A bright and bubbly personality is the best way to describe Astoria. The bright cheery blonde is always someone to have a smile on her face, pep in her step and a giggle in her voice. Some people accuse her of being fake happy but that’s not the case. She’s just genuinely happy. With her outlook on life being a positive one and being at school learning MAGIC, how can you not be happy?!

The eldest of 6 children and a 7th on the way, Astoria grew up with a loving mom, a kind father and a caring grandmother and it wasn’t until she received her letter at 11 that she was discovered to be a witch. Her parents, the open minded individuals they were ventured with the young girl to shop within the magical world. It should come as no surprise that they were all a bit baffled and her twin brother Aston confused why he couldn’t go to the same school as Astoria. In all fairness, her parents handled it well but it also helped that her mother was an interpersonal communication professor at Oxford University and her father was a popular lawyer within the town as well. So her brother understood why he couldn’t go and the family was introduced to the magic world.

This thrilled Astoria, as she was a ten second younger then Aston and always got the short end of the stick from her brother and now she had a leg up on him. And that began their playful banter with each other, and even in letters back and forth they showed the playfulness. There are a set of triplets, three girls and a boy with another baby boy on the way.

Once in Hogwarts, the girl took to the classes like a fish to water. Excited to find herself picking up a broom for the first time, it was a challenge but she was able to do it and as soon as she was allowed to fly, she was gone. It didn’t take long for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team to catch wind of her talents on a broom and she was recruited as a Chaser during her second year. It was hard but she loved playing as much as she loved school.

Her studies took her to new heights and she was able to develop her skills as a witch and her social skills. The blonde quickly became known throughout her house as being approachable, talkative and reliable and by her third year she was known throughout most of the houses that she was easy to get along with. She loved talking to people so it wasn’t uncommon to find her leaving her friends to sit with someone who was by themselves, houses didn’t matter and she didn’t care; she wanted to be friends with everyone. Despite her desire to be friends with everyone, she has about 6 close friends and people she was willing to rely upon but that’s okay, she liked it that way.

Now in her 6th year she has a chance to participate in the Tri-Wizard Tournament and the goblet is now choosing two representatives instead of one from each school. HOW EXCITING!!!

Wand

Spruce wood with a Dragon heartstring core 12 ¾" and Quite Bendy flexibility

Unskilled wandmakers call spruce a difficult wood, but in doing so they reveal their own ineptitude. It is quite true that it requires particular deftness to work with spruce, which produces wands that are ill-matched with cautious or nervous natures, and become positively dangerous in fumbling fingers. The spruce wand requires a firm hand, because it often appears to have its own ideas about what magic it ought to be called upon to produce. However, when a spruce wand meets its match - which, in my experience, is a bold spell-caster with a good sense of humour - it becomes a superb helper, intensely loyal to their owners and capable of producing particularly flamboyant and dramatic effects.


As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner. The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental.

“Most wands will be in the range of between nine and fourteen inches. While I have sold extremely short wands (eight inches and under) and very long wands (over fifteen inches), these are exceptionally rare. In the latter case, a physical peculiarity demanded the excessive wand length. However, abnormally short wands usually select those in whose character something is lacking, rather than because they are physically undersized (many small witches and wizards are chosen by longer wands).”

Personality
Skyler is considered the quiet, brooding type by most, and even within his group of friends he is not terribly talkative. This might have something to do with the fact that a majority of these so called friends aren't real. Skyler knows they follow him for two reasons: his family, and fear. While Skyler can't quite claim to be the most intelligent student of his year, he is the most dangerous. As head of the Dueling club and undefeated within, Skyler is known for his wandwork. While he is considered generally quiet, nobody considers him unfriendly, especially given the rumors that he is the reason there is no bullying within his year from any Slytherins. Nobody is quite sure how he will treat a true friend, as nobody has broken his shell, despite him generally being surrounded by almost rotating groups of admirers from Slytherin and other houses.

Background
The Grey family is quite famous in the wizarding world, though not much is actually known about it, except that they study alternative and ancient magic, supposedly having a vault of magical artifacts no other family can compare to. Most well known is the partly true story of Dorian Gray, Skyler's grandfather. He did, in fact, have a portrait of himself that aged while he remained young, but much of the rest of the novel is false. Dorian was supposedly a dark wizard, though no government ever brought him to justice, and nothing had ever been proven. Growing up, Skyler was immersed in a quiet world of magic, magic very different from what is taught at Hogwarts. Skyler grew up in a manor hidden away from the world, never wanting for anything, but not really ever knowing much about the world itself-until he went to Hogwarts.

At Hogwarts he was initially shy and quiet, but excited to be well received. The first two years he was like most students: fairly ordinary, though maybe a bit smarter than most. In his third year everything changed. Skyler joined the Dueling club and immediately challenged two of his friends. These two had been with him from almost day one, and they were also Slytherins. In a two on one duel Skyler publically humiliated them and walked away wordlessly. There had always been rumors within Slytherin they wanted to take advantage of the naive young Gray, rumors thought to be true from then on. That year was a remarkable change: Not only did everyone in his year know who he was, they mostly avoided him. Things changed for others too, as Slytherin third years that were bullies became more timid and became anti-social. In his fourth year there were no more bullies and people adapted to his new status. Finally, in his fifth year, things settled mostly, except for a few strange rumors about him. Skyler was constantly surrounded by admirers for his record, and puberty certaintly helped: Skyler turned out to be fairly attractive.
