So, is this still alive? Sorry for the doublepost, I've been pretty busy and the whole computer dying thing didn't help matters much, been busy fixing that as well. Whatever the case, I've finished my bio, but before that: from what I can tell eddieddi just gets to say his unit has better armor than regular class 10 units for free? There isn't a single mention of that in the bio beyond "this mech was made by people that made good armor", which could be perfectly accounted for by being a class 10 machine, and just getting an armor advantage to no cost and claiming it nullifies other people's weapons with just a fluff post to it sounds unfair to me, like he's making an exception for himself regarding the system exactly like he told Barioth he wouldn't be doing. Of course, I don't support an acid spray if it can just ignore Class 10 armor either, but simply coming up with an excuse post as to why his armor is superior to other people's to no cost whatsoever sounds even worse.
He also contradicts himself with his missiles by saying they "lack a direct use in combat or cracking enemy armour" and then immediately follows it up with "however against heavily defended or armoured foes they are highly effective due to the penetrating effects and the ease of getting in amongst vital things". I'm not trying to start anything here, I'm just saying it honestly looks like eddieddi gets away with things he said shouldn't be allowed just because he's a co-gm, which is rather unfair. I'll just shut up post my bio now.
Name: Lev Bravyj
Nickname: The Black Knight (never personally used, given by others)
Age: ??
Height: 6 feet 2
Weight: 240 pounds
Background: Freedom fighter, drifter
Character theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dc0l9tkQPU
Bio: The stories and rumours about the "black knight" frame and the man behind its controls are numerous, at times contradictory and seemingly range back to the early years of the great wars, which has led to the very reasonable assumption that it hasn't been a single man or even a single machine that have taken up this distinctive identity. Whatever the case, the chaotic state of the world makes it impossible to discern the truth of the matter beyond the simple, accurate information presented below.
Assuming there have indeed been others before, which is uncertain at best, the man currently referred to as the black knight is a stern and recalcitrant warrior by the name of Lev Bravyj, who has definitely been active under the moniker for at least a couple of years. Obviously of russian ancestry, he carries himself in the dignified manner of a knight errant, roaming the world, providing aid to those who cannot help themselves and constantly seeking to test and improve his own skill at arms.
Lev is not a nationalist, a mercenary, a scavenger or a bandit; he does not fight for nor hold any allegiance towards his decimated and barely organized homeland nor does he seek to raise his own status and wealth in this broken world or lord his power over those who cannot hope to match it. Above all, Lev is a man of the people, he fights for those who lack the strength to stand up for themselves so that they may grow and prosper. This approach to life in the "New Wild West" often puts him at odds with the more immoral and opportunistic types of the current era, who he tends to regard as despicable and barbaric, often worthy only of a grudging level of respect should their strength in battle prove adequate.
Although helping the common man is important to him, Lev by no means plans to spend the rest of his life simply solving people's problems one at a time, no, for him the ultimate goal, the only objective that matters in the long run, is restoring a semblance of order upon the world.
Description: Lev is a tall, fair-skinned, brown-eyed leonine man whose facial wrinkles and slightly greying hair betray the middle age his body, built like that of a heavyweight prizefighter, is far from feeling or otherwise showing. Lev carries himself in the dignified, powerful manner of a man bearing the weight of nobility and honor on his shoulders, taking great pains to not appear dirty or disheveled. He keeps his mane of greying black hair neatly combed back and his thick beard soberly trimmed and styled, while his clothes, which consist of an all-black three-piece suit, discreet black boots and a black trenchcoat with his personal emblem embroidered over the heart, always look immaculate and brand new.
A note on practicality, while the ensemble is indeed worn with the thought of appearences in mind, it's definitely not just for show. Lev's vest is actually an expensive composite materials armor which makes it all but impervious to penetration from small arms fire, shrapnel and assorted melee weapons, which is not to say that the impact is completely nullified, but it's certainly far better than most other alternatives that aren't hardsuits. As for the trenchcoat, it is full of hidden pockets, allowing Lev to conceal a number of small items such as more portable firearms and an assortment of knives, including an ivory-hilted spanish navaja with an engraved blade which Lev seems particularly fond of and which can appear in his hands in the blink of an eye, should the situation call for it.
