Thank you for taking an interest in this post!
My goal is to join the creativity and thoughtfulness forum RP allows with the practical application of tabletop dice rolls. What that means to me is two simple things - RP comes first! Dice rolls/stats/number stacking are just tools to move the scenes forwards. If you enjoy just stacking stats and breaking game systems, this campaign is probably not for you.
As DM, I will be using materials from: Deathwatch Core Rulebook, First Founding, Rite of Battle, Honour the Chapter, Mark of Xenos, Jericho Reach, Outer Reach, Ark of Lost Soul, Rising Tempest, Achilus Assault, Dark Heresy Core, DH:Daemon Hunter, Black Crusade, Errata ((mostly updated weapon stats)).

You may use any version you like for a character sheet, as long as players information matches the DM!

RULES FOR PARTICIPATION:
1. Respect the Players! This includes your DM! I'm not in this to tell you "No", my job is to keep things balanced and move things along. I can be wrong, if you have an issue, PM me.
2. Respect the Lore. I love this universe, and hopefully you do as well! All I ask is you don't change any major things...For example...You may be a Wolf Guard to your favorite Wolf Lord, however, you may not be an established character. You cannot change history but you may just effect the future...
3. Respect the Rules. Making a tabletop game work in forums is difficult. Somethings may not apply or translate well. We are figuring this out together, please be patient. As often as I can, if it's in print, that's the rule.

If you are interested, joining this campaign goes as follows:
1. Register an account with www.orokos.com ((Don't worry, it's free!))

2. Go to Roll Some Dice and fill out the fields as follows:
Character: Your characters name for THIS campaign/session of RP
Campaign: Deathwatch - First Amongst Equals
Description: Character Creation
Dice to Roll: 10#2d10+30, 1d5+18, 1d10, 1d10
Stats. Wounds. Fate. OPTIONAL: Personal Demeanor ((Everyone will have a Personal & Chapter Demeanor))

3. Create an OOC post with the following info:
Core Class: Tactical, Assault, Tech, Apothecary, Devastator, Librarian ((If you create a Librarian, PM DM first))
Sub Classes: Wolf Scout (SW), Ravenwing Veteran (DA), Sanguinary Priest(BA), Tyrannic War Veteran (Ultra), Kill-Marine (any), Black Shield ((PM DM))
Chapter: Ultramarines, Black Templars, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, Storm Wardens, Salamanders, Iron Hands, Raven Guard, White Scars, Blood Ravens,Imperial Fists, Red Scorpions, Marines Errant, Flesh Tearers, Crimson Fists, Howling Griffons, Novamarines, Raptors, Angels Encarmine, Angles Sanguine, Angles Vermillion, Angels of Vengence, Disciples of Caliban, Guardians of the Covenant, Doom Eagles, Fire Angels, Silver Skulls, Knights of the Raven, Sons of Medusa, Fire Hawks, Astral Claws, Exorcists, Fire Lords, Minotaurs, Star Phantoms & Invaders.
NO PC created chapters! ((This may be temporary, but for now it will make my life easier if we use material I can easily reference for game mechanics, again PM me if this is an issue for you))

Name: Full name, rank, title ect. Who were you known as amongst your Brothers before your service in Deathwatch
CC Stats: Out of the 10 you rolled, drop the lowest, leaving you with 9. You may place the 9 in any order you see fit. Include your Wounds & Fate totals.
Weapon Skill (WS), Ballistics Skill (BS), Strength (S), Toughness (T), Agility (Ag), Intelligence (Int), Perception (Per), WillPower (WP), Fellowship (Fel).
Demeanor: if you choose to roll, list the number and I'll let you know what it is. Otherwise choose from one of the following- Calculating, Gregarious, HotBlooded, Studious, Taciturn, Pious, Stoic, Scornful, Ambitious, Proud

((Don't worry, character creation is not done! I haven't forgotten anything, we are coming back to this shortly!))

4. Answer these questions: Have you played Deathwatch before? If so, do you have access to the materials?

5. Create an IC sample/introduction post. This is an opportunity to Godmode some things about your characters before we begin. Enjoy this moment while it lasts, these opportunities will be few and far between.
I am looking for very specific information included in this post though I don't particularly care on how you structure your post.

IC Post MUST INCLUDE: A physical description of your Space Marine. Descriptions/reactions/preparations for Deathwatch service. Your scene MUST END with you preparing to exit a Thunderhawk that has docked with an unnamed Battlebarge, moments before official conscription into Deathwatch. 4-6 sentences minimum.
Ideas/Hints: Each Chapter has different views on Deathwatch service; where were you when you found out? How did you prepare yourself? How was your last day spent? How did your Chapter recognize this? Any final words from a close friend, commander, or rival? Did you bring your armour with you or does your chapter keep it for safeguarding until your return? This is your chance to give us some insight to who you are!

GENERAL INFO/FAQs
This campaign will be locked at most 2 Squads of 8 Players total. Once your character sheet is approved by DM and Intro IC post is completed, you are 100% approved and locked in for play.
Participation is expected a minimum of every 2 weeks for combat rolls, you may post more for RP as long as it doesn't change an encounter we are already in (game mechanic). If you can't make it PM me. If you are gone an extended period of time DM control will kick in. (I try run other peoples characters as passively as possible, allowing for present PCs to make important choices. I will always look for a way to park an PCs character someplace safe/lore friendly, though I can't guarante saftey when dice rolls are concerned, it is what it is.)
Dice Rolls,Turn Actions/Order and general game mechanic issues will be addressed in future postings.
IC post may OOC directions or notes. These will be found at the bottom of the post in double brackets, example (( )) More on this later.
XP progression will be posted in OOC after missions are completed, you may spend XP during rest periods ((more on this later))

Once everyone has completed these steps, or 3/16/14 arrives, we will move on to our first scene/encounter and we will do our next step of Character Creation. First PC to get DM approval gains +XP bonus!

I will basically pick whatever area Ollum does not cover since so far we have a Tactical, Apothecary, and a scout. Both are really fun ideas to play. I cannot do my black templar badassery as easily right off the bat i think whereas I can jump right into heavy bolter goodness with my Dark Angel.

I'm probably going to make a psyker. at this point I'm really just hung up on what chapter to follow. I was going to make an apothecary because I was worried no one else would. but we seem to have one.

Ollum, I can always switch if you want to be the Apothecary. Its just a minor tweak for me, and I don't particularly like being the medic XD

So why did you take it out of curiosity?

I don't care either way. I'm just happy deathwatch is being played. If your not going to have fun with an Apothocary than by all means take something else.

Omega: from past groups I've DM'd for I've notice this- you may not always have use/need for Jump Pack, but you always have use for a big gun.
Ollumhammersong: If you want to know more about Chapter Specific powers PM me and I'll look it up.

Everyone else: If you have started the Character Creation process AND have access to the Core materials...you may go ahead and finish spending your starting XP on Stats/Skills/Abilities/Powers ect.

DO NOT: Roll for Past Event, Roll for Power Armour/History. Some of your RP may have an effect on this.
GEAR: Everyone starts as a Deathwatch Recruit. You are issued x1 Close Combat Knife, x1 Bolt Pistol, x1 Boltgun, Codex, Grey Deathwatch Jumpsuit, Chapter Trapping

True, but statwise they're rather unimpressive XD. Its hard to find a nice balance between something thats useful in combat and in utility. Usually, it's one or the other.

An Apothocary is just as capable of killing things as anyone else. Their still space marines.
