it has no magical effect. Steel longsword - Lanowen's primary weapon, typically held in her right hand. Banner - An impressive design mounted on a tall wooden pole, which is useful as a blunt weapon in last resort. Wooden buckler - While not nearly as impressive, this buckler is a useful survival tool if the banner is lost in the fray. Steel dagger - Likewise, the dagger is fine as a replacement to the longsword, if that is lost in battle. Pack horse - Nothing special, Farken is built for endurance and long-distance travel. Normal clothes - Lanowen's dress style is quite masculine, particularly for the time period, but no less ornate than a person of her station should have. Horn - A horn that gives a loud, resounding note when blown, used to signal for help.
Magic:
None, yet.
Vows:
???
Background:
Lanowen was born a distant relative (fourth cousin) of Authur Pendragon, the late king of Camelot. Originally, it had been planned for her to be married off to a Saxon lord to help relieve tensions. However, by the time she was of a suitable age, the idea had to be abandoned; the invasion had already begun. It would have been too little, too late. Instead, Lanowen remained with her father, Tarubald Pendragon, at his keep at Windscar Ridge until her adulthood. There she assisted with management and even learned to fight, ready for the day when she would become heir to the keep. Eventually, she did marry another noble of Authur's realm, Garren Heptaltac, and had a daughter, Alissa Pendragon (Lanowen and her child kept the name of Pendragon), but her husband fell ill and died soon afterwards. A few called it foul play, as it was convenient that Lanowen solidified her power, then took it all for herself, in just a few years, but those who met her in person soon changed their minds. Particularly famous was the Siege of Windscar Ridge, which took place less than two years ago, in a battle against the Black Banners. The nearby village of Eierfell had already been evacuated, its residents taking refuge at the keep. The defenses held for a mere seven days after the Black Banners arrived, collapsing after Lanowen's father was murdered by a spy hiding within the castle. Lanowen herself took command of the remaining soldiers, and defended the ruins long enough for the villagers to escape through tunnels in the hills, followed closely by the last of her force. On her way out, she started a fire within the keep, destroying the supports of the already weakened building, blocking the way the Black Banners could follow through and crushing and killing many. Lanowen and her soldiers, as well as the now-homeless peasants, retreated to Camelot. There they remained, and Lanowen now serves in defending the city.
Name: Gideon Balmont 'the Broken' as he's been titled recently.
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Noble Virtue: Shield of Camelot (Cast away.)
Gideon was a fierce protector, an odd knight that chose to use a large tower shield, a sign of his vow to protect his commander, his family, and his people. Since the fall though, this virtue appears diminished.
Knight Archtype: Deulist - Gideon was previously known to wield his great tower shield, however he no longer does so. Instead he holds only a longsword, under the premise of the best defense is a good offense. He focuses on parrying blows with great precision, and often strikes his opponents and grabs with a free hand.
Inventory: -Two steel flasks, one if which is usually with the horse. Both are filled with strong whiskey. -A wartorn Longsword, this is a simple blade, standard issue for many knights, though it has seen much conflict. It's maintained, though there are visible chips in it. It once belonged to Gideon's son, and holds a family sigil. - A light courser (Horse) with saddle packs containing dried meats and water. Some simple bandages are kept for emergencies. - Twenty feet of rope. -A balanced hunting knife, in the left boot. -And odd armor set, consisting of dark leather, steel plates cover the upper chest, forearms, and shins only. -A scarf and wool gloves, some areas in camelot arenrather frigid. -A hunting bow, armed with twelve barbed arrows for taking game.
Vows: If he has any vows left, he hasn't said.
Personality: Gideon has a fatherlike outlook on things, often harsh, but never wrong. He's always been a content man, his posting as a knight kept him happy, he did his work, and went home to his kin in before, never have ambitions above protecting his city. This at least, is what many of the younger men that were under him say.
Today, Gideon is a quiet, brooding man. His signature shield has been cast away, leaving concerned men to think he's trying to die, but if he is he won't say. Orders aren't questioned from this older fellow, he just reads, drinks, and doesnwhat he's told until the next fight. Sometimes he can be gruff, and rude, but some of the men say he does it in their best interest, even if he goes too far.
Background: (Lunch break is almost over, this is just a draft. I'll pop this in.)
This is a draft I threw together on my lunch break at work, I will expand in hreater detail when I'm home, and at my computer, we aren't starting for at least a week after all.