FRAME:
Production name: HM Series B.Guard 004-RDL
Current Name: Belarios
Description:
BelariosWell, couldn't find a picture for what I wanted and I don't like stealing existing designs anyway, so this'll have to do for now. Picture isn't really accurate, the Belarios is designed to be a sleek, elegant Frame which evokes the figures of both a knight and that of a noble duelist or fencer, a lightweight machine with little in the way of armor and unnecessary bulk that carefully integrates and camouflages its built-in pseudo flight system and network of thrusters to the unit's body in both a functional and aesthetically pleasing manner. The unit is primarily colored in black with shades of grey employed for detailing work as well as its joints. The machine also bears Lev's personal coat of arms on its right pauldron, a red heater shield emblazoned with two heraldic lions in gold holding up a white lance, with the inscription "The abuse of greatness is when it disjoins remorse from power" written on a scroll underneath.
Weight Class: 3
Weapons Descriptions:
-Prototype Nanoforged Ethus Sword "Kladenets" (2): A highly advanced weapon from the time before the collapse of civilization, devised when it was realized that close quarters combat between Frames was not only a possibility but often a decisive factor in engagements. Resembling a schiavona (a type of straight bladed, double edged, basket hilted sword) with an iridescent silver blade, ivory grip and polished brass pommel and handguard, the advanced nanotechnology employed in the forging of Kladenets already makes it an outstanding solid sword, harder than diamonds and frighteningly, perpetually sharp, but that is not the weapon's sole function: by connecting straight to the Frame's generator via an especially designed interface built into the Belarios' body and OS, Kladenets' blade can channel power straight from the Ethus Powerplant, sheathing the blade in crackling energy that increases its power and allows it to pierce through defenses that would normally repel solid blades. Furthermore, its basket hilt construction is not merely for show, as it's forged in a similar manner as the blade and can thus serve as an effective makeshift bludgeon and somewhat less effective defensive measure should the situation call for it. Kladenets needs to be carried around in a specially constructed full metal scabbard, colored matte white, as even without the Ethus Channel active the blade is dangerous enough to warrant it.
"Udar Groma" Electrolaser Pistol (1): A peculiar weapon, rather than create an extremely high intensity continuous beam to "cut" through materials or a more traditional focused blast, what the Belarios' electrolaser pistol does is use its laser to create a plasma channel conduit down which a powerful electric current can travel down, essentially making the weapon a directed lightning gun. It's a low-efficiency weapon, not particularly effective for dealing damage against heavily armored opponents and its scaled down size means it lacks the power and range of larger guns, however it is still quite effective for staggering enemies: the combination of a sudden high-power electric discharge along with the resulting bright flash, sonic boom and the fact that an enemy craft just literally fired a bolt of lightning are quite effective at scrambling both pilots' and Frames' senses and knocking them off-balance for even a fraction of a second, enough for Lev to close in and finish the job with Kladenets. Externally, the Udar Groma is made to resemble a fancy dueling pistol made of ivory and brass, because it might as well match Kladenets in design, no?
Additional Notes: The Belarios is designed for high speed close range combat, its lithe frame not only houses an impressive array of thrusters spread all over the body, which grant it spectacular speed and maneuverability, but it's also set up to allow for a full humanlike range of motion, rendering it surprisingly agile as well, though all of this comes at the cost of armor. To further add to its abilities, the unit is equipped with a built-in pseudo flight system which, as the name implies, doesn't grant sustained flight capabilities but still somewhat counteracts the effects of gravity, allowing a unit equipped with the device to levitate a foot or two off the ground and giving it a slowed, easily controlled descent while airborne, affording a decent level of aerial combat via extensive thruster use.
Also of note is its dangerous means of control. Rather than a standard cockpit setup, the Belarios is piloted by a Direct Feedback System, a complete movement tracing system that sees Lev strapped to a large, armor-like bodysuit complete with a face-obscuring display-mounted helmet, which subsequently attaches itself to the cockpit's control interface. The system allows for a remarkable degree of precision in Frame movement down to the finest joints and motions, increases response time and returns feedback directly to the pilot's body, allowing for a greater degree of "sense" while piloting. Its benefits, while considerable, were generally believed to be offset by its drawbacks: the DFS requires a very physically adept pilot to start with, and even with active shock dampeners and life support systems it proved to be highly stressful on pilots' bodies, which combined with the lack of a quick escape method by the pilot should his craft be damaged to ensure a very high lethality rate during the system's trial run. Despite these shortcomings, Lev insists on retaining the system, claiming it's more personal nature, higher degree of control and "victory or death" element are particularly well suited for his craft and fighting style.
Past Encounter: (i'll come up with one soon)
