After mulling it over, I see two possible outcomes.
Well three. I'll hit you guys up on Discord in a few minutes, after I figure out how to load it on the PC app. I even have rp memes. No joke a friend made a meme of the time I triggered his planeswalker spark in a crossover rp. I nearly beat him into an inch of his life in the process, but it was a good time. There's still a dent in the wall I slammed him into. Sorry, I'm getting on tangent, lemme get Discord loaded for the server, and I'll be right in.
//Notes: • Other | She may not look tough, but she can and will hit you right in the face with a wrench if you aren't careful.
//Paraphernalia: • Power Suit | A high tech suit of armor that acts as a defense for when Serene is operating directly in an environment. Though high-tech really just means its a glorified suit of armor, it can't fly, it can't fire missiles, it's just able to withstand some punishment, though she's working to improve it. The poor man's iron man suit, basically. It has a spot on the back for her to hold her magic staff when she needs it. If she uses the suit in battle.
Appearance Details ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
A young looking woman with green eyes, red hair, and vague freckles. She has an often calm looking demeanor, and some splash of oil can be found on occasion on her face. She has no tattoos or piercings, and has a slim figure. Her hair is usually tied back, to avoid it getting in the way of her work. Her primary attire tends to vary between a t-shirt and shorts, jeans, or a full body skinsuit that runs from neck nape to the soles of her feet. And on occasion, a lab coat. When it comes to combat, she tends to wear the skinsuit underneath whatever armor she has equipped.
Personality ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
Insightful. That's a safe word to describe Serene's approach to situations. She studies the world around her carefully, trying to take in as much information as she can, to then decide her next course of action. Of course, that's what she'd want in an ideal situation. But in an ever changing environment, she's irritable, nervous, prone to miscalculations that can, when she's not calm and collected, cause issues. However, she is studious, studying the Magitek arts to better herself as a technopath, while also studying the sciences, to try and blend the two. Even if utterly clueless that she's not actually magical in the slightest.
She can come across as short, even rude, but give her a task, and Serene will work hard at it, in order to do good. She has a dream, to leave the world a better place then when she came into it, to make it better one step at a time. She considers life sacred, and will stand up for those who are downtrodden. She swore a promise to do good, and be a hero like her father, and by God, she's going to do as much "magic" as it takes to help others. Or get her ass handed to her trying. Tenacity can be a hell of a drug.
Character Synopsis ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
A young orphan with a lot to prove. The daughter of a now deceased hero who turned to science before his untimely death when she was fifteen, the young Serene kept going to make her father proud. Her powers first properly manifested during middle school, and got her called a witch by her classmates, and for good reason, when you accidentally make your teacher's projector explode, people are bound to give you a weird look. However, her father, Professor Drake, quickly realized her powers over technology, and took the needed steps to first show her that it was okay to be "magical", and also developed devices to help her restrain and channel her power properly. If not for his death when Serene was fifteen, its quite likely he would have gone further and found her a proper tutor in the Magitek arts. If not for the fact that in fact, it wasn't magic, but merely her father misidentifying her powers as magic based, which, given how young she was...yeah.
But with her father dead, and already living with her grandmother, a being implied to be either the avatar of a goddess, or just a really scary lady back in her day, the young Serene kept going forward with her studies. Since she didn't have anyone to teach her how to use her magic, she taught herself, with more than a few trips to the town police station from experiments gone wrong(since, y'know, she's thinking she's doing magic, and thus is causing problems). Like the time her first robot creation went amok and trashed her school, to the time she caused a minor power outage in her area when trying to...let's just say she was trying to summon a machine god using false directions, and the portal didn't work, mainly because let's face it, its not magic she's doing, and she's not summoning a machine god, she's being pranked by someone in China, apparently. The point is, she taught herself how to use her "magic", and then turned her love for mechanics into a college path. With the money left over from her father's time as a presumed government agent(given the theory her mother was someone her father met on one of his many adventures), and her own grandmother's connections, she was able to attend University in Baltimore Maryland. She actually got in early, and sped through the classes, using her sheer determination, that often cost her social chances, sleep, and probably sanity. But she got it done, and at the age of twenty, was out, with proof of her skill in mechanics. It was then that she received a key to a storage unit, where the last of her father's gifts to her were found, along with his countless drawings and schematics for plans that had never been done. A power suit, and a magic staff he'd found somewhere in the orient. The former she needed to retool a bit to fit her, and the latter, well, she's yet to figure it out, but the staff apparently had connections to a cult of technomancers who were wiped out centuries prior.
With the blessing of her grandmother, Serene decided to head west, but not before visiting her father's gravesite, making the good Professor a vow, to make him proud, and honor his memory. Why west? Simple, in her years studying the dark arts and her internet browsing, she'd learned of a city prime for her skills as a magitek practicer, and ripe for heroism. Oh foolish youth, and their headstrongness, especially when operating under the misunderstanding that her powers were drawn from magic, instead of the reality.. Traveling west in a truck she'd bought from craig's list, carrying all she owned, she got pulled over a few times, but always seemed to get out of trouble, and eventually, made her way to Santa Celia. Where she promptly ended up looking for anyone who might need her help. Sure, she's new in town, has barely more than a hundred bucks to her name, a suspicious white van, a suit of high tech glorified armor, parts of a "god", and an useless magic staff, but the girl's got spark, and a lot of brains. And a lot of shit to prove as the kid of an ex-hero. Hopefully no one flips out at her being able to use "magic" to control technology, aye?
In all seriousness, she's gonna be in for a trip when she finds out she's been operating under the assumption she's magical. Oh brother, eighth grade syndrome is a hell of a drug, eh?
