“They were never scared of the kids who might die, or the empty spaces they would leave behind. They were afraid of us-the ones who lived.”

"No matter who or what you are. They didn't care. To them we are monsters. To them, we are a threat. At least that's what they say to themselves to justify what they've done. Despite your background, we've all ended up on the same road. The path they have forced us down brought us together for a reason. Let's make that a reason we choose."
Two years ago

Sleeping in your bed, on the way to school, resting at home it didn't matter. Eventually, they came as they did for all the other children. At least for all the children still living. Whether it was expected or not the outcome was the same. Men and women clad in all black military garb gathered you along with many other children your age and stuffed you into an old community gym for about a day.

The atmosphere was chilling. No talking, no moving around, nothing. Even the bruised and battered kids weren't given any medical attention. At about midnight it seemed was when everyone was finally moved. Walking outside you saw long lines of buses. Some already had kids within them. You, along with all the other kids, were jammed into a bus that had been slightly modified. There was a gate in the front and two guards with M16's along with the driver carrying a pistol stared each of you down as you entered the bus and forced to sit. The drive was quiet except for a few younger kids silently whimpering. It was like this for a few hours.

When the bus finally slowed to a stop you noticed the sun peeking through a few storm clouds. How long had you been near all these people and didn't know a single name? As you exited the bus a PSF pushed you towards a somewhat medium sized building. It looked like an old administration building. As you walked in the building an overpowering smell of permanent marker and rubbing alcohol filled your nose. You could see kids standing in lines and others walking out of side offices. The ones in lines were forced into rooms just as others left them. Those that had left the rooms had some colored X's on their backs. A majority of the older kids eyed the X's knowing exactly what they meant.

There were five colors in all. Green's and Blue's had no difference other than the X on their back. Yellow's had rubber gloves on their hands. Red's were handcuffed around the back. While Orange's had some sort of muzzle while also being handcuffed. No one smiled. The place around you was full of tension and fear coming from both sides.

Just as your group that you entered the building with was about to start being examined something happened. Suddenly from the back of the room and from a few of the side rooms surges of electricity shot out. The whole building felt like a large magnet in a matter of moments. Then fire burst onto multiple PSF's causing them to writhe in pain. A kid in the back who had his hand on the neck of a PSF screamed, "Everyone RUN NOW!"

Some kids did as he said. A few dropped to the ground in a panic. Some stood in shock. It didn't matter what you did because seconds after the kid yelled to everyone a shot rang out through the room and a noise that seemed to be produced directly inside your brain caused you and all the other children to writhe in pain. Some instantly began vomiting. The experience was horrid.

After a few minutes the noise stopped and despite the echoing effect of the pain in between your ears, you were able to stand when a PSF lifted you to your feet. In front of everyone were five kids, one was shot, and a few PSF's with an important looking man standing near them. "I was planning on waiting to introduce myself to you all after everyone was screened, but it seems I may need to do this now."

He walked back and forth in front of you all. "Listen up! I am Lieutenant Colonel Aiden Anderson. Here, my word is law. As long as you do what I say your time here will be at least slightly pleasant. Now, I want every last one of you to look at these five and listen to what I say. Never try to escape, hurt a PSF, or break any rules set before you. Otherwise, this will happen to you." He signaled to the PSF's standing behind the five. The guards swiftly moved into action beating the kids as a punishment. Once they were done all five were bound and moved out of the building. Anderson looked at the kids before him and said, "I recommend you forget about your lives before now because that is gone. Today begins the rest of your life. Get used to it." The man left after setting a large ultimatum over each of your heads. What shall you do now?

@XandryaLucy McAllister

After a few more moments you are called forward and led to a small room holding only a desk and a table with some device on it. An older woman wearing a lab coat looks to you and says, "Hello. I need your name and if you would so kindly lay on that table there. I need to scan your brain real quick to make sure everything is all right." Whether you do these actions quickly or slowly doesn't affect the woman much. She appears to be half asleep right now. After the machine is done scanning you she asks you a few questions pertaining to how it feels when you touch people. Once she's done with you she gives you a few clothes and marks an Orange X on your back. She then produces something that looks like it's supposed to cover your mouth and handcuffs. "Now, sweetie. I apologize for this but you are going to need to wear these otherwise you may get hurt. Your new powers are not only dangerous to others but they are also dangerous to you." She waits for you to put on the muzzle like item and then proceeds to handcuff you behind your back and then sends you away.

@RawkBryson Darga

Instantly after the Lieutenant Colonel left the room the non-injured PSF's began moving again as if nothing had happened. One grabs a hold of your arm and leads you to a side room shoving you inside. A short hyper man is instantly in your face. Asking you all sorts of rapid-fire questions. He seems to be in a rush and wants to be done with you as quick as possible. He practically forces you onto a table with some sort of machine on it. Once the machine stops he asks for your name and then walks behind you marking a Blue X across your back. Then just like that, you are shoved right back outside the room.

@EverAddison Torrez

You are given a good amount of time after everything that just happened due to being towards the back of the line before being moved into a room. Once you enter a younger woman is sitting behind a desk typing away on a laptop. Without looking at you she asks for your name and instructs you to lay on the examination table. She simply waits silently pecking away at the keyboard until you answer and does as she says. Once the scanner completes its job she asks if you could showcase your ability. Whether you do this or not she still places a Red X on your back, handcuffs you, and instructs you on what you are to do next.

@alexfangtalonAlex Hill

After the scene that happened before you, a PSF grabs you and takes you to a different smaller room. There a plump older man looks at you and request you give him your name and asks for your color. Whether you respond to the color question or not he has you lay on a table and proceeds to scan you. When the machine finishes its job the man shoves rubber gloves at you. Once you grab them he turns you around marking a yellow X on your back. He then says, "Don't remove those and you'll be fine."

@alexfangtalonKatie Pruett

You have time to gather yourself after watching the scene unfurl before you. After a few minutes, a PSF pulls you into a small room. The young woman gets straight to business and requests your name and tells you to lay on a machine to be scanned. After a few seconds, the machine finishes whirring and the woman forcefully marks a Blue X on your back then ushers you out.

All of you, whether those last few moments were smooth or not, are lead out of the building along with other kids by some PSF's. Walking outside going past a few more buildings and some tents something clearly noted by all are the large numbers of PSF's and the tall barbed wire fences surrounding nearly everything.

You walk down a pathway and then are separated into groups of ten. You are then moved into a cabin alongside those nine other kids. The keys to the handcuffs some are wearing are tossed into the cabin and the door is then locked. Tension and fear is high, but does anyone dare speak?

“Yo!, what the f-”

“Shut it kid if you know what's good for ya!” The man was in his face before he could blink, a barrage of questions being thrown at him, one right after the other before the boy even had a chance to answer the previous. The only question that he'd been able to answer was when asked about his name.

“Bryce.”

“What? Speak up runt!” The other spat, bits of drool running down the side of his greasy mouth.

“BRYCE!"

A mixture of fear and anger washed over the kid, confused at why the little man was suddenly pushing him around like a rag doll, holding his arm where a bruise was mostly forming from being manhandled earlier.

“What are you doing?” Bryce asked as the man did a great job of it ignoring him.

“Why are we here, dammit??”

But the kid's questions continuously fell on deaf ears as he was pushed onto a table and shackled by the wrist and chest as a machine loomed overhead, humming as it scanned with a red laser beam across the boy's face and elsewhere.

“Get up jerk!” The man yelled, quickly unlocking the straps and, in the same motion, pulling him by the arm up and off the cold stainless steel table. “Now get the hell back out there!”

The kid stood against the wall, holding his stomach for fear of vomiting and doing his best to calm his own nerves while watching the many other kids who were in the same mess -or worse- as he was. This was insane, the whole process went by so fast, first being pulled away from his friends and family and now this...herded like cattle to some unknown fate and having no control over the variables. Bryce surveyed the room and, while he wanted to break down and cry like many of the other boys and girls bruised and battered, he held it back. His head screamed for mercy, his insides churned like a vat of boiling lava, and muscles were tender from the physical abuse since his capture, but the kid stood strong regardless knowing that a complete breakdown wouldn't help his current situation anyway.

It was uncomfortably quiet in the small cabin. Cots were lined up against either wall, and the lone handcuff key lay on the floor waiting to be picked up. Lucy looked at the others girls there, and it was easy to tell they were just as scared and as shocked as she was.

She slowly stepped forward, careful as to not startle any of the other girls or even herself.

