West's hands clung to Bora's shoulders, a wild gleam glittered her eyes. Bora could recognize the feeling, but had since done her best to tune it all out. Every ping, every yell, until both heaving their breaths were loud and clear. "Okay. I'll do my best." She pulled West up, trying to get both of them straight on their feet, glancing back over her shoulder while looping West's arm around her neck and her free one under the woman's armpit. It was a heavy task for such a small girl, but being a decent ranch hand, the girl was no pushover.
Booming voice, carrying with it a tone of authority. She wasn't paying attention, but could hear it clearly. She froze in place, nails digging into West's coat. Miko whined and kneeled behind the pair. Her leash had long since wrapped many times around the girl to the point they were lucky they hadn't started running.
"You thought it might be funny to play wild wild west, and now you'll all deal with the consequences."
The sound of things dropping, skidding across the street, the silence of dead air that followed. Something was very different. She turned to the source of the voice, almost mechanically. At this point, the smoke was drifting away, the only bullets moving were those still rolling down the cement. Bora opened her mouth to speak yet nothing came. This was real magic, wasn't it? A dose high enough to freeze anyone's blood.
