Aside from her "exotic" looks, Serena has the typical teenager appearance. She's not all that tall, thanks to family genetics, but she makes up for it through her personality. She's more often than not smiling when she's in a good mood, earning her the nickname Smiley. Serena has a tongue piercing, one she acquired behind her parents back after a little convincing from her ex-boyfriend, Greg. Fashion wise, she doesn't follow any one specific trend. She prefers to have a wide variety of items in her wardrobe and she'll wear whatever she feels is best for the occasion.Fierce * Loyal * Smart *
Personality: At times quiet, at times chatty. Serena's personality is primarily guided by her mood. When she's happy, she could conquer the world, yet when she's not feeling too great, she can't hide it. Her facial expressions give her away very easily, and it is one of the few things Serena dislikes about herself.
Despite her slightly intense emotions, Serena is a loyal friend. Many have found comfort in simply opening up to her about their problems, and they always seem to leave satisfied. Serena doesn't mind helping others. In fact, she feels good when she's able to make the slightest positive change in the world. Some would think she's a social butterfly given the fact that she likes offering advice, but Serena enjoys spending time alone just as much as the next person. If she gets her hands on a good book, she could be immersed in the story for hours...

Serena was born and raised in Toronto to a Syrian mother from Damascus and a half Indian father. She's an only child, but she never had a problem making friends and being in the company of others who were her age. From a young age, Serena did well in school. She had a healthy education and social life balance that was kept in check by both of her parents, not that she needed the additional help, but it certainly was welcomed. When she was 14, she started running track. She figured it would help her stay in shape as she got and older as well as avoid any medical issues that stemmed from a lack of exercise. Additionally, Serena followed somewhat of a strict diet, watching her calories and avoiding fast food, but always giving in to temptation when any sweets were put in front of her.
When she was fifteen about to turn sixteen, Serena met her then boyfriend, Greg. They were introduced by a mutual friend and immediately hit it off. Her parents approved, at first, but when they noticed he was starting to become a bad influence on her, they told her to break up with Greg. Serena immediately rebelled, leaving the house for the evening to be with him. That's when she was easily convinced to get her tongue piercing, the procedure done by none other than Greg's older brother. Although a bit painful and uncomfortable few minutes, Serena was thrilled with the overall experience after the fact. She then at the last minute decided to stay with Greg all weekend, much to the disappointment of her parents. Unfortunately for Serena, her weekend was cut short when she got into an argument with Greg. She stormed out of his place and didn't bother contacting him for a week. But the next time she saw him, she had a feeling something wasn't right.
It was Saturday night nearly a week later when Greg picked her up at her house. Some forced pleasantries were exchanged at the door and Serena waved goodbye to her parents, sort of as a reassurance that everything would be alright. But as the evening hours passed, Serena would find out just how wrong she was. They were heading to a secluded industrial area in town that although was great for drag racing, it wasn't all that romantic for a young couple. When they finally parked in an empty lot, Greg very calmly explained to Serena what he was about to do. She immediately tried to run, but didn't get all that far, not even with all the adrenaline coursing through her veins. The sudden, sharp pain is just about the only thing she remembers from that moment on, her mind drawing a blank whenever she tries to come up with an explanation as to how she arrived at the hospital bloodied and surrounded by a number of doctors and staff.
A while later after her full recovery, Serena's mom delivered a letter up to her room that was addressed to her, one that would certainly be welcomed given what she'd been through.Advice To The World: Learn to love yourself first before you learn to love others.
