Midoriya nodded to the girl's answer. He let out a silent sigh of relief. He managed to cheer her up without messing up in the middle. It was a bit of a progress for him. In his perspective, at least. Nensu, along with her brother, had one of the flashiest quirks in their class, and along with it a good heart. He'd hate to see them feel down by what they had to go through. Especially for Nensu, who had a scar that she might had to take it to the grave. Midoriya reached out a hand to her and brushed her hand gently before quickly pulling away, a slight shade of pink sparking on his cheeks.
"D...don't worry, you'll do fine!"
He said.

Meanwhile, Hiems realized that he was giving Yaoyorozu an unnecessary amount of glances and decided that he might as well try bringing some bread for the soup, completely ignoring what he was doing for the past few minutes.

---

After a nice meal and some recreation time to help quench the boredom of the one's who couldn't reach the highlights of the festival, the final event that many waited for, or dreaded, arrived. The tournament battles, held in a concrete arena in the middle of the stadium. Midnight announced the first eight matches that were randomly paired, where the students were to fight against each other to reach the first place, and get the shiny gold medal of the whole festival. The combatants for the first battle were guided to each ends of the arena...

"ROUND ONE! A STUDENT ALL THE WAY FROM AMERICA OF 1-A WHO'S HARDLY FLASHY COMPARED TO ANYONE IN IT! HIEMS GALE!"
Present Mic's voice boomed across the stadium, somehow managing to introduce a boring person so passionately.
"Huh."
Hiems muttered.
"VERSUS! THE BRAIN OF CLASS 1-A, NOTHING SHE CAN'T MAKE! YAOYOROZU MOMO!"

The rest of the break was kind of peaceful, and with Midoriya having to talk to her, Nensu felt her mind to be at ease - at least, temporarily. The only response that she gave the other teen was a small smile, in return to his own, as if she appreciated his support when it came to situations like this. Once again, the girl felt that sense of security again, and she still couldn't figure out whether if this was her doing...or Deku's. If it were the green-haired boy, then it somehow held some kind of restraint for her. That was when she thought back to the attack at the fair: She heard him scream in pained scream, she felt herself being pushed in keeping Loma underneath her skin. Her strong drive and desire to protect those she cares about, probably had something to do with it.

Nensu probably wasn't paying attention but then she felt a gentle brush against her hand. She looked up to see Deku's hand reaching her own, and before she could react, he pulled away. The gesture made her smile in quiet amusement.

---------------------

Momo looked at Heims on the other end of the arena, and she wondered what was on his mind. The one thing she could think about, the past few days, was the fact that she sneaked (broke) into his house, and yet, she didn't know why. She did claim to him that she was only worried because of what happened at the USJ, but what else could it be? It was kind of unlike her to enter someone's house uninvited, but the worry only continued to grow at that time.

The starting buzzer went off loudly, and the crowd cheered out loud. Hiems waited for a moment before he started walking towards his opponent. Unlike her, he didn't have much complicated thoughts inside. It was a fight, and it just started. He had no reason to hesitate, except for when he really had to. Before saying anything, he jumped into action. Frost covered his limbs, torso, and neck as he took step by step towards the raven haired girl. The frost grew into a thin layer of ice, then a chunk. The pieces cracked into shape as Hiems moved his body, taking shape of proper armor with each crack and recovery. As he was only a few meters away from Yaoyorozu, he stopped.
"..."
He let out a breath out of his mouth. A handful of cold vapor descended from his mouth to his knees, slowly disappearing into the thin air before it could touch the ground. Then, he charged, fists raised to a guard, torso lowered, straight towards her without hesitation.

Momo was already on the move as soon as the buzzer went off. Apart from her usually-confident self, she was honestly showing signs of self-doubt over the past few days of getting ready for the Sports Festival. Her quirk may be good enough for creating various tools that she and her teammates could use in battle, but it has become a lot harder recently, due to the fact that there are certain objects that are needed yet she can’t make. The only thing Yaoyorozu could do at the moment is to create a metal shield, to block the incoming attack that Hiems had already launched towards her, having to land on the shield with a clang!

Hiems stopped for a small portion of time as his fist clashed against the metal shield. So she greeted him with a shield. Before she could counter him, he started punching the shield continuously. At the same time he concentrated his quirk on his fists, making them colder and colder with each impact. 'Metal.' He thought.
"A bit of a surprise, I gotta admit. I thought you would dodge."
He said out loud.

Momo grunted every time Heims landed his fists into the shield, which obviously made the barricade vibrate within her hand. Yaoyorozu was able to temporarily use her one hand to hold the shield in place, while using her free hand to create another weapon, to which she could use to knock him off balance: A whip, to which she used to wrap around his ankle, and pulled.

