"Hah, now, look at this fine catch of ours, lads!"
For someone whom had been a princess—the crown princess, no less—Kalina seemed to have quite the streak of bad luck. Her world had been stolen from Kalina, who could do naught but watch the suffering of those the crown once cared for. The Ciesinska dynasty had failed to protect its people, yet their failures had been forced upon the citizenry; the new regime demanding everyone to bend the knee to the new prince and his army. Those that refused his right to rule were sheep to the slaughter, and whilst Kalina had tried intervening, her complaints had fallen on deaf ears.
She had become, after all, just another tool to further the puppet prince's gains, but no more! With the assistance of a treasured friend—one of the many royal maids—Kalina had been able to make her grand escape into the countryside, promising her dear friend that she would return one day to reclaim the throne.
It was a shame, however, that such promises were on the verge of being unbroken.
"Back, heathen! Back, I say!" Kalina announced, albeit angrily. Her karabela saber waved within the wind, slicing at any bandit that dared to approach, yet the princess had begun to grow weary. The tunic she wore had already begun to seep red with blood, but all Kalina could do is keep her free hand over the nasty cut on her side in a desperate struggle to keep pressure on the gash. Still, it was only a matter of time before her body would give in, leaving Kalina helpless to whatever these bandits intended to do to her.
Please... someone, help... Kalina prayed, but who would be stupid enough to raise a hand to the prince's thugs?