Once she was beside the key, Lucy knelt down on the floor facing away from it. She felt around for the key until she had it in her hand, and then for the next moments, she attempted to remove the handcuffs. She was unsuccessful the first few tries, and one of the girls standing around who looked to be a couple of years older than her stepped forward, offering to help with the handcuffs. Lucy gladly accepted the help and thanked the stranger once her hands were free and the muzzle had been removed as well.

"Thank you," she finally spoke, waving over some of the other girls whose hands were also handcuffed behind their backs. Lucy and other girl went on to free the hands of the rest of the group without so much as saying a word to each other. It seemed that for the moment, they were all scared of making any wrong moves.

Alex Hill

Alex woke up in a groggy state. He could feel the chill of the floor and something around his wrists. He soon realized that he was laying on a gym floor and was handcuffed. Looking around he noticed a few others similar to him had limited movement. The atmosphere was tense. With the same black armor-clad men and women watching over him and many other children, Alex felt anger more than fear. He could fell his hairs standing on the back of his neck, and then they began moving.

How long had he been out for? Walking outside he noticed the sun had already gone down. He remembered being grabbed early in the day. The bus ride wasn't any easier than the gym stay. No one seemed to make a sound save for the few younger ones whimpering silently. Alex didn't know if he should feel sympathy or pity for them, but he knew this wasn't going to get better soon.

When the bus came to a stop and the small rays of sun peaked through Alex got a good look at his surroundings. There was no way he could count all the PSF's around him and the other children. The fences were taller than he could tell from the distance he was, but the barbed wire glistened as if asking for someone to get their skin caught on its sharp points.

Once in the building, the mixture of constant movement, the smell, and his grogginess caused his head to spin a little. When the lightning and fire started shooting around the room Alex quickly dropped to one knee to assess the situation. He couldn't find the source of electricity, but when he saw fire coming out of a boy's hands Alex thought of Sadie and how she had been lying on the ground when he passed out. He had zero time to worry when suddenly a piercing ring shattered through his head.

He fully dropped to the floor trying to cover his ears to no avail. He started to feel a gag reflex when the noise finally stopped. While on the ground he noticed the five perpetrators of the commotion, but once he was pulled to his feet he saw the Lieutenant Colonel. A look of sheer anger appeared on Alex's face at what the man said and had done to the five.

Before he could think of anything else Alex was jerked aside by a PSF and shoved into a room where a man seemed to be waiting. At the man's questions, Alex simply responded, "Alex Hill. What do you mean by color?" The man waved his hand and pointed to a machine saying, "Just lay on that table over there."

Alex did as he was instructed just so that he could be done with this quickly. When the man handed Alex the gloves he eyed them with a look of confusion. He was even more confused when the man turned him around and marked the X on his back. Alex slowly shoved his hands into the gloves and left the room.

As he was being moved again alongside the others Alex looked around trying to get a feel for his surroundings. Alex didn't want to stay here long, but there really wasn't anything he could do about that. He just didn't know it. Once they were escorted to cabins and left unsupervised Alex began looking around the small room trying to find a way out. When he found nothing he turned to the others he was trapped with and he said, "What kind of crap have we found ourselves in?"

Katie Pruett

Katie and her remaining schoolmates had been gathered in the school's auditorium to make it easier on the PSF's to get them at the same time. All the kids looked to their teachers with downtrodden faces and none of the school staff seemed to show any remorse.

In the community gym, they had been taken to Katie sat quietly among her few peers. They were among the first in this transfer group placed within the community gym awaiting transport. Two of the boys had tried to fight back but were shut down quickly and handcuffed. The whole time they were there it was agonizing to just have to sit and wait.

Once they were loaded into the buses Katie had all but lost hope that anyone would be coming to save them. All she could think about was if her mother and sister were safe and about the faces and actions of the school staff she and her peers had so deeply trusted. It wasn't gradual the speed at which she began to hate all adults. She had done NOTHING wrong, but they were treating her and these other kids like this.

A scowl was permanently on her face from the moment she stepped off the bus up until the explosion of chaos in the large room. A boy in front of her began running knocking her to the ground. It wasn't like she wasn't about to be there soon anyway. The sound that assaulted her brain at its very core was excruciatingly painful. Covering her ears didn't seem to help whatsoever.

When the noise finally subsided she slowly began to drag herself to her feet until a PSF pulled her all the way up. The sight before her was revolting to her. How could these people do this? And what did he mean by their old lives were now gone?

Katie takes a few minutes to try and locate her past schoolmates, but can't find any of them before she is rushed over to a side room. Before she can react a woman says something. "Name."

Katie scrunches her face in confusion and says, "Katie Pruett." The woman motions to a device and says, "Lay there so I can scan you." Katie reluctantly does as the woman says in order to avoid punishment. Once the machine finishes the woman marks a Blue X on Katie's back which heavily confuses her then sends her on her way.

On the path to the cabins, Katie primarily eyes the various X's while also occasionally looking at a PSF's gun. Once inside the cabin, Katie watched as one of the handcuffed girls struggled to free herself until someone else decided to help her. She waited until they finished freeing everyone else then said to the group as a whole, "I don't know where we are, but we should keep an eye out for each other."

In a matter of seconds, the overly eager guards set up a perimeter around the large room and began quickly and efficiently rounding up the kids. Bryce tried to keep back out of the rushing crowd, but was instantly caught by the arm and pulled in line by one of the patrols. The kid's initial instinct was to protest and loudly, to pull away and run the hell out of the building, but the big, bad, ugly men holding the guns were in charge, and he really didn't want to die today. Fear and confusion was their tactic it seemed, and the quicker the soldiers shoved the group along like cattle, the less time anyone had to think about what was going on.

“Move it ‘long, scrappers!” One of the men yelled in what seemed to be a thick, southern accent. “Ain't got all day!”

Bryce glanced around even while being pushed and shoved by not only the soldiers that remained in lockstep along the sidelines, but the other kids themselves as most were in tears and a general panicked state. The buildings they'd passed outside didn't seem all that remarkable, rather plain in fact, but nothing he'd ever seen before regardless.
Was this another school? A detention center? Hell, perhaps? Bryce couldn't help but smirk at that last thought, wondering if he'd be stuck as a kid for the rest of his life in the fiery pit. Although, as of yet, he hadn't seen any pits.

“Alright creeps, I need groups of ten, now!” The same southern-accented man demanded, as kids were split into separate groups and shoved in different directions. Bryce was first in the line and had a front row seat to just how badly that same soldier smelled once he was mere inches from the boy's nose.

“Onions.” Bryce mumbled. “Definitely onions.”

“What’d ya say boy?” The tall, sweaty, roughneck put a finger against the other’s forehead. “Say one more word, runt.” He hissed through yellowed teeth and killer breath. “I dare ya.”

The kid stood still the best he could, as the man just pushed against his head and walked away with a smug expression, opening the doorway to one of the cabins just a few yards away. One by one, all ten kids, a few with different color markings on them, and others with handcuffs, we're shoved into the small cabin that smelled like an old basement that hadn't been aired out in decades.

The soldier pulled the key for the handcuffs from his pocket and tossed them in the center of the room. “Have a pleasant stay, pups.” He said with a wry grin while closing and locking the door securely behind him.

Aside from the rapid heartbeats, uncontrollably heavy breathing, ambient noise outside of the room, there was silence amongst all of the kids for what could have been an eternity.

“Anyone for a game of charades?”

Bryce just had to be the smartass...

Addison Torrez

Addison didn’t really register getting onto the bus with all the other kids. She didn’t even really notice the bus ride or them being lined up in some large room. She had been in a daze for most of it, which most would say would be due to shock. She had only learned of her parent’s deaths maybe 5 hours before, or had it been 4? She wasn’t exactly sure anymore, all she really knew was that they were dead and she was all alone in whatever this horrid place was. She walked slowly with the others, not really knowing or paying attention to where it was she was going. All she was doing was following the person in front of her because someone was pushing her from behind. Unlike all the other kids, she didn’t look around or take notice to the kids in the very front who were receiving some form of screening.

It wasn’t until the chaos started that she snapped out of her thoughts. Her eyes went big when the armored men around her burst into the flames and she instantly started looking at herself to see if she was ablaze too. She looked up when she heard someone say run, but before she could really register the words a terrible sound started ringing in her head. It was unlike anything she had ever heard or felt before. The pain was almost unbearable and made her stomach twist into knots. Just when she thought she was going to vomit from the amount of pain coursing through her head, it stopped and a man’s voice rung out over the crowd of children. He was angry and just the sound of his voice instantly annoyed her. She didn’t listen to his rant, her head hurt too much to pay attention to whatever it was he was saying. The most she heard was “do not escape” and then all of a sudden she could see 5 kids starting to get beaten. The man walked away not long after that and then all the lines began to move again once the 5 were dragged away.

