@Burning Kitty does the clan ship have a name that's different from its class name or our clan name? I'm just going to call it the Glorious Heritage for now and change it later if need be.

In typing up my post I realized my character doesn't have her Omni-tool so she can't do what I was planning to do. So I'll post it here, consider it a deleted scene.

Then went further in using her Pipboy's flashlight feature to light the way. She checked on her Omni-tool the status for the rest of the Specters.

I have interest in participating if you'll take me, but I also have a bunch of questions before getting into things like character writing:

Based on the information on the Artifacts spreadsheet it looks like you're using the word Artifact as just a different way of referring to derivative gear from another series and not in the Ready-Player-One sense where artifacts are unique items with no replications. Is this true?

Is this using the Ready-Player-One sectioning system in any way? Will at any point a character's Sci-Fi gear be nullified by entering a Fantasy zone or a character's spells be nullified by entering a Sci-Fi zone? Stuff like that?

The context of the contest seems interesting, but the roleplay seems to have initiated with Specters Of The Apocalypse already established. Would a non-clanned character being introduced by myself throw things too far out of whack or would that be valid? This seems largely to be a character driven roleplay and introducing a not-entirely-hostile character into the competition setting might get some good content.

I can answer this one at least. We are using 'artefacts' as a catch-all term for items of all rarities; I raised the same query as you when this was in the planning stages.

I have not read the book. I am going based on what was presented in the movie. In the movie artifacts are not really explained in a lot of detail. In the movie during the final battle there were multiple people wearing the MJOLNIR armor from Halo, that could have been ordinary gear like buying clothes at Walmart or they could have been an Artifact. I went with Artifact. The current equipment the Specters and the rest of the contestants are wearing/using are not Artifacts.

Some places the default setting would be yes. The contest takes place on a planet where everything goes but the default setting is overruled by the rules of the contest.

The Specters have been around at minimum six months.

While pretty much everything is a competition, due to the current situation it's in everyone's best interests to work together. Humanity being humanity they won't all work together. If your character is not clanned, that's cool but if he gets into trouble he won't have anyone he can call upon to get him out of it. Your avatar could pay people for their help or he could depend on the kindness of strangers.

This particular contest is a one off thing that won't see a conclusion, because the sponsor is SPOILERS.

► Initially made a name for himself on the racing circuit winning several high profile races. He raced regularly whether it be registered tournaments or backstreet races. Unfortunately for him there was a alot of cash to be made from betting on the races and a high profile clan approached him to throw a race. Flat out refusing Ataxia found himself on the receiving end of a rocket shell during the race he was asked to throw. With all his cash gone and his prized possessions gone, he had to drag himself back up the long way.

► The easy option would have been to get back into racing but racing was all he knew, he would never stand a chance if he ever crossed paths with the clan again. As such he began to fight in the battle arenas. For a long time he found himself getting fragged with little to show for it, but if you die enough times you start to learn things...and learn he did. He began to rack up a few kills here and there before starting to win a couple of arena battles. Word of his name started to spread as a possible up and comer, focussing more on him because of his racing past rather than his burgeoning talent in battle. It was at this point he was contacted by the Spectres of the Apocalypse.

@CaptainSully I briefly glanced through your artifacts, for the moment I am going to rule on two of them.

Jason Voorhees is rejected. All companions must be an animal, it can be mechanical, organic, or a cyborg. Think of it like the dog from Fallout it doesn't count as a companion when you are trying to do use the Lone Wanderer perk.

The Omni-Shield is approved, because it is nothing more than one particular function of the Omni-Tool which my character already has. You don't have to limit it to just the Shield.

Once I have more time to go over it better I will post again and let you know.

Godzilla may eventually be involved but not as anyone's companion. As for the Moorwen answer is the same as the rest of your artifacts, check on it later.