The whip caught Hiems off guard. He did not expext her to create a whip, or he didn't expect her to resist at that timing at all. When he felt something wrap around his ankle, he flinched, and stopped attacking. He was already off balance when he realized the girl has used a whip against him.
"Welp."
His tied leg yanked him forward, and though his reflexes tried to resist his lazy mind decided he could accept that failure for a moment(which was not really cool at all). Gravity did its deed and knocked him on his back. Hiems didn't even care to let out a yelp of pain, and instead fell down with his arms spread to the side.
"A NICE TIMED COUNTER FROM YAOYOROZU MOMO! LOOKS LIKE THE TIDE HAS TURNED!"
'Actually this is more comfortable than I thought.' Hiems told to himself as he felt the cool concrete on his back. And of course the pain from the impact. He looked up at Yaoyorozu, ready to spring away when she attacked again.

With Hiems landing on the ground, Momo stood above him, having to keep her hold onto the whip and shield. The two pieces might not be enough against his ice attacks, but they should be able to aim Yaoyorozu in defending herself from his punches, as well as launch some hits from a long distance. “Giving up already?”, she asked him. Not in a cocky way, but a rather confused and curoius way. Was he really done, after landing in such a position?

On the sidelines, Nensu watched the scene, before having to catch a glimpse of a familiar shade of red-orange, in the distance. Was it him? After all of these years, she had to catch sight of him at a time like this. As a reflex, she had to close her eyes to make sure what she saw, was either just her imagination or real-life. She really hoped it wasn’t the latter.

Hiems returned Yaoyorozu's question with his usual empty, lazy stare. Was he giving up? The concrete surely felt great. But was he? He gave himself an extra moment to enjoy the floor before he could finally deliver his real answer to the raven haired girl. He kicked himself off the ground, his fists rising, balling up again for a fight. No, he wasn't giving up yet. Not when she had so much fight in her left.
"Thats a no, I guess."
He said as he lunged.

Midoriya caught a glimpse of the flaming red beard in the distance. There was no way him, out of anyone else, could mistake the number 2 hero of Japan. Endeavor, his beard flaming as always, had decided to attend the Sports Festival in person. The green haired boy nervously turned to Nensu.
"...are you doing alright?"
He asked.

Having to perform a dive roll, Yaoyarozu dodged Heims' advancement, having to stay on her knees behind him, before standing back up. "Well, I suppose that we can just roll with it", the raven-haired girl voiced aloud, before having to get into a more-prepared stance, if Heims was going to charge again.

Nensu had her head down, just as Midoriya showed his concern for her, due to the fact that Endeavor was in the distance. The girl's eyes were shut, as if hoping her father would disappear the next time she would open them. "For now", she honestly told him, while having to hold her own hands, and begin to fidget.

Hiems miserably kissed the concrete as Yaoyorozu ducked and let him fly over her. Of course there was no way she was taking the hit at that distance-but he wanted to be a bit more dramatic. Or maybe he was going a bit easy on her. No specific reason for that. He jumped back to his feet and turned to face the girl. She was waiting for him in a prepared stance. A whip and a shield. If she had something like a baton instead of a whip it would've been more threatening up close. But if he got close enough he could deal with that whip. 'Just a little bit...'
"You're nice. I'll say that."
He muttered, and took a deep breath. 'Just a little bit.' He told himself again. The next moment, the ice around his body started to regenerate much quickly than before. Thin, hardly noticable layer of frost covered the floor near the boy's feet. 'About... 30.' He charged towards her, but evidently faster than the last charge.

Yaoyorozu had her shield ready, but the strength behind the contact of the other teen’s charge, causing her to stumble for only a second, before eventually recovering. Having to hold her shield in such a way, and to ensure the strength behind the impact, had caused her to feel an ache in her wrist, which traveled up her arm. If Hiems had his way, then her only defense would strain. Her best bet was to try and attack with her whip. For that thought, she launched the whip in his direction.

Hiems saw Momo launch the whip towards him again. Unluckily for her he wasn't going to go easy anymore. He pushed himself flat against the shield to keep out of her range, and wrapped his fingers around the metal tool. He could punch her shield all day, but that was a waste of good punches. She could just make a new replacement if he managed to damage it beyond its strength. So the best solution was pushing it out of his way.
"...let's have a face to face talk."
He said as he pushed the shield to the left and away from them.

Missing Hiems entirely, Momo’s eyes widened, as soon as the taller male stood before her, having to knock away her shield, so there wouldn’t be any way for her to hide from his attacks. The raven-haired girl stared at him, trying to figure what his next move was going to be. Was he going to punch her in the face? She just wasn’t sure. Momo only had her whip, but judging by his standing position, it would be near impossible for her to use, if he decides to be up-close.