Addison had been towards the back of the line and it felt like forever before she was led into a smaller room away from the others. A younger looking lady with a lab coat sat in the back of the room with a chart resting in her boney hands. She didn’t bother to look at Addison, but instead continued to stare at the chart in front of her.

"Hello. I need your name and if you would so kindly lay on that table there. I need to scan your brain real quick to make sure everything is all right."

Addison didn’t respond for a moment. Her eyes glanced over to the table and then back to the woman, who still didn’t even have the common curtesy to look up at her and ask the question. The woman doesn’t say anything more, she just simply waited and clicked her pen a few times.

“Addison Torrez,” she said, reluctantly going to lay on the table in the middle of the room. She hadn’t really wanted to, but there didn’t look like there was many other options for her to take. The scan was finished rather quickly and as Addison sat up the woman asked her to show case her powers in a bland and uncaring voice.

This time Addison didn’t bother to answer at all, causing the two to glare at each other in silence for several moments. Finally, after waiting for a good 5 minutes, the woman stood with a sigh and picked up a marker to place a giant red X on her back. She then grabbed both of Addison’s hands, which caused her to jump and struggle for a moment.

“Doing that won’t help you and is just a waste of both our times.” The woman hissed in her ear as she grabbed a pair of handcuffs off the table and latched them onto her wrists.

“What the hell?” Addison yelled angrily, trying her best to whip around to look at the woman again. However, she was shoved out the door and taken by the arm of one of the guards outside before she could say another word. She struggled briefly in his grasp, but this only made his hand tighten on her arm to almost a painful level. Addison stopped struggling after that and let the strange man lead her away with some of the other kids with Xs on their backs. For the first time since she arrived she really looked around, no longer in her daze, and started to truly realize just how much her life was about to change.

“Don’t be scared. Don’t let them see.”

Two years passed by slowly. Everyone's lives became monotonous. What made it worse was that everyone was separated. Nine was the largest number of people you could even speak to. You were 'allowed' to work alongside those of the same sex within your age group. Eating was done in an old cafeteria building. Only the restriction of age group was applied here. Male and female ate alongside each other, but a major rule enforced across over the whole camp was no speaking except within your cabin.

Everyone found a way around that. Someone, you don't know who, with the help of their cabin mates developed an unspoken language of foot tapping and knocking on hard objects. It took a long time to get everyone to the point of understanding, but the Oranges helped with that. By now everyone within the camp knows exactly what the colors mean. Some began embracing their categorization and trained every moment that had within their cabin. Some abhorred their abilities pretending nothing was different about them. It didn't really matter though because the hope of escaping was gone from a large majority of the children.

Not all had given up hope, but it was hard not to. Other than the catastrophe from when you first arrived, there was one other attempt to escape. It was by one cabin that had an orange who seemed to have lost his mind. He had become good enough and his cabin mates had lost so much hope that he was able to easily take over their minds and attempt to break out of the camp. It ended quickly. The moment the ten were spotted outside of their cabin the white noise was turned on, and they were captured

The Lieutenant Colonel decided that from then on that every other week for 15 minutes the white noise would be turned on. It happened randomly but was excruciating. There was no getting used to that kind of pain. No one dared try anything again. Yet, recently a message has been going around that the time was coming. The time to escape. Everyone was informed to get ready for a signal. The origin of this message was unknown but some were able to link the message to the arrival of eight kids. Eventually, you and all the other kids noticed that the white noise machines hadn't been turned on in a while. It had been about three weeks since the last time the noise had invaded your ears.

@alexfangtalonAlex Hill, @Takida InigoKoren Delton, @RawkBryson Darga

The tension in your cabin has been interesting. Half of you have constantly tried coming up with ideas to escape yet don't work together. The other half seem to be complacent. Last week the Reds and Oranges of your cabins were taken away. The night that happened was filled with silence. No one knew what to say about it. Even if it was a tiny bit you each hoped they were okay and that the rumors of them being killed off weren't true.

@alexfangtalonAlex Hill, @RawkBryson Darga

Tonight felt even lonelier than normal. One of your cabinmates had apparently gotten himself in trouble and was in solitary confinement again. The remaining members of your cabin are the two Yellows, Alex and Andrew. The two Blues Bryson and Raymond. The other Green was Michael. The last any of you saw Koren was at dinner time. As the small number tried to get some rest suddenly the ground began to shake and you hear an explosion.

Some of you quickly duck under your beds in anticipation of the oncoming White Noise. Waiting for about a minute each of you realizes that it's not coming.

@XandryaLucy McAllister, @EverAddison Torrez, @AlwaysHarper Azalea Cartella, & @alexfangtalonKatie Pruett

Your cabin has been fairly peaceful. Everyone has been fairly kind except for one girl who refuses to speak with anyone else. None of you even know her name. During the two years, everyone has supported each other in their own way. When Oranges and Reds started disappearing from their cabins some feared that your cabin could be next anytime soon.

Tonight the oldest girl in your cabin, Jasmine, who has been voted as the de facto leader of your small group got most of the cabin together to play a small game of truth or dare in an attempt to keep everyone's hopes up. The game is just about to begin when an explosion off in the distant grabs each of your attention. Some of you hunker down anxiously awaiting the white noise. You eventually realize it's not coming and one of the girls, Annabelle, begins walking to the door.

@Takida InigoKoren Delton

The room you were in was fairly familiar to you. You've been in this room almost half the time you've been in your cabin and typically it has not been your fault. For some reason, the PSF's chose to, in plain terms, bully you specifically. Maybe it was because they wanted to see how much it would take to break you. Maybe they just liked throwing you into solitary because they 'know' that you pose no threat to them as a Green. What they don't realize is that an unwatched Green can be more dangerous than any Red.

Solitary is barely even watched and you know this. You know that it's just a matter of waiting for the right opportunity to get out of this room and sneak off in the night. Whatever plan you've been formulating, however, has just had a nitrous boost flooded into it as an explosion not very far from your location can be heard. You can hear gunfire almost right next to you and if you peak out the small hole in the wall you'd see kids and adults alike rushing the PSF's.

As each of you looks to the outside you can see PSF's running about and some kids fighting them. Among the kids are even a few adults. From the looks of it, the ones fighting the PSF's are wearing white armbands and are easily overrunning the men and women clad in black. What do you choose to do?

Two years... when one said it out loud such a number was extraordinary in a place like this. Than again Kord was one of the rare few who often had the pleasure of no dealing with the PSF's all that much. This mostly was due to the fact that they enjoyed tossing him in this insufficient cell. There was never any particular reason for it, at least not in an official capacity, these cells were a product of unruly teenagers being punished. Than again Kord probably was being punished but not for stirring up trouble but rather because out of most who had to suffer these ignorant ignoramis, he was the one who never once communicated to them any indication of emotion to reinforce their needs for small pleasures. He was for all intensive purposes an unbreakable individual, even on a gloomy day eliciting a response from him outside of his emotionless persona was impossible. This was something that infuriated them, in this place they delighted in your emotional distress. The more fear you let off, the more tears you cried and the more content they were. Psychological torture is within itself one of the most effective forms of trying to break an individual. While this form of torture came in many varieties ranging from mind games to hurting loved ones in front of someone, the most effective use of this torture came through forced isolation.

It was in theory the most brutal form, one did not need to endure bodily pain to break, the sheer loneliness one suffered was enough to urge anyone to their breaking point. Humans at their core were fundamentally social creatures like any animal in this world, to obtain one from that environment and force them to be alone constantly, the lack of emotional bonds became too much. When it came to a place like this, these bonds were the only real release for some, to feel alone in such a deplorable situation was far worse than going through the motions with others by your side suffering the same. This was his punishment for not engendering them the satisfaction they wanted from him, he had expended a lot time gazing at blank, colorless walls, more so probably than anyone else here. This however to their dismay did nothing to manipulate him, it was by definition, nothing more than a childish attempt to assault a mind they could not even begin to comprehend. In fact they were so ignorant they had not realized even now that he relished these moments where he was completely and utterly alone. It was a chance for him to meditate and go into his own mind, to think more clearly about escaping this place.

