I'm developing an idea for a Digimon RP at the moment. The setting is within Cyber Sleuth's universe, complete with EDEN and all the events that took place within the game, except a side story involving a different group of hackers/Digimon tamers. Kind of like Hacker's Memory's premise, except... well, even more of a side story. This isn't an AU, but depending on how it's played the events of either game could be altered depending on if your party interacts/participates in the plot of one of the other games by running into characters from them. I won't railroad the party by preventing you from interacting with canon storyline events, as I believe in complete player freedom for that kind of stuff. As long as it makes sense for your character, do whatever.
Since it's Cyber Sleuth, there will of course be mysteries to be solved and evil to be stopped (or not solved, or evil not stopped, depending on what you want to do). I'll be acting as a DM, or as much a DM as I could be for a casual RP. So I'll handle controlling the NPCs, villains, and general flow of things will go when players interact with the environment (leaving things like any potential PVP or player on player action up to them, of course), as well as how the world is changed by the actions of the players.
While the video games give you a party of three at a time in battle that can be switched out, we'll be doing Digimon partners more classic in this: one partner per person, to avoid clutter in combat and dialogue.
My ideal group is 4 players. I'd like to not go higher than that, to keep game flow as smooth as can be.
The RP will have a heavy theme involving secrets, and as part of that each approved player will PM me a single plot-important secret that they'd be hiding from the rest of the party. IC no one else would know of anyone else's major secret, but everyone must have one. Since everyone hides secrets from people, it'd go without saying that this secret in particular would be a significant one that your character wouldn't want getting out even to the rest of the party. Or potentially even their own Digimon partner, if it's bad enough. We could go the entire game with no one figuring any of it out, but this would be each player's chance to help contribute to the plot, as for each secret there will be something put into the RP to act as a clue, or an enemy if it involves a grudge of sorts. Something to keep in mind while you make your characters.
That's about all I have to say for now regarding this. If you have any questions feel free to ask here or PM me, otherwise I'll be waiting until I can gather four players together to start the OOC!
