Name: Ralthavar Gaiah
Age: 27
Race: Orc
Country of Birth: Middle Orclands
Country of Origin: Middle Orclands
Appearance:Bio: Ralthavar was born in the middle orclands, in the servant family of Gaiah. His parents, and their parents before them, served the noble House Gaiah as their guardians and general purpose servants. Despite the positions, it was a fairly good deal; neither Ralthavar or his family particularly minded doing menial tasks like cleaning, working the lands, and crushing people's skulls at the order of the Gaiah family. Ralthavar was the second child, the first son, of his generation of family. It was his right from birth to be the one to guard the first of the Gaiah's children, another boy by the name of Onthanos. Onthanos frequently relied on Ralthavar's strength in his childish adventures, and as they grew older, he came to rely more on his skills in battle. Onthanos was seen as a rather violent boy growing up, his interest in swordplay at first seen and childish until he took it seriously. He made Ralthavar join him, as he knew that the orc was the only one who was willing to give Onthanos a tough fight. Ralthavar humored his retainer's request, though he was always more of a axeman himself, Ralthavar learned the ways of the sword and shield, just to please Onthanos's desire to fight.
By the time Ralthavar was around fifteenth years old, Onthanos desired adventure. His family was all too willing to obliged, decking the noble son with the best armor and weapons they could purchase. Ralthavar came of course, armed with whatever his family could offer. He served as Onthanos's squire and sidekick, always sure to watch his back while letting his master enjoy his glory. It was a good deal for Ralthavar too; he like the danger his retainer got into, so it was never boring. To him, glory was found in battle, not the taverns after it. If his actions could not speak of his deeds, what good would his words to?
Ten years Ralthavar and Onthanos adventured, bringing honor and riches to the House Gaiah. And though Ralthavar always took a backseat in Onthanos's journeys, his time did not go unnoticed; thanks to his loyalty, Ralthavar's family lived much better than before, to the point that they were almost seen as equals to the House Gaiah rather than a mere axillary family. This was further cemented when one of Ralthavar's sisters was proposed to be married by one of the sons of Gaiah. It was a controversial move to be sure, and one that came with it's own consequences.
During the day of the wedding Ralthavar and Onthanos stayed at their family home for the sake of his siblings. But than masked assailants raided the wedding, causing much death and destruction. the bride and groom escaped injured but alive, but the same could not be said of Onthanos. As the two friends fought back-to-back, both were impaled on a spear, with Onthanos using his body to protect his friend. Though both lived, Onthanos could no longer walk, his body paralyzed from the waste down. The family of Gaiah relied all all their resources and magic to heal their eldest son, but something about the spear made Onthanos's Injury never heal. Indeed, even Ralthavar could constantly feel the pain of where the blade had pierced his body, luckily somewhere that wasn't entirely vital. Many began to mourn for the lost son, but Ralthavar was not about to abandon his friend. He spoke to the leaders of House Gaiah about ways he could save Onthanos, and there was only one that they think could heal their son; Well of Wishes.
From that day forth, Ralthavar journeyed alone to find the Well of Wishes, to use it's powers to restore the health of his beloved friend and master. With the blessing of House Gaiah and the faith of his family, Ralthavar left for yet antoher adventure.
Personality: Ralthavar is an honorable sort, though his idea of honor can differ from others. He fancies himself akin to a knight, doing good where good must be done and fighting for what is just and right in the world. Mainly however, he likes a good fight, though having a good reason for it makes it all the more enjoyable. That being said, Ralthavar has no problems using cunning so long as it's immoral. Doesn't really like liars and isn't a good liar himself, so if he has to keep a secret than he simply won't speak about it. Ralthavar himself is a rather outgoing person with no shame in walking up to a person and starting a conversation with them for little to no reason. He's kind and courteous to most people, but when you make him angry, kind and courteous won't be what you remember him by. He is still an orc, and he is willing to make one suffer for their evils, or if they have some other reason for him to hurt them so.
Combat Skills:Though Ralthavar trained in the ways of the sword and shield with Onthanos, he himself is more of an battleaxe person. He can move with lethal speed and power using his two-handed cleaver, and nothing short of a solid stone wall could stop him in full swing. That being said, Ralthavar is still a skilled sword-and-shield fighter as well, with more emphasis on his shield. He can turn his guarding targe into a more deadly weapon that his blade, capable of disarming and damaging his opponents with frightful ease. Ralthavar has also been taught the ways of healing and supportive magics during one adventure to a magical institution with Onthanos, able to grant him such abilities as feather falling, cure critical wounds, purge poison, and temporary ability buffs. He also can create magical armor for himself or others, a ball of light, and mild telekinesis. Lastly, Ralthavar knows how to use a bow, though he mainly uses it for hunting instead of battle.
Adventuring & Survival Skills:Ralthavar is very acrobatic, specifically in heavy armor. He knows how to throw his weight when he needs to be agile, so those who expect him to be a static fighter would soon discover that he could jump a great distance and sprint with great speed even when his armor would make you think he was just a metal statue. Even outside his armor Ralthavar is a hardy and robust individual, to both pain and poison. He has a very strong immune system and digestive track that allows him to eat things that would sicken or kill other people, like poisonous plants, the venom sack of certain creatures, and rocks. Thus should he ever get lost, he can still keep himself fed on the local flora and wildlife no matter how treacherous they are. Lastly, Ralthavar has a good sense of direction and perception, allowing him to pick up on subtle clues like animal trails or possible danger.
Other Skills:Ralthavar is a decent armorer thanks to having to maintain his and Onthanos's gear. While no master blacksmith, he could keep his things in good condition, and should he ever be short on money or need it for some reason, he could create himself a dagger or a short blade with whatever raw materials he can get his hands on. Ralthavar is also a skilled mounted rider, and so long as the creature he's riding on is a land creature, he could handle himself on most mounts. He's also learned the way of the lute should times truly be so desperate that he needs to resort of being a bard for money.
Reason for traveling: To find the Well of Wishes to restore Onthanos's health.
Other: Ralthavar has recently purchased an armored
Brindle Boar to serve as his mount. It's a very sturdy creature and more than able to toss any foe that stands in it's way, and it can even
drift! Ralthavar is also illiterate and occasionally suffers the pain of his spear injury, which is most telling when someone touches it. He keeps it protected under his armor most of the time.