They commanded him to this place and impelled him to conform to their rules, but they never once tried to comprehend him very much like they don't try to understand the others. They merely employ you in a kindergartners version of a classification system and than base your threat level off nothing more than a color that determines you as someone who can do extra extraordinary things or can't. It was very apparent from the start that anyone placed in the "Green" portion of this system was considered not even a minimum threat. He had been here more than long enough to see anyone placed in green had no actual powers to speak of, their mental acuity was enhanced but that was it. But if there was but one fundamental truth in this world, it was that one should not underestimate anyone else's intelligence. Possessing abilities to manipulate or create things was a force to be weary of, but superior intelligence was a great force too and the day would come when they saw this for what it was.

Kord opened his eyes slowly when the explosion sounded from outside, the small shock wave was enough to vibrate the floor in which he sat cross-legged on. When the gunfire erupted, the silence of the night was broken with screams of anger and pain. Kord waited silently for the white noise to flood the recesses of his mind, he prepared himself mentally to try and fight it off, but when it did not come the realization came to him that this was not a normal incident of uproar, he hove to his feet and walked to the wall, he looked out into the darkness. From his sparse cell he could see a battle scene unfolding before his eye. Things seemed to slow down, almost to the point where everyone was moving a fraction of normal speed as he analyzed the scene. The other prisoners were fighting the PSF's, however this time there was also a new force in place, he could see the white arm bands worn by those that were helping to fight the PSF.

The thought that occurred to him in that moment was specifically related to the message he had received about escape, the whole camp had been conveying the message along, wait for the signal. It seemed that the signal had indeed come; he could see the mysterious White banded force easily pushing back the PSF with the help of the other prisoners. Kord smiled a very rare smile, one that had never been witness before within the two years he had been here, although his face did not break upon it like many had predicted it would. It seemed the time had finally come to leave this hell hole. Things sped back up quickly before Kord's eye as he turned from the wall and walked almost casually to the door. He knew already that no one was on the other side of it, in fact there would be no one in the entire wing he would gather. This block was rarely frequented unless someone was being thrown in a cell, given the commotion outside no one was going to be in here.

Kord put his hand on the steel door in front of him, it was very much like a door one might find in a prison, however... It did have on the small flaw, and that was each side came with a lock.e The PSF did enjoy entering these cells and locking the doors from time to time, especially for those they wanted to break, that was far and in between, however, but it was that one detail that would get Kord out of this cell. Kord walked back to the narrow bed in the room, it was as always bolted to the floor, however there was something upon this bed the no one had probably caught onto. In their attempts to isolate him over the past two years, they had left him entirely alone, no one checked in on him, no one visited him, this was all part of the torture of solitude. So this granted Kord much time to come up with a way to open the door in front of him, he had found that the guards were far too particular about their keys. In fact if one came up missing the entire camp was put under investigation, they would all suffer the white noise until the key was located, even if no one had actually taken it. So securing a key was perpetually an erroneous idea that would eventually fall back into their hands one way or another.

Life around this camp was a form of routine, guard shifts were changed by a routine, guard patrols were controlled by routine, everything was one big routine. So Kord being placed in the exact same cell every time he was brought in here was also routine. It was because of this that Kord had crafted something, it took him a while considering how hard it accurately was to come by materials, but he had constructed make shift set of tools to pick a lock. He hid them in this room as they would never search it, why would they? After all he was not a threat to them, and as far as they were concerned he was not smart enough to formulate an escape like all the others. Blissful ignorance... Kord reached under the bed within the under rail of the bed he picked up his two home made tools.

The first one was made out paper clips, they were woven and twisted upon one another with a primary hook at the end. Paper clips in essence were useless as any kind of weapon, after all these prisoners had powers so who cared about keeping track of paper clips? The second tool was what he would use for tension, it was in it entirety just a piece of metal stripped from underneath the bed, with a little polishing on the stone bricks on the wall he had smoothed the edges out. They were crude in their making, but one could only work with what they could get their hands on. Kord approached the door again as he placed the paper clip pick into the lock, pushing the tension into the lock he listened quietly for the pins. It was a snap pin lock, nothing was incredibly special about it. With every pin he pushed he put tension on the lock, twisting it, with a couple of moment's gone by, the lock turned entirely and he was released from his lovely stone prison.

Kord looked down both ends of the hall of cell doors, like he figured there were no guards, they were all outside dealing with the intruders which meant... Kord approached the wall farthest from his cell, there was a hook on the wall holding a set of keys for the cells. Kord reached up and yanked them off the hook; he was than going to proceed to unlock the cells but the sudden slamming of feet alerted him to intruders. By time the PSF guard staggered his way into the cell block Kord was back in a cell, the only difference being that he left the door wide open.

"Damn... one of these bastards escaped..."

Kord could hear the guard talking to himself; he must have come to make sure the more troublesome ones were being unreleased. Kord listened quietly, he could hear the cocking of the gun, the subtle scrape of the metal being pulled against metal loading bullets into the chamber of the gun. He listened to the footsteps of the guard, listened to their distance from him, he counted in his head silently. Kord fastened his eyes; the keys from the ring were placed between each slot opening between his fingers.

~3... 2 ... 1 ...~

The guard fully emerged into the cell levelling the gun in, he looked around to find that Kords cell was completely empty. Kord opened his eye's as he exited the empty cell right next to his, he came around the corner to the guards back, with one swift kick, his foot meant the guards crotch. There was a bone shattering pain as the guard tried to scream but nothing came out as the gun clattered to the ground. Kord slammed the metal keys into the guards shoulder, the man finally screamed as Kord withdrew them, the guard instinctively tried to drive his opposite arm back to strike Kord. Time seemed to slow down again as Kord noticed the angle of the arm heading towards him. The change in direction, he ducked the blow and went forward slamming the keys into the mans other shoulder. The man fell to his knees, his arms falling limply beside him, Kord walked around him, the same emotionless expression was on his face.

"Hurts don't it? Did you know that if you attack an opponent in precise spots in the body that the portion of body connected is unable to respond anymore? Usually this is done with hands alone, its meant to temporarily disable your opponent, however with... Assume a set of keys for example... Tearing into that same central point, that body part will be forever useless or at the very least crippled for life."

The guard feebly tried willing his arms to pickup his weapon but Kord pluckt it up first. He tossing it aside to the bed, he raised his fist up with the keys between his fingers. Wrapping his hand around the back of the guards head he held it steady. He went forward with a straight punch for the man's face, but he just stopped inches from the man's skin. The guard seeing his impending death had fastened his eye's awaiting the inevitable. When he slowly opened his eyes, sweat was pouring down his brow, the keys were inches from his eyes.

"I am not like you... I do not delight in causing death even if for those who have tried to torture me for two years. This is not a form of cowardice but a form of mercy that men like you will never understand.

Kord lowered the keys as he reached back to the bed and collected the gun. Before the man could respond he smashed the weapon into his face knocking him cold. Kord spit on the floor next to the guard as he exited the cell and slammed the door behind him, he re-locked the door. The confrontation over, Kord made his way down the hall with the bloodied keys. One by one he popped open the cells empty or not and released the few who were still trapped within for whatever reason. The stragglers quickly made their way to the battle outside leaving Kord by himself. He looked down at the gun in his hands, feeling the cold metal against his hands, recognizing the power he held in that moment, it was almost exhilarating. He looked up towards one of the exits, he wondered if he should join the battle or not. He could easily use the distraction outside to finally leave this place for good.

It was arduous to say he had not dreamed of this moment for the long two years he had been here. He wanted to make them all pay for what they did to him. But if there was a chance, even slim at best that the PSF could win this fight and he was nevertheless here than he would be trapped again. That was a risk he was not willing to gamble on, no he would make his way out of here. He would not spend another moment here, no matter how much guilt it might prevail on him for not helping the others. Besides most of them had powers he did not, they could take this fight to them better than he probably ever could. He did not fancy getting caught in the cross fire. Kord made his way to the door at the farthest end, looking at the gun again he contemplated letting it go, he had wielded a pistol only once in his life. It was an and M9 Beretta, fifteen shot clip, semi-auto. He really only possessed the practical knowledge he had learned from books on this weapon. He decided in the end that he would keep it just in case, it was unlogical to rid yourself of a weapon that might be necessary for survival. Kord clicked the safety of the weapon and slipped it into his waistband. Taking one deep long deep breath and closing his eyes, he opened them last second. Putting the keys snugly between his fingers once more, he made his way out the door and into the ensuing battle beyond to his freedom.

