So let me just lay out the quick and dirty of my idea:
We all start off as level 1 Wizards.
We're all part of a sort of organization/college to learn about magic and stuff.
The plot largely consist of sending the players off to different ruins or events to study stuff, figure out what sort of magical nonsense is going on, or maybe something that'll help the academy.
It's pretty bare bones right now. As far legal stuff, core, UA, Elemental Evil, and Xanathar's guide is fine.
Only one character per player. Players may have prior relationships to one another if they feel like it.
Regardless of your origins or family, you all start out with the same basic kit that I'll figure out later.
Homebrew will be highly scrutinized. Well not really. Basically I reserve the right to deny homebrew without really reading too much about your reasoning or justification. I also reserve the right to utilize your homebrew even if you cannot benefit from it. Don't be an ass about it and your chances go up pretty well.
Lastly while your first level has to be wizard, feel free to multiclass out of it at any point when you level up. So long as you meet the requirements for the multiclass and have an IC reason for it, I'll accept it.
So for now I mainly wanna gauge interests and maybe get some ideas or suggestions. I'm looking for 4-5 players at most, ideally ones that will be somewhat active, but I can easily recruit and replace if we get droppers.
