Yes, the Hunger Games series is ten years old. Bear with me anyway.
What the heck is this?
This RP is based entirely on an extremely clever Hunger Games text simulator by BrantSteele. Essentially, you insert the names, genders, and districts of up to 24 players and hit "Proceed." The game comes with dozens of events for each time period (Bloodbath, Day, Night, Feast, and Arena), separated into Lethal and Non-lethal encounters. Each player is randomly assigned one of these events and the results are posted in a list. The events can be modified to be anything, but most are based entirely on things you would find in the Hunger Games.
What makes this worth playing?
For one, you don't have to like the Hunger Games to enjoy this. Doesn't matter if you've watched the movies or read the books. Read the synopsis of the first book on the Wikia for the context and you're good to go. Screw the lore.
The main reason, though, is that it can either be very intense or absolutely hilarious. It moves fast, it has almost zero continuity (one turn you find a knife, the next turn you kill someone with a molotov), and I can decide how fast or slow it moves, which means no waiting around for a week BECAUSE THAT ONE PERSON WON'T FREAKIN' POST ALREADY. Thanks to everything being randomly determined each time period, I can post a new event either weekly or daily without conflicting posts. Deaths are permanent, but since rounds move quickly (if I post daily, it will be over in a week or two), you can rejoin in the next one. I will restart the game as often as people are interested. If you die, no worries. Hang out, enjoy your other RPs, and come back when a new round kicks off.
Also, since the game moves at my own pace and events are randomly generated, you can just sit back and watch what happens. Posting is encouraged, obviously, but if you are just here for the humor, you don't have to post at all. No one will get kicked and no one will be held back by a lack of posts FROM THAT ONE PERSON.
So why is this in Casual?
Because, since all events are predetermined, players can write out how they occurred. Your character searched for fresh water? Write two or three paragraphs about your character doing that. You and someone else teamed up to murder another person? Two or three about that happening. You died? Paragraph or two about your last moments alive. You don't have to worry about conflicting with other people, nor do you have to worry about the GM keeping track of everyone and everything. Each post is two or three paragraphs based on predetermined events. It literally does not get any simpler than that. Heck, you could just use this as a writing prompt to improve yourself. Ideally, everyone will be posting, but the RP will continue at a steady pace, so try to stay on track.
Alright, so what do I need for the CS?
Name, gender, District number.
No seriously, that's all you need...to participate. The CS has slots for age, appearance, bio, and personality, and I would expect everyone to fill in those blanks, but don't stress out over it because your character could die immediately. Thanks to the magic of RNG, stats are irrelevant. No leveling, no inventory, no skills. Again, if you're just in it for the humor, you can get away with just posting the first three slots. If you want to join but a game is already going on, just post your CS OOC and I'll tag you when the next game begins.
Are you seriously going to wait for 24 people to join?
Nope. I'm going to wait for at least eight. 12 minimum would be ideal, since I could have at least one person from every District, but I doubt I'll get that many. I plan to launch it in a week if it gets enough interest, so spread the word! Get your friends involved! Watch the simulator murder you both!
EDIT: I'd forgotten that you cannot start a game unless you have 24 names. I will counter this by letting people submit, for now, up to two character sheets. Any blank spaces will be filled in with something silly, like the name of the mods here or "A puppy" or something
And that's pretty much it. Questions, comments, complaints that this series is no longer relevant?
EDIT: Because I am dumb, I accidentally already made an OOC. However, I would like discussion to continue here for now until enough people have applied for an actual game.