She did not know how long she had been here, or anything of the sort. Her mind was not an accurate calendar, she lost count of the days long ago. She had heard that it has been two years from some of the other girls, but she didn't believe it was true. It felt like much longer in her opinion. The days passed by, each one being longer than the next. The torture and the pain killed, and the same activities bored the hell out of her. She continued on, trying to cause as little trouble as she could. She had faced some of the consequences, and it was something that she could not stand. Even before she entered the gates that surrounded the gates she knew it was nothing good she was getting into to. The long bus ride, holding an unbearable silence, that throughout her days at the camp followed her. Walking in the gates, she saw others, around her age working. They wore shirts with various colored X's. The shirts were labels. She didn't understand it then, but soon after she found out, when she was given her own label. Orange
The fact that she heard different rumors on how the red and oranges have been disappearing terrified her. It hasn't happened to her, and she also hoped that it didn't. Where the reds and oranges went was unknown. This fact didn't make it any less nerve-racking, especially here. People have disappeared a few times, and she remembered their faces. She never once saw them return to the camp. Her best guess would be that they were gone. She did not want to be gone. Even though she hated the camp, she would trade anything in the world to not die with in the walls.
Her mind focused on the topic, not letting it slip in her mind. Maybe if she was careful, maybe if she was good they would forget that she was there. The thought kept her somewhat warm, but it didn't do much. In realism she would need to escape to avoid her fate, but escaping was deemed impossible. She thought of ways, but nothing would work.
"Lets play truth or dare." She heard one of the girls say.
Harper looked up turning her head to the direction of the girl and shrugged. What did she have to lose? Truth or Dare wasn't her favorite game in the world. Most of the truths bored her, but the dares she enjoyed. She would like the truths more, if she didn't have the power that she did, and she could always tell if the others were lying. She had managed to figure out how to master her power, and had used it quite a few times. The PSF did not tend to catch it most times. She admitted it was risky, and she framed from doing it around them, but at times she just couldn't help it. Every time she used it she wanted to use it more, and she had completely disregarded peoples privacy to do so. She got headaches here and there from it, and when her friends realized she did it they were not impressed. "Sure. I'm in."
She waited as the game was making its way into progress. They got everyone who wanted to play gathered around the circle. "Who want's to go first?"
The question was never answered.
A loud noise interrupted there game. Harper, jumped at the sound eyeing the others around her. What was that? An escape attempt maybe? She quickly stood onto her feet, running to her bed. If it was an escape she knew what would follow. She laid down, covering her ears with her hands. She closed her eyes.
She waited moments afterwards, for it to begin, but there was nothing. Not a single peep. She opened her eyes, looking around at the others. What in the world? She realized that the others had a similar expression. She rolled her self up, getting onto her feet. She saw Annabelle going to open the door. She got up too her feet, standing behind Annabelle.
A loud sound and no white noise. Were they going to be saved? The thought rushed into her head, a rush of glee fleeing through her, though she quickly calmed it down. Chances were low.

That day had started out like any other torturous day. Stuck in the same routine with the same saddened faces. Not that Lucy minded, but their expressions were a crude reminder of her position every time she attempted to daydream back to the good old days when the most she had to worry about was finding a playdate for her free time on the weekends. But her life wasn't as simple anymore, not when she was a couple of weeks away from becoming a teenager and thus had a much better understanding of everything that had happened to all of them up to that point.

Later in the evening, the oldest girl within their cabin, Jasmine, asked for anyone who was interested in playing a game of truth or dare to join her. The thought alone watered Lucy's eyes, nearly making her cry. Despite what they go through everyday, Jasmine manages to push aside her feelings to make the rest of the girls feel just a tad better. Her selfless act left Lucy momentarily at a loss for words before she let them know she was joining them.

Pushing herself up off of the creaking cot, Lucy walked over to the center of the cabin where she sat cross-legged waiting for the remainder of the girls who wanted to play. She was looking forward to the game when a loud explosion drew her back to reality. Her first thought was that they were all about to horribly die in an airstrike attack. The idea wasn't so farfetched given what they had endured up to that point, and the rest of humanity probably didn't want them anymore anyway.

But the airstrike didn't happen, nor did the crippling White Noise that one would usually expect on a regular basis. Silence followed instead, coupled with confused and scared faces from the girls in that cabin.

"What in the hell is going on?" Lucy got to her feet with a sense of urgency, rapidly walking over to the door just beside Annabelle. She walked past Harper and before sense common got a chance to direct her next move, Lucy opened the door just the slightest to take a peek outside.

Not much appeared to be out of place except for the quick-paced footsteps outside and the loud, verbal commands. But that was something that they were more than used to at that point.

"I don't see anything," Lucy said in a low voice, opening the door all the way before she stepped out into the cool night. When the other reds and oranges had been killed, it hadn't been this dramatic. On top of that, she was sure as hell they were next, but the explosion wasn't anywhere near their cabin, so that only added to the confusion.

Lucy then slowly began to walk, almost like a zombie who was drawn to the chaos.

The kid couldn’t remember the last time he’d spent an entire two years anywhere on the planet, and he sure as hell didn’t expect it to be a concentration camp for wayward juvenile freaks in the middle of nowheresville. He still couldn’t help but recall those first few weeks at the camp, it’s hectic ups and downs, and the excruciately long days of grunt work that were delegated by the soldiers and administrative adults who seemed to have nothing better to do than make every single teenager there more angsty and pissy than they already had been. Clearly none of them had kids or they’d at least somewhat sympathize with what each of their young minds were going through on a daily basis.

Ah, and then there was the White Noise…

It was enough to drive anyone batshit crazy, and yet it happened more often than not like clockwork, screwing with each of the kid’s minds in a way that was the epitome of mental torture. On a few occasions, when he wasn’t curled up in a fetal position on the floor with his hands cupped over his ears, Bryson found himself clawing at the painted brick walls to the point that a few of his fingertips bled from the incessant friction, and headaches came more frequently, some of which had him cringing in bed for hours.

But, amongst all the chaos, Bryson made the best of it because really, what was the alternative?

Being the outgoing lad that he was -somewhere between a Type A and B personality- Bryson could find a friend in just about anyone he’d had a chance to actually converse with when not being oppressed by the man. It seemed social activities were on the downlow, and generally frowned upon by the upper echelon jerks who ran the place, accept for those within the cabin you were assigned. The kid’s negative outlook toward adults only increased exponentially the longer he was at the camp, realizing that those with power were more to blame than those without, and yet there wasn’t anything he could do about it. He wasn’t violent and never had been even in his earlier childhood, but the more the establishment pushed, the more he wanted to push back. Be a leader for the people, break out with wicked Braveheart quotes while swinging a very large two-handed sword. You know, the normal stuff that fifteen year old kids dream of when they’re held against their will in a prison camp from hell.

His cabin mates, he supposed, were a decent enough group to get along with, which was one of the only reasons Bryson himself didn't go off the deep end. They all had a knack for keeping each other accountable as best they could, and helped in the necessary steps it took to train and soldier through each of their newfound powers, being careful not to stray past the threshold that could inevitably cause irreparable damage to their surroundings or themselves. Everything went relatively well, that was until Koren got pinched by the patrols and was sent into solitary confinement for what felt like the rest of his life. After that, it seemed as though the soldiers had it out for the crew in our cabin, making their life’s work to make them as miserable as possible. And to think, it could get worse?

First it was the slimming down of ration allowance during mealtimes, followed by random “wake up" calls in the dead of night by way of loud banging along the metal panels outside the cabin. After that, they started shutting off the hot water, forcing each of the boys to take cold showers, and eventually turning the water off altogether, which was a crime in and of itself since teenage boys can stink up a small space like something fierce.

Needless to say, it made any further attempts to get along with the other kids a challenge as sleep deprivation and even illnesses came and went with the phases of the moon. It didn't take long either, as one by one, each of the kids grew apart, isolating themselves enough at all four corners of their abode, as the welling up of anger, fear, and general unhappiness washed away better judgement.

But a reprieve from the monotony had come, and it rode on the tails of a possible revolution...or a terrorist attack. Either way, Bryce welcomed the break, as whatever caused the earthquake and explosion outside sent enough chaos and confusion flying across the encampment that those soldiers who previously walked their scheduled patrol routes were then focused on whatever was transpiring.

Brilliant.

“Can anyone see anything?” Bryce spoke up while peaking around one of the steel support columns near his bunk. “We under attack?”

He quickly made it over toward the door and slowly turned the handle, cracking the door just enough to stick his face between the small space.