Abilities & Skills ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
//Abiliites:
Superhuman Ability | Technokinesis
Technokinesis is the ability to control technology, either through electrical impulses, or electrical currents usually. While it can, and has been confused with magically controlling technology, technokinesis is, in fact, not magical in the slightest. It is based almost entirely in one's will power, aka, the mind. While yes, Serene has been operating under the assumption she has magical powers over technology, which is wrong, she's still alright skilled through her false research. As honestly, sure, she's yelling stuff that isn't needed, but its helping her concentrate her thoughts. She can currently control technology that she is intimately familiar with, but it must be in contact with her, or within a one meter radius. Anything else she has to be in contact with, and the more unfamiliar or complex it is, the more difficult it is for her to control it. She can also use her powers to assemble or combine pieces of technology to make something new, that isn't necessarily going to work.
She can also use her powers to "summon," in the form of cobbling together a portal, powering it, and then activating it to call out pieces of what she's dubbed the "Broken God," due to how it comes through in pieces. The reality is that it's neither a god, nor broken. It's just her extreme case of eighth grade syndrome making her overlook how suspicious the parts look. It's gonna be one hell of a surprise when she gets the instruction manual, and realizes some rich guy in China is now short a combat mech. Point is, whatever pops out of that portal is, currently at least, harmless, and not magical seemingly.
Limitation(s) | Technokinesis has several outstanding limitations, even when it has an edge over magical means of controlling technology. It won't work if the machine is too broken, at least not to control it. An advanced enough technopath could repair machinery, but its something outside of Serene's range. The more complex or larger the object is, the more difficult it is to control, requiring more and more focus and prep time, which can be taken advantage of. Additionally, if too old, unfamiliar, rusted, or made of a material that prevents manipulation, it'll fail. For example, if it lacks electrical circuits, or ways to move a current.
Weakness(es) | Whether willing or not, Serene has been deluded into thinking she's magical. This means she has to rely on "casting" times and other antics to use her powers. A person could, then, get the drop on her, and proper jamming can stop her. Atop that, if the machine is too complex, or lacks electrical components, will deprive her of effectiveness. Also just leaving her somewhere without technology will cripple her. Not that it'll be super effective in a setting like the city, but yeah, its an option.
Special Equipment | Power Suit Gifted to her from her father, the Power Suit is a piece of equipment rusty brown in color, with a pair of big shoulder pad like areas, that act to defuse heat from the system. The suit is made of an unspecified mix of materials, for sure, Kevlar and titanium were involved, along with some sort of material that allows one to bend safely. While lacking any sort of long range armaments, the suit, when provided with a sufficient amount of power, increases the user's strength, allowing them to lift up to ten times their body weight, but not much else. Sure, it can withstand common gunfire, sans equipment designed to penetrate reinforced armor, but its just that, armor. It has its issues. Notes: Hard to figure out what exactly to make it out of, but advice is welcome. It looks like the Dark Suit minus the arm cannon.
Limitation(s) | While yes, when provided with power, the suit boosts the users strength, it doesn't boost speed, as well, its a glorified suit of knight armor, and knights were not known for high speed. It also turns into a pressure cooker when exposed to enough heat, and well, it also is perfect for magic to bounce around inside and cause problems. It can't fire long range, and while yes, the user can lift objects ten times their weight, it can't sustain this for long, before shutting down and having to reboot, which can be...lethal. It also can't fly.
Weakness(es) | Its weak to magic of course, and to other technopaths, and to most forms of attacks beyond common gunfire. It also can't stop the kickback from an impact. And if holding a weapon with recoil, it won't stop that recoil effect. It's a poor man's iron man suit, sadly. But it could be improved, eventually.
//Skills:
Machine Prowess | She knows her way around machinery quite well, as well as technology in general. While she's by no means intuitive with machinery to the point of having powers in that manner, she knows how to do what she needs to do, usually.
Example Hacking | Hacking really just means splicing lines of code together, but it can also refer to someone exploiting systems, and trying to gain access where they're not wanted. Serene knows enough hacking to get herself access to people's wi-fi in an emergency, but basically, she knows a lot of coding. She mostly codes in the known languages.
Example Quick-Learner | She learns quickly, basically, give her a challenge, and she'll probably have a solution in hours, longer the more complex the situation. And if she encounters future situations like ones she's already know, she'll be able to handle it faster and faster compared to a normal person.
Supporting Cast ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
None applicable, as her grandmother's on the east coast, and her father is dead. And we don't talk about her mother. Only child life, eh?
I was nervous throughout, due to how I'm still learning different types of CSs. I linked Junk the wiki pages I used for inspiration. If you're curious about the Power Suit design, eh, assume it looks like the Dark Suit from Metroid Prime 2, minus the cannon. It looks just like a low budget heroes suit.
I won't be able to make edits till late afternoon tomorrow. As morning classes. But looking forward to feedback!
@AWACS Originally we were waiting for Hillan to respond in the Discord chat but I'm going to make an executive decision and accept you as neither Junk or I had any issues with your latest sheet. Feel free to move Andrea to the roster tab and start posting in the IC.
Since I spoke with Junk(and by extension yourself Lord Wraith) over Discord, I should have the edits to my next draft hopefully done in the next hour or two. Just got home from a NASA press conference, so yeah. Fun times.

I'll make an IC post in the next few hours, I just have to go through all my notifs here, and then check my off site stuff, then assuming I don't get lazy and go watch Netflix or Youtube, I'll get to work on the first IC. Not sure how I'll format it, but I'll try my best to make it good. Thanks for the accepteance!
