A quick question (answered)

Why?

I see no reason for Expanding Horizons to die. So why is it dead? Is there something I'm not seeing? Did a wave of trolls break in and spam everyone to death? Did a catastrophic event in one of the many stories destroy the universe? Did a bunch of noobs break the flow of the RP? Something else?

Discussion over EH by now is more or less beating a dead horse. People have said their piece, and the only thing now is to wait until Mahz implements the Star Wars idea (if it'll be implemented at all).

However, if you must know, inactivity killed the section. EH was popular at the start, but like most RPs on RPG, people tend to lose interest quickly and the player count started to plummet. Plus, it was hard to gauge the activity of those in charge (one had left the RP staff entirely), which made it harder for new people to join due to needing two staff members to approve their sheet, before it was bumped down to just one. By then, people started discussing what to do with Expanding Horizons as it was dying off, until the announcement of the Star Wars RP which essentially drove the final nail into the coffin. It's been dead since then.

To be more accurate. Most of the staff basically abandoned the project as soon as it started. The players were more or less left to fend for themselves when it came to everything In Character, no central plotline they could join, no secondary plotlines they could have fun with. A couple people started their own but in general people lost interest and dropped out.

It wasn't dead but it also wasn't the massive success that people had been hoping for. After a while some of the more active players still around formed a new staff team and got to work rebuilding it. Around this time a couple people got annoyed at seeing the Expanding Horizon's sub-forum still at the top of the main page and made a topic to complain about it. Eventually the site staff got called in it was decided that Mahz would "move" it to Casual as a single topic.

The new staff team for the game decided to wait for Mahz to move it before continuing anything, so things kind of went into hibernation for a bit. However as you can tell that move has yet to take place and it has been months since the decision was made. At this point it's less hibernation and more just dead.

What was decided was that EH would probably be moved to the main sections (possibly more than a single thread, possibly archived, which seems to be the only thing to do considering there's no drive to even maintain a single thread while the platform exists) while the section would be replaced with a star wars PW. That is what Mahz is needed for. That's what is simply not happening, nor is anything else relative to this section until the admin returns, which could range between tomorrow to a good six months more.