Two years. Two years was a horrible amount of time to let anger fester. Every night in his dreams. Every moment that the White Noise rang inside his head. Every time he felt like he was going to give up, Alex remembered when the PSF's came and he got angrier.

However, Alex would never let his anger show. Outside of his cabin, Alex did his best to be the model prisoner. He always obeyed. Even when they told him to shock one of the other kids. Inside of the cabin though, he spent the majority of time training, honing his skills. The day that he heard the message he initially doubted it. Then when he realized that it had been a while since the White Noise had gone off the hopeful message started to feel truthful. He put his training on high gear trying to prepare for the supposed signal of escape.

The night that the 'signal' came he was sitting in his usual spot. In the shower so that if his electricity flares out like crazy no one can get hurt. That's when it happened. A loud crashing sound and the ground beneath him began shaking. He hunkered down in his spot waiting for the White Noise. Seconds turned into minutes until he finally realized that it wasn't coming. Maybe it was an accident that the machines weren't turned on. Or maybe the message of coming salvation was true. Either way, he jumped to his feet and entered the main section of the cabin. He could see everyone crowding around the door and Bryson sticking his face outside. "What do you see Bryson? What's happening?

Katie Pruett

These past two years had been crap. Other than the time that was spent in the cabin life was horrible, and it got worse every day. At first, Katie had been reluctant to befriend the other girls in her cabin but she eventually warmed up to them. Spending time with and getting to know the other girls around. Every time things started getting hard for the others Katie did her best to keep them from breaking down. Each time the White Noise blasted in their ears, Katie started to lose it. If it hadn't been for her friends in the cabin she probably would have done something stupid to get herself and potentially others killed.

When the message began going around Katie was highly suspicious. How could they escape? She didn't believe it at all until one day during lunch she saw someone she had never thought she'd see again. Her twin sister, Maizey, sitting on the other side of the room. She almost shot up out of her seat until Jasmine grabbed her forcing her to sit. Katie didn't talk to the others about it, but tonight she was thinking of finally telling them. That was until the ground shook.

Katie got down and prepared herself for the dreaded noise. Yet, it never came. When Annabelle started walking to the door Katie rushed up behind her. Just like the others, she had no clue what was going on. Her first thought was maybe someone luckily destroyed the device that triggered the White Noise machines. Then Lucy started walking outside towards the chaotic battlefield. Katie quickly weaved around the others to get outside and stop Lucy, "Hey, what are you doing?"

Kord breathed in the fresh air almost as if deprived, the foul often stale smelling cell in which he was kept was for many hours out of many weeks through many months into the two years of his imprisonment, his home. Living in Solitary was either one of two things, either someone down the hall was stinking up their cell pissing against the walls to show the man whose boss, or shitting in the corner with the same thought in mind. So one had to acclimate to terrible smells in that place, but honestly given the fear that surrounded that unit in particular, it was for the most part just a bunch of secluded rooms with no real threat aside from being lonely. An honestly as much as Kord was thrown in here on any given week, people thought he was some bad ass anarchist taking it to the PSF when no one was looking. They never really did say why he was being thrown in there to anyone, they just usually picked him up, made some commotion to scare the weaker kids into submission and than tossed him into solitary. All in all a lot of the reasons for the others was left to imagination, so if they wanted to think he was some anarchist causing hell for the PSF he wasn't going to burst their bubble, even if he did talk more than maybe a few words any given day. Kord was not a social being by any standards, everyone knew that and as the old saying goes, the quiet ones are usually the most dangerous.

In this moment however waxing poetic with manipulation tactics was a real moot point and a waste of the time he had to get out of this place. Judging from the strength of the explosion in his cell and the general area in which the fighting was heaviest, his escape was nearby waiting for him. Given that explosion was loud enough to shake his cell, he was wagering that there was a nice big hole somewhere for an opportunist to take an advantage of. The only issue he could foresee at this point was the fighting was concentrated there, he did not want to become a casualty by walking between a fire starter and a trigger happy PSF. He did not wish to become a casualty on his way to freedom, he could fight his way through of course, but there were far too many unknown variables at this point. Hell... who was to say that these white arm banded men were actually there to help them? What if they were just trying to steal them all and put them in another camp for their own nefarious means? Thinking about it.. why would there be people trying to rescue them? Its not like any of them were important enough to die for, or at least he did not consider himself worth that much. So it begged some questions... are they doing this for their sake and if so than why are they doing it? Are they looking for someone specific and everyone else is free to take part in the chaos or are they here for everyone?

~tick tock tick tock~

The words flashed through Kords head, the same words that always flashed through his mind when he was thinking far too quickly and didn't have much time. He had to concentrate on what was important, not the little insignificant details. The white banded group was causing chaos, there is a window to escape, its behind a lot of in fighting and he needs a way past it without risking his life. Only one thought occurred to him, what he needed was more bodies to fight the PSF and give him the opening he needed. He noticed that the bulk of the camp was not present at the fighting, he saw a few of them but not many, the majority would probably still be in their cabins. They probably had no idea what was happening, if he strolled over there and told them what was going on and encouraged them to fight that could be his chance to get out. One name did pop to mind more than the rest, Alex Hill, if there was but one who was perfect it would be him. He was quiet but he was also one who could probably get the rest of them to fight at the same time, Kord did not know him all that well, they did not talk much very much like it was for a lot of people he knew, however Alex stood somewhat above the rest.

He was almost like a leader, he had the qualities to be one, and he had made a lot of friends here, at least Kord hoped that he did. Others tended to gravitate more towards him than anyone else or at least that's how he saw it. His ability to control electricity was just an added bonus, Kord was positive he could use that in his escape. Broken from his thoughts by yells over to his side Kord looked over into the battle zone, he could see the flashes of muzzles and the echoes of gunshots. Somewhere deep down the thought of himself using others to his own end made him feel bad... but reality was simple, if wants to survive in this world then they need to be prepared to do what is necessary. There was no use in processing the emotional distraught it might bring, he needed to get out of here and he needed a distraction, simple logic. Kord turned away from the battle zone and began to run back towards the cabins, he still had to be careful here, the PSF could be anywhere at this point.

The time it took to get across the compound had been fairly boorish as Kord entered the vicinity of the cabins, the PSF were probably far to distracted with the mysterious banded group to care about much else. That worked for him, long as he didn't have to deal with them than that was fine with him. When his cabin came into sight Kord made a beeline for it hoping that Alex was still in it, he needed him to get out of here. Perhaps it was due to his overconfidence in his threat assessment or even the fact that perhaps he was thinking a bit too much about freedom, but when the PSF guard cocked his gun not mere feet on him from the entrance of his cabin, Kord stopped dead in his tracks. He slowly cocked his head to the left of himself to see an assault rifle leveled on him. Kord let his eye's flow down his assailant as things seemed to slow down again, the PSF's words to him about freezing and not moving were almost ten times slower than normal. Watching the scene play out the PSF moved in slow motion towards him, the gun was pointed directly at his chest.

Sweat was beading directly down his temple as the keys slowly slipped back between his fingers, it took him a moment but Kord realized the PSF was onto the weapon in his hand, he ordered him to drop them, with no other recourse Kord did as he was commanded letting the metal keys flop silently to the ground with a small clink of metal. Kord raised his hands, the whole world was still in slow motion as the guard moved in, when he was within grabbing distance, the guard turned the rifle around, presumably to smash the butt of it into Kords face to knock him cold. Kord watched as the butt of the rifle slowly came towards his face, at the very last second Kord let himself go down to the ground to avoid the blow and grabbed the keys he had just dropped. He tried to position them in his fingers but he was not quick enough to get a firm grasp on them, he struck out with them and the ones he had managed to get between his fingers slammed into the guards lower stomach. There was yelp of surprise and pain as the guard grunted angrily, the hit was far from lethal, things seemed to speed back up right as the guard drove his foot into the side of Kords head knocking him for a loop as he slammed to the ground.

Everything seemed to spin for a moment before Kord could get his eye's to work properly again, he could feel warm fluid running down the side of his head, there was a sharp pain in his frontal lobe. The guard whom had hit him was making his way forward, for what means Kord did not know and he had no intention of figuring it out, Kord reached into his belt and pulled the Beretta from his belt and pointed it at the guard. The PSF was too close however and quickly kicked the gun out of his hand towards the cabin nearby. The man quickly climbed on top of Kord, his weight pinned him down as he tried to struggle. The PSF drove his fist across Kord's face once, than twice and then a third time, the hits were hard and direct as blood slashed the ground from his mouth.

