Tawny was annoyed. This was not supposed to happen. They had plans to be elsewhere and the unpredicted occurrence had forced her and her friends to spend who knows how long at this strange place. Another loud clap of thunder had her groaning audibly. It seemed like she grew a little more aggravated every time that happened, considering her frustration at their current situation. Wet and irritable, she trudged though the sheltered area of the ruins picking up fuel for the fire.
An unexpected sound suddenly caught her attention. Was that meowing she was hearing? Sure enough, she turned to see a black cat approaching, its emerald gaze fixed on her. The sight of the animal put her in a slightly better mood, and she knelt down to stoke its wet fur as it stopped at her feet.
"I guess you didn't plan on being here either."
With all the material in hand, she made her way back to the others, only to find that the little feline had decided to follow her closely. Seeing no harm in having it tag along, she continued on until she caught sight of her friends. The boys were working on the fire, while the other two girls were nowhere to be seen. They were probably out gathering as well.
"Gentlemen," she addressed them, throwing what she picked up into the pile to be shaved. She then proceeded to aid them in their setup, taking a glance at her cat companion nearby. "Yeah, don't ask. It likes me for some reason."