Blinking once, the female closed her eyes tightenly, while holding the weapon in her hand, strengthening her grip around it, before officially dropping it, allowing it to fall at her feet. There was a huge chance that he would have beaten her anyway, considering the fact that she couldn’t exactly come up with a strategy that would be proven flawless. “Go ahead. You win, so go ahead”.

Hiems' arm was halfway to punching when he heard her give up. Did she now? The arm stopped awkwardly midair and hovered for a few seconds while Hiems processed the girl's words. 'She what?' He thought as he lowered his arm. The confused boy took the leisure to scratch his chin. So she surrendered... Maybe she saw no chance of winning him. A bit of a shame- she had so many chances to be victorious.
"Well, if you say so."
He said as Midnight raised her whip. The hero standing referee had heard her words, and accepted it as words of surrendering. The buzzer went off loudly as the decoration flames went on again. The crowd cheered at the end of a fierce battle, which was sadly a bit of a easy end. No matter what they seemed to like it. Hiems stood in front of Yaoyorozu, before patting her on the shoulder and turning around. That was all, a pat on the shoulder. He didn't stay to explain how she didn't suck, as he knew it wasn't the best way to treat someone in such a situation. Maybe someone else could cheer her up, but not him, not now.

Mono waited for the fist to come, but all she really felt was the breeze of his fist stopping in mid-air. Opening her eyes, she came face to face with the other teen, who did nothing but gave the female a pat on the shoulder, before walking away. All she did was stare at him when he walked away, trying to figure out whether if it was a joke, or a genuine act. Whatever it was, Yaoyorozu followed suite in walking off out of the ring.

Nensu watched the scene before her, and it confused her, just slightly. Momo would have easily outsmarted Heims during such an encounter, but then, what was going through the other girl’s mind, that made her stop? It took the female Todoroki to eventually realize that she would be facing Deku in the next round. She swallowed almost nervously, but then, she took a breath, and entered the ring, looking up to see the green-haired teen on the other end.

Midoriya gulped as he stood against Nensu on the open concrete arena. She was one of the opponents he wanted to avoid, in many ways, but now he had to face her. He looked down at his hands. He hadn't hurt a part of it yet-and at this point he guessed he had to. A shot per each stream of ice gave him ten chances to resist. If he ran out of fingers... well, he'd have to find out another way.
"NEXT OFF! THE UNEXPECTED SHOOTING STAR OF 1-A MIDORIYA IZUKU AGAINST THE FLASHIEST SIBLINGS OF THE 1ST YEAR'S HERO COURSE TODOROKI NENSU! FIGHT!"
The buzzer went off loudly, and the crowd cheered once again-expecting a better, huge scaled fight this time. Though they didn't see Midoriya use his quirk that much, it was obvious they were expecting something big. 'Here we go.' Midoriya told himself. He raised his fingers towards Nensu, ready to shoot whenever she struck.

Nensu locked eyes with the other teen, having to wonder what extent this fight made that bring for the both of them. By the looks of his starting position, the girl took a deep breath, before sprinting towards him, and moving her arm, sending a trail of spiked ice towards the boy. They obviously haven’t practiced, just she had offered, but she hoped things didn’t get out of hand, and that Midoriya came prepared. At this rate, she was more concerned for him, than she was for for herself.

“Think quickly!”, she told him, before sending a blaze of fire afterwards.

Midoriya's eyes widened at the two strikes coming at him- ice and fire together. Something he didn't expect, and really didn't wish to happen, happening right in front of his eyes. Midoriya shook his head and concentrated. She was approaching him, which meant it gave him a chance to spare a finger or two in the fight if he was lucky enough. Midoriya calmly aimed for the moment the fire and the ice was in one line-he had to save his shots as much as he could- and smashed. He winced in pain as a shockwave was shot into the air. The stream of ice shattered in its way, and the blaze of fire was dissipated from the sheer force of the shot. Midoriya looked forward, bracing for more incoming attacks from the girl.

Nensu placed her arms in front of her face, as soon as the wind from the shockwave blew right past her; her color-differing hair blowing. Making a hum, she looked at Midoriya with narrowed eyes. As much as she didn’t know a lot about his quirk, all she could say, was the fact that the other teen was prepared on whatever she might throw at him. In a way, it made her a bit curious on the thought.

At the same time, she sent another wave on the ground. Even if Midoriya managed to dissipate it, Nensu was already on the move, having to appear behind him, this time, on a sheet of ice, giving him a kick to his back. As much as it contrasts her more gentle nature, the girl’s temperament was a lot different on the battlefield, where she is more than willing to lay the hurt on someone else. This time, however, there was hesitation within her strikes, considering that the teen she’s facing, was a friend.