"I am going to enjoy finally making you scream."

Kord heard the words as another hard fist cracked him across the jaw.

"Let’s play truth or dare."

Addison’s eyes couldn’t have rolled to the back of her head any more than they had when she heard Jasmine spoke up. Most girls her age would have loved to get their minds off the current situation and play a game, but she wasn’t one for games anymore. She barely even felt like a kid now, not after sitting in this horrible place for the last two years of her life. Addison had started out fairly angry when she first got here, who wouldn’t after killing their parents, but she only grew worse as time went on. She was known as the mean one in the cabin, the one no one really asked anything out of fear of what would come out of her mouth. Of course, she cared about the girls in her cabin more than she ever really let on. If anyone was getting picked on by a PSF, she would usually do something to draw the attention off of them and onto her. No one really took notice to that fact and often just thought she did it to act out, and Addison was fine with letting them think that. She liked being known as the screwed up one, it stopped people from asking her questions she didn’t really want to answer.

“Fucking stupid,” She muttered to herself, resulting in a look from Jasmine, who had heard her despite how quietly she had said the words. Addison lifted a brow in challenge when the other girl looked at her, but didn’t get a reaction from her much to her dismay. She watched from her bunk as the others girls started to gather in a circle in the middle of the room to play. She thought the game silly, though still found herself facing their circle, with her knees drawn up to her chest and her chin resting on them. They were just about to start when suddenly a loud boom sounded in the distance. Everyone’s eye went big and all the girls prepared for the horrid white noise sound to start up. Unlike all the other girls, Addison tilted her head back, closed her eyes, and just waited for the pain to start. She was used to it now and even liked how painful it felt. Oddly enough the pain made her feel still alive, instead of just a play thing someone took out of a box every now and then to toy with.

Much to everyone’s surprise though, the sound never came like they had expected. All the girl’s heads slowly popped up from the spots they had buried them in to look around. Addison’s eyes opened just as a few of the girls decided to walk up towards the door of the cabin and open it to look outside. She was surprised they’d had the guts to open the door. She’d half expected them to all hide in their beds and wait for whatever it was to be over. Lucy, one of the youngest in the cabin was even ballsier than the rest of them, she had fully walked out the door and was slowly walking towards whatever chaos awaited them outside. Without thinking about it, Addison popped out of her bed and head towards where Lucy was walking. She rushed past Harper and Annabelle, her skin heating up in excitement as she did. You could already see the necklace around her neck starting to turn a bright red color.

“Lu-“ she started to say as she went after the younger girl, but the name became caught in her throat when she finally started to look around at what was truly happening. PSF’s were running around everywhere being attacked by both adults and kids alike. Her eyes widened at the thought and her heart speed up in joy at seeing all the fighting. The thought of going back into the cabin and waiting for it all to end passed through her mind briefly, but then she remembered all the rumors going around about oranges and reds being disappearing lately. She and Harper were some of the only reds and oranges left in the cabins. She briefly remembered seeing one or two more reds and oranges walking around during lunch time, but most of the others had been taken already. She looked back at her cabin for a moment, seeing all the faces of her cabin mates, and then back to the fighting going on in the distance.

“They’re gonna take me soon anyway,” she said mostly to herself but out loud as well. “Why not make it worth it?” Small blue flames flickered between her fingers as she stood and only grew in size as the seconds ticked by. Her hands were fully engulfed by the time she looked back at the others one last time. “I don’t know about you all, but I’m going to have fun before they pick me apart. See ya around….Maybe.” With that she took off running towards the fight, her hands blazing and ready to burn everything down around her.

"Hey, what are you doing?"

Lucy stopped for a moment between the boys and the girls' cabins, hearing Katie's words from somewhere behind her, but her mind actively choosing to ignore it. Instead, she stared straight ahead, beyond the hell that was solitary and over onto the hills way off in the background.

•❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅•

"Luce, come on get over here!" Charlie waved over from the edge of the lake. He was wearing swimming trunks just like Damien, who kept jumping off the small, wooden dock. "Hey, what are you doing?"

Lucy looked up at her dad, who approached her with a smile on his face.

"I thought you wanted to get in the water?" he went on.

"The hills are pretty," Lucy said, returning his smile. She stared for a little while longer before reaching up for his hand so they could walk to the edge of the lake together.

Charlie chuckled, giving her hand a little squeeze. "You know, I love how you find beauty in everything...it means you have a kind heart."

Lucy was young, just 8 years old, and even though she didn't quite understand the meaning behind her father's words, it still made her appreciate them.

•❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅•

A stray bullet barely missed her as Lucy finally snapped out of it. She turned around to face Katie, urging her to get back inside the cabin. "We have to stay safe!" Her adrenaline skyrocketed as Lucy grabbed Katie's wrist and pulled her towards the cabin. She ran for the door, closing it behind her once they were both safe inside. "It's chaos out there, what do we do?"

Lucy didn't only address Katie, but the rest of the girls in the cabin as well.

“One thing's for sure...” The kid responded with a curious stare across the field at a few of the guards laying on the ground, some moving and others still. “Doesn't look like those PSF jerks are having a good night.” He snickered, trying to make light out of an otherwise cluster of chaos.

At the get-go, Bryson knew he'd be the one to take point, not because he felt obligated to amongst his peers, but rather a genuine knee-jerk reaction to help the others, whether or not it would get him killed in the end. For the last two years it had gone from bad to worse, back to bad, and then the cycle continued as the administration did their best to make everyone else feel like aliens, freaks, rejects, or whatever not-so-original name they could conjure up for the kids. And contrary to what a few thought at first, the camp was anything but your usual holiday destination.

“Otherwise, I don't see an-" Bryson paused as he craned his neck around the door, catching a scuffle near the other end of the cabin, but just out of range of the noise. Squinting his eyes, he could barely make out the one being beaten, until it occurred to him who it was.

“Shit, it's Kord!” The kid exclaimed as he turned to the others behind him. “Guard just cracked him across the face, and he's down!” For a brief moment, Bryson was ready to leap out the door and gun it to the aid of his cabin mate, but reason overtook suicide as he remember the assault rifle the PSF officer had on him. “The dude is packing serious hardware, so...might have to sneak around, or-". And just like that, the kid had an idea as his eyes caught a small pile of stones just a few feet from the doorway.

“Alright, this seems crazy, but you should be able to pull it off. They're just projectiles, right? Practiced this all the time...” Bryson mumbled to himself before speaking at a normal level. “Uh, I'm going to distract the guard and hopefully do a lot of damage to him in the process.” He said with a sheepish grin. “Who's with me?”

But before the others had a chance to respond, Bryson took a few steps out the door and grabbed the stones, which were jagged and sharp, just as he hoped they'd be. He figured the distance between the cabin door and where the guard was standing over Kord was at least twenty-five feet away, still within a decent range for the kid to hit his target with a moderate degree of force. He raised his hand which held the golf-ball sized, jagged stones, and focused his thoughts as best he could on them as well as the target spot: the PSF dude's bulbous head.

Three of the five stones slowly lifted from the palm of his hand, rotating on their axis as they hovered a few inches while awaiting the next mental command, which came almost instantly. The projectiles launched with inhuman speed toward their final destination, raining hell against the side of the guard’s head in rapid succession, eliciting a loud growl and knocking the man off balance and to the ground. Bryson couldn't tell at that moment whether the guard was alive or not, but he was fairly sure a blow like that at least dazed him enough for the kid to have the upper hand momentarily.

Not wanting to waste the opportunity, Bryson ran over to Kord in hopes that he was still conscious. “Dude, you alright? We gotta get out of here!” The kid's words ran together as the adrenaline spike he’d sustained earlier from the telekinetic energy began to subside and what could only be described as a massive hangover washed over his mind, causing his hands to reach up to his head while he gritted his teeth in agony.

“Not again…”

“The Darkest Minds tend to hide behind the most unlikely faces.”

WORLD UPDATE

@Rawk@Takida Inigo@alexfangtalon

The PSF pelted with rocks is groaning but because of his training, he instinctively reaches for his weapon. There aren't many PSF's in the same general area as you but the ones you can see other than the one bombarded with rocks are all running towards the Central Control building.

@Ever

Running towards the fighting you realize that none of the PSF's notice you coming up behind them. You realize that they are firing at the adults with the white armbands. The PSF's have the armbands heavily outnumbered but it's obvious that the armbands have better cover and equipment. It's a toss-up right now as to who will get the upper hand. Far off to your right you hear a scream. Looking over you can see a kid with an armband leading eight small girls away from the fighting but they have been cornered by three PSF's. Who do you choose to assist?

