The Sons of Mars are an independent ally of Caesar's Legion. Once known colloquially in the Mojave Wasteland as the feared Vault 34 Boomers of Nellis Air Force Base, the prophesied arrival of the Courier, the subsequent raising of the Lady in the Water (a B-29 superfortress), and, lastly, their significant participation in the Second Battle of Hoover Dam on the side of the Bull circa 2281, heavily influenced the culturally isolated warlike tribe that previously had no contact with the outside world beyond sporadic artillery shellings of savages. William Harrell rose to power not long after the sickly elders, and with it their way of thinking, passed quietly away into the night, never to return. Under his benevolent dictatorship the Boomers quickly became a prosperous microcosm of Caesar's Legion, growing wealthy through the regular export of local foodstuffs. Home to a population of 615, the Sons of Mars possess combat armor, high quality weapons, military robots, trucks, eight howitzers, and a bomber.
Name: The Cult of Vulcan Flag: Population: 200 Territory: HQ in the lucky 38 and Flagstaff History: A tribe long since destroyed and absorbed into the legion was the beginning of the cult of vulcan. The cult of vulcan began when the one known as Tech-Priest Arsenal was granted the ability to scavenge the territory for unknown reason a medical doc. Eventually succeeding and repairing it as best he could for the mighty Caesar. He was then granted the ability to continue his work at repairing and scavenging for these items. He was promoted to the rank of centurion and granted men to assist him, they became known as the cult of vulcan men who worshipped the god of repair and forging. When new vegas was conqueror they obtained so many secrets to the old world and were kept hidden inside the lucky 38. Government: None Notable People: Tech-Priest Aresonal Economy: None Culture: None Religion: While some within the legion praise Mars such as the Legate, the cult worship Vulcan. Vulcan the god of forging and smith has granted them much power. Especially under the watchful eye of ceaser they have defeated countless securitrons and other robots that have been found in the waste and have slowly worked to rebuild them in a new image. Technology: The cult has access to the entire Arsenal of the legion being both the blacksmith and scientists. However they are only allowed limited use of it from the power weapons to some better rifles. However every weapon they have is maintained in it’s best quality due to their countless hours scrapping and repairing their weapons. Military: While the cult is part of the legion each of their men can fight and are of the veteran class as they have ventured alone into the wastes to discover brand new articles of weaponry not since seen before. The weapons they wield however are unlikely what is normally in the legion they tend to use laser or plasma weaponry when out in the field and powerfists for close combat.
Rough draft of my faction sheet. The numbers are definitely up for adjustment if need be!
Name: Provisional Southern California Republic
Flag: (optional).
Population: (real world population of territory divided by twenty).
Territory: Much of Southern California, including the Boneyard, the Hub, Junktown, and Dayglow.
History: The Provisional Southern California Republic was consolidated in its present form by General Adam Moore, the younger brother of the late Colonel Moore. By all accounts, the bespectacled and slight man should never have reached the heights he has. But dire times make unlikely leaders, and the loss of many of the nation’s military leaders to the Mojave, including his older sister, gave him the tragic opportunity to excel.
Adam was a Lieutenant Colonel of the NCR Logistics Corps stationed in Camp McCarran. After much of the head brass died leading from the front at the Second Battle of Hoover Dam and the battle was lost, chaos erupted as the power vacuum in the NCR military leadership opened up. The Legion wanted to quickly seize the Mojave before the NCR could rally, so there was no rest after their victory at Hoover Dam. Adam became instrumental in organizing a fighting retreat across the Mojave from Camp McCarran to the Long 15. Despite news arriving of his sister’s death in the middle of the process, his authoritative grip over the organization of the retreat never slackened. He was heavily merited for his “determined organizational skills in the face of immense pressure and loss”. It was odd for a logistics colonel to gain a reputation amongst the brass and the rank and file, but his careful meeting of the soldiers’ needs and a bit of politically conscious self name dropping secured the base of his later rise to power. The men spoke fondly of their “little administrator” and “four eyed angel” that kept them fed and lifted them from the Mojave. The true test began after the nuking of Long 15 annihilated another score of troopers, officers, and critical supplies. Adam survived, but broke an arm and some ribs from falling after the shock wave knocked his command center down. Nevertheless, the now ambiguously ranked younger Moore became even more essential to the operation. He initially stuck to solving supply issues and continuing the retreat across the now blasted Long 15, but his organization of search and rescue efforts won him the command, loyalty, and admiration of many lower ranking officers and soldiers. To the woe of the surviving brass separated from his section of the army, the colonel was rapidly becoming a General.
Adam was ultimately able to get much of the part of the NCR Army that fell under his command out of the the Long 15. Being the logistics wizard he was, Adam was then able to keep munitions and rations sufficient enough to keep the men combat effective despite the state of general chaos unfolding on the NCR’s eastern boundaries. His men fought another fighting retreat to Shady Sands as the Legion began catching up and Adam’s army ultimately helped to blunt the Legion’s knife towards Shady Sands. For his actions, he was hastily promoted to Major General and whisked off to the south to defend Southern California. The Legion was getting bold and attempting to cross the Colorado in multiple places. Congress was also paranoid of keeping rising stars like him in Shady Sands despite his support for them. His army of veterans went south and aided the local forces in repelling the Legion there. He would spend the next years fighting the Legion and consolidating his power in Southern California. The capital of his power is the Boneyard. One of Congress’ last acts was to make Adam Moore a full General, recognizing his personal loyalty to democracy despite his reformist bend and the dictatorial realities of the situation. The Boneyard, the Hub, Dayglow and Junktown all breathe a little easier knowing their ruler is a mostly benevolent one who seeks to restore the Republic, but the “little administrator” is still challenged at every turn. Assuming authority over the most populated area of the NCR has been a trial, and his control is tenuous at best. Adam has experimented with local elections for somewhat consequential positions and used his skills with logistics to attempt to cow the bureaucracy, but has faced mixed results. Still, the Provisional Southern California Republic has used its base of Mojave veterans and large recruiting pool to build a competent and professional army. Through Adam’s leadership, the provisional republic has become a pillar of NCR resistance the Legion and is well posed to restore the Republic.
Government:
Notable People: General Adam Moore The Moore family was of humble beginnings. The father Thomas Moore was a special agent for the NCR, but died when his family was young. The widowed Joan Moore supported Cassandra and Adam by selling liquor and securing a pension from her late husband’s superiors. Adam and his sister got along well as children, with Cassandra always being there to defend her shy little brother from bullies. Cassandra’s tomboyish and abrasive personality often left her with only her little brother for company anyways. Feeling the pull of her father’s footsteps and a desire to help her family, Cassandra would later leave them to join the military at sixteen. This decision sent her mother into depressive episodes, but once the checks started arriving she began to come to terms with her daughter’s career. The 13 year old Adam who had relied on his sister took it with mixed feelings. He would miss her, but he knew that she was doing right. The experience taught him the independence and perseverance he would use to finish school with top scores. With monetary help from his sister, he decided to enroll in the military academy when he was older. He hoped to lead a combat brigade in the future, but one look at his skinny physique and bookish excellence sent him to the Logistics Corps in the Mojave.

~1,500 Mojave and Shady Sands veterans. These men have braved the Mojave and a new nuclear wasteland across the Long 15. They’re some of the best and fiercely loyal to Adam Moore.
~300 Heavy Troopers equipped with primarily salvaged power armor, but they also have scoured the NCR for some proper suits to be worn by officers.
