Only real plot movent was that the heli landed and Mikkish character explained something about the island. We aren't much further than that (:

I don't mind if the rp moves a little slower, that gives the characters time to adapt to their new situations and gives us time to write out their characteristics :D

By the way, excuse me if my posts seem rushed. I sometimes forget to double-check them (especially when I'm sick and tired and it's 01:20 (1:20 AM) at night).

Also, do you maybe have some reference pictures of how the island/buildings look like? Should I imagine old-timey buildings, or more like a cityscape similar to New York? And what about technology on the island? Are there computers or anything similar/more advanced? I'm really interested in how different this world is than ours, if at all different except for the l a s e r g u n s (still awesome) and the pests.

Giving the players a chance to flesh out their characters is what I was going for.

Anyways, the buildings are kind of a mix between old and new. So there are new, modern skyscrapers and housing, as well as some older buildings that are kind of colonial in style. There is a town called Alexandria, VA that sort of fits the description. Here are a few pics:









These pics are from Virginia, but if you have ever visited New York City there are a fair share of old buildings there as well.

As for technology, it is a lot like our modern day. Smartphones are not much different. Video games have made small advancements toward motion sense and VR. Most of the important tech advancements are due to Maniacles, however. There are cures for various diseases, most that nobody knows about because Maniacles won't let word out, or too expensive for most people. Weapons and power armor are much the same way. The power armor is less bulky/ more compact than Fallout, honestly. As for the laser weapons, I am basing the idea of them off actual laser cannons. The US Navy has them.

Oh sorry about that. Either I didn't know or I forgot to double-check my post, but it can be fixed. Maybe my character doesn't know that this isn't the main Maniacles HQ for some reason (unless thats general knowledge).

And, in theory, you could also heat up food or other things with a laser rifle right? Even burn down trees or something?