@alexfangtalon@Xandrya@Always

Inside your cabin, the fighting seems to be muffled. Could it be you feel comfort in this room or is it just who you are with. Jasmine was the first to speak up in response to Lucy's query. "If this really is a rescue like that message implied I say we work together to get out of here taking as many people with us as possible." The other girls started nodding, but then the one who refused to communicate finally speaks up.

"I'm not going to be a coward like y'all. I'm taking the fight right to those monsters." She barged passed the small group and left the cabin. Turning to look at all of you one last time she said, "Thanks for being good friends." and then ran off to join the fight.

@sly13

The moment the signal came your cabin had not flinched. Half of you ran to the Central Control Building while the other half started helping get kids to the exit. However, despite knowing what was coming and the extra training from Jeremey who you knew was a part of this whole thing the chaos still was a little unnerving. But if you realize it or not that is part of what proves you are still human and not some monster the PSF's believe you are. Currently, you are leading a group of eight younger girls towards the exit but you've been caught off guard by three PSF's. only one of them seems to have his weapon though. So, maybe the nine of you can somehow get the upper hand?

Alex stood back waiting for Bryson to finish the assessment of the area. When he heard Kord was out there getting beat on Alex was getting ready for a fight. He nodded when Bryson asked if anyone else was gonna help. Sneaking outside and making sure the PSF couldn't see him he tried his best to get a vantage point over the large man. Alex slowly got closer and closer waiting for Bryson to attack. When he did everyone else bolted towards Kord but Alex ran for the PSF.

He could see the man reaching for his gun and Alex didn't know if he'd make it in time. That's when he noticed a Beretta part way between him and the PSF. He realized if he timed it just right he could get the pistol before the PSF could use his gun. Diving for the pistol Alex quickly lifted the gun pointing at the PSF and firing. Alex heard the man yell and saw that he shot him right in the arm. "You rat. All of you will die here. I'll make sure of it." Alex stands up keeping the pistol pointed at the large man. "What are you going to do. We have you outnumbered and I have a gun pointed at your head."

The man grinned as he dropped something from his left hand. Alex eyed the item and suddenly realized what it was. He turned to the blues of his cabin and yelled, "GRENADE!"

"Y'all should go help everyone get out of here but there is something I have to do first." Katie then started walking away before she felt another hand clamp down on her wrist. She turned to see that it was Annabelle this time. "Don't be stupid like her and Addison. Taking the fight to the PSF's isn't safe."

"That's not what I'm doing. Look, a few weeks back I'm POSITIVE that I saw my sister. I don't know if any of you believe me, but I have to look for her just in case it was her. I haven't seen her in two years and I just have to know." Katie looked at each of the girls until landing on Jasmine who said, "I saw her too. She's your twin right? Go find her. Just stay safe." Katie nodded her head as if saying thank you. She then turned around and walked out the door.

Kord felt the blows across his face, it felt like someone was slamming a rock into the side of his head over and over again. He could barely register the words the man had spoken before an after the first hit, but he was more than accustomed enough to know it had to do with making him scream. But in that moment the whats and the whys were hardly registering as his eye's were seeing stars and he could taste the metallic taste of blood within his mouth. Within that moment Kord was pretty sure he was going to die, and the only question he could get into his head was redundant and worthless. Kord felt hazy in that moment, he could imagine the damage happening to his head, it was... terrifying to say the least and the impending death made it worse. When the guard above suddenly shifted his weight and yelped in pain Kord rolled sideways trying to get on his knee's but only managed to fall to his stomach as he gritted his teeth, his head was spinning.

He could barely make out someone talking to him as his ears finally stopped ringing, his eye's went from a blurry whirlwind to a shaky yet more solid image as he saw Bryson near him. He was holding his head and seemed to be in rather intense pain, the next scene seemed to play out slowly as Kord came back to his senses. When he looked over the guard had been reaching for his gun, Alex than appeared to the side of them all with assuredly the same Beretta which had been kicked out of his hand earlier. Everything happened in slow motion, their words played out almost at 1/8th their original speed. When Kord saw the guard pull something from his belt, the realization that it was a grenade only came to him when the pin was pulled and it was slowly going towards the ground. This sick bastard was going to take them all with them. Things seemed to slow down even more as Alex was was starting to yell grenade, it was almost like everything had stopped for Kord, as if entering his own little time space where only he was moving.

His eye's watched the grenade slowly fall into the dirt near the guard, his mind started to race, all scenario's of what was about to happen played through his mind. He could see the inner workings of the grenade, the pin leaving it as the bolt was pulled away, the firing pin than striking the primer igniting the fuse with in. He could see it making its away towards the explosive substance at the bottom which would than explode from within and drive the outer metal shards of the grenade into everyone close by. Kord turned his head, they were too close, they had five seconds at best to cover the distance. Kord turned his head again as he saw the keys on the ground, he turned back towards the guard who was still on the ground, he could just barely see Alex turning ever so slowly to run. There was only one thing Kord could think to do, he reached sideways and grabbed the keys from the ground, he placed them between his fingers. He flew forward, things seems to speed back up as the grenade hit the ground the fuse ticking to their doom. Kord brought his hand up and slammed the keys into the guards neck while his attention was still on Alex. Thick maroon blood spurted from the artery as the man opened his mouth to scream but gurgled instead, a mental timer was counting down in his head, this was stupid as all hell but it was the best he could come up with. Kord let the keys go from between his fingers and pushed the now dieing guard over the grenade.

The guards stomach covered the grenade as Kord pushed his own weight on top of the guards to try and suppress the explosion as much as possible. He knew it was too late to try and run now, he only hoped the armor and the weight over top would stifle the explosion. Images shot through his head of this failing, of the grenade exploding underneath them and blasting up through the guards body and penetrating his. Terrible outcomes to the course of action bombarded him as the timer ticked to its final second and there was a hard thud from underneath him, it was damn near strong enough to nearly throw him off the body but he held, barely. Kord fell sideways, it didn't take him long to realize he had been holding his breath, he let out a few ragged breaths as his chest heaved in and out. His whole decision to come over was really starting to look really really bad, dodging crossfire was really looking better than what he had just lived through. Kord slowly raised his hand up to wipe a some of the blood was from his mouth when he caught site of his hand.

When he saw the fresh darkened soup like blood dripping down it the color seemed to drain a little from his face. He hadn't really thought about in the moment but he had just taken that guards life. Far be it he was trying to kill them all but... the image flashed through his head like a bullet to the brain, he could see the keys going into the guards neck, but it was slow and he could see almost every single moment as the keys cut his skin, and than opened his neck and slid in... Kord's head spasmed as if in pain, it was hard enough that his neck cracked slightly from the sudden movement, he closed his eye's hard, so hard that it hurt his head doing it. An undeniable shiver went through his entire body making him look like he had some sort of second long seizure. When he re-opened his eye's his hand was shaking as the blood dripped off of it. Slowly he looked over at the now mangled body of the PSF, Kord shook his head as his eye's hardened, he got up from the ground pushing away the thoughts that were conflicting him and the emotions that were trying to overcome him.

"Thank you."

The words were somewhat cold and short as Kord offered his thanks for their help, he didn't really know what else to say aside from that.

"We need to get out of here... I don't know who will win... but I don't want to be here when its decided. We stand a better chance together. I am sure we can get out among the fighting."

Again the words were cold and direct, there was not much emotion to them. The momentary emotion he had shown before was replaced by the same stone like gaze he always wore.

Harper Azalea Cartella

She watched Lucy walk out her eyes wide. She looked back at the others at the door and the chaos outside. The chaos, adults fighting adults and children in the mix. It's happening. She looked back at the others in her cabin, blinking back the tears. She was not going to cry, not now. She watched the girl pull Lucy back into the cabin. She pushed a piece of her hair back. She was dead if she stayed, but she didn't want to leave the other girls. They were family at this point, she just hoped that they all got out safely. That she saw them again.
Harper turned to Addison and nodded. She got it, but she didn't understand how she could leave so easily. She could always make them want to fight somehow. She was an orange after all. She discarded the idea as soon as it came. She could not, and would not do that. What was wrong with her?
She turned to the others, listening to there conversation. "Katie is right, it is not safe. " She looked at the younger girls. "I hope to see you on the other side, if not, I might as well be dead." She waved to the other girls, before she ran out the door, and through the chaos. The entrance, the entrance.
