Exactly what it says on the tin, we are three players waiting and just need one or two more players to get the RP starting.
Feel free to ask questions as I will clarify any as best as I can.

Details are as follows:
    5th Edition Character sheets are used

    Standard point buy, no rolling for stats.

    All races in standard, Xanthar, and UA approved but if you want to use a home brew clear it with me.

    All classes from standard, Xanthar, and UA approves but again anything homebrew or third party bring it up with me first.

    We will start at level 3.

    For starting items you may have items given to you via your first class and your background. After that you have 500 GP budget for anything else.

    You are allowed alchemical items like alchemy fire or potions of healing, but no purchasing of magical or wonderius items even if they’re cheap.

    More rules later on as the GM think about them.

The plot can go both ways depending on the GM.
The first mainly revolves around desperate adventurers delving into the ancient ruins of Norn. Mysterious ruins that may hold the things they desire the most.
The details for the second however is a mystery as the GM has yet to provide any information on what semblance of a plot and story he has for it.

Hey Sea, no experience with tabletop, but I'm mildly interested. Are there any supplements allowed or just the main hand book?

If you want people to actually show interest in joining you have to provide details. You tell us to ask questions and you clarify as best as you can, how are we supposed to ask questions when there is NOTHING for us to have questions about?

Look at any interest check and you will see what you need to do.

What does "5e-esque" mean? Are you using 5e core rules? Are you using homebrew? What's accepted? What's not? What's the plot? What characters do you have already? What do you need? What level? What's the starting gear?

These are only a small handful of questions I have on this Int Check. Please provide a ton more info on your campaign. "What it says on the tin" only leads to a million more questions. @Burning Kitty has the idea right here.

@Duthguy
Supplements are allowed but its mostly a homebrew by the GM.

@Burning Kitty
Apologies, first time making an advertisement interest check. I'll do better next time.

@rocketrobie2
According to the GM, it would be either we recycle the plot of the RP we are trying to salvage or starting up a new one. The old one revolves around desperate adventurers delving into the ruins of an ancient city to look for the answers they seek. May it be a cure for a curse, wealth, lost and forbidden tomes, or simply an experience of a lifetime.
As for the new plot, it really depends on the GM what he would like to do.

@JBRam2002
Again I apologize for the inconvenience. The 5th edition -esque things are as stated by the GM:

Same setting, and here is the basics for character sheets.

Standard point buy, no rolling for stats.

All races in standard, Xanthar, and UA approved but if you want to use a home brew clear it with me.

All classes from standard, Xanthar, and UA approves but again anything homebrew or third party bring it up with me first.

Oh wow, an Interest Check for an RP I'm running? Thank you kindly.

So yeah, I'm the GM of this 5e game I've been hankering to run. When I mentioned 5e-esque I meant that the baseline mechanics and rules are from 5e, with liberal applications of the "DM discretion" rule. Don't expect things to always be concrete; I'm more than willing to alter or change things to either ensure the players can enjoy the game, or to curb abuse, possibly even both.

And while I'm mostly okay if you want to alter some materials via homebrew (For example making full-blooded orcs have half-orc benefits) than I'm totally down with that, but newer things like building an entire race, class, spell, or item from the ground up, utilizing a new, different mechanic will require some discussion both in PM and public.

Aside from that I would need at the minimum 4 people for this party, and the most I'll take is 6. If you have a pet class I will limit those to only 2 for the entire party. Having a familiar or a literal pet is fine, but if it's core to your character's abilities like a beastmaster ranger or a chain pact Warlock, again I'll only accept two for the party. This also includes if you're a necromancer and wish to at some point create an army or undead.

Additionally if you have any hirelings, while I'll leave their exact nature of their personalities and background to you, do be aware that I'll be taking control of them for anything that requires a roll or some level of independent action away from the PC. That is to say, I reserve the right to have them mysterious vanish if you neglect them or something. Take care of your minions or I shall.

I think 4 players is the most we can have as of now. Maybe we should just start the RP and leave the join status to 'apply' and see if that nets us one or two more players? Either way, I think you should teach Duth the CS and other things already.

I would like to join. I have experience with 5e and roleplaying. Can I just use a character I already have made as long as it adheres to 5e rules?

Alright, suppose there's enough of an interest to gather up a posse. First to address some initial stuff:

I got two plot ideas which may change gameplay depending how you guys handle it. Firstly as Serath mentioned, I could rehash the original plot where you're all basically adventurers going into a dungeon delve for reasons related to yourself. you might not even be together as a group, and frankly I would expect PvP to occur for whatever reasons that seem logical for you. In terms of plot there is something of a secret within the ruins, but otherwise it's much more character driven; that is to say the only reason anything happens is because you as a player are going out of your way to make something happen.

The second prompt is what I call "classic fantasy" in that one or all of you have been selected to journey forth on a quest that shall ultimately end with you vanquishing some sort of evil. Now I dislike being the type of GM who says you can't be an evil person, but at the same time this plot does not bold well for you types who would feel compelled to do evil or otherwise have a motive outside of the scoop of stopping the evil that threatens you/your loved ones/the world. Additionally, it's also not the type of plot that specifically would reward you for being evil, such as killing merchants so you can steal their goods or general murder hobo shenanigans. That being said I only mention this because you may not be rewarded as well as you'd wish, and of course there is consequences, but you're free to do so if you'd like. If you decide to completely scurry away from the plot, well, life goes on and the looming threat of the world will simply occur without your interference.

Character sheets will be made through Google Sheets, so I would recommend that you create a google account to utilize them. This is not only for the purpose of having an automatic sheet, but also for general record keeping and such.

Lastly, I may or may not be creating my own character for the RP. I'll be honest; I never much liked being a DM, never felt quite as fun as being one of the fellows rolling the die along my allies. Does that mean I'll use my position to grant myself additional abilities and such? Eh. Yes and no. Yes, I would probably end up using my character as a sort of plot hook if I feel that it is needed. Perhaps my character will discover some sort of strange power that would entice you all into investigating so that you too can obtain this power. Maybe I'll just make them the fall guy to make something happen like gambling debts, getting kidnapped, having a plot maguffin go missing, etc. Don't feel too bad if you come to blows with my character; I am not infallible so I will make mistakes. Call me out on them if you wish. Doesn't always mean you'll win in the end, but maybe you will. Regardless a DMPC will be included.

@Pathtowrath You are quite obviously a new guy, seems like you just made this account recently and christened your first post in this interest check. While I don't mind if you already got a character in mind, of course I cannot say yes or no until the character is finalized. As mentioned before, while i will generally accept materials from core, UA, Xanthar, and whatever other few books I vaguely recall, homebrews must be brought up to me first, and if there happens to be something I don't know that is within the previous sources and would question, I would appreciate seeing some sources.

In anycase, @Riaxh@Searat@Assallya@Duthguy@Pathtowrath, read this post and please vote or discuss what ideas you'd like to have in terms of plot.

@Lucius Cypher I think both idea's sound good but believe that going all out pvp is only feasible short term and I don't know how long you want the campaign to be

PvP is largely an optional thing for you to do in either situations. The first one sorta allows it since there's no inheritance reason why any of you should work together (though it's highly advised you do for your own survival) whereas the second one is expected since you're all going to be gathered as a team.

As for the campaign length, I'm in no rush. Frankly I don't expect to even finish the campaign due to the potential length, at least for the second plot idea. Again with the first plot, that's largely dependent on the players own desire to continue to delve into the dungeon world.

First idea sounds appealing, though I'd be fine with either. PvP squabbles sound fun if theres some incentive to not let it devolve too far.
