Hey there, hi there!
When I was six, my dad changed the stories he would read my sister and I before dreamtime to a sort of evolving freeform roleplay. We were explorers, we were deep sea divers, we tamed dragons and flew over voids of stars. It captured my imagination and when he stopped I sought out and found my own paths to keep telling and exploring my own stories with likeminded writers. First apps and text clients, then forums and even as my life got busier I still managed to keep that window open until about midway last year when finishing off my course put the crunch on just about everything else. New year, new rules - and while I'm still busy, I simply can't do without my roleplay fix.
Why am I here and not one of, uh... dozens of other places? A little bird whispered the url in my ear and gave me a little push. He knows who he is.
What am I looking for? One (count 'em, one!) special story, neither drenched in thousand-word posts nor requiring me to be online constantly throughout the day to respond. Because I won't be, let's face it. Genre is less critical since I've written and loved lots of different things over the years, but I guess... a flare of the joy of writing or trying to do something different? That would definitely catch my eye. Give me androids learning to become human, or great-sailed skiffs soaring on the winds of magick above a bottomless sea! Give me the mysterious house at the end of the street where the cracks in the pavement whisper secrets if you know how to listen, but sometimes take a bite out of the sweet-blooded. Give me lords of myth trapped in modern mundanity, trying to survive on the crumbs of legend left behind.
Or just give me a smile and a wave and tell me how your day is treating you?
I like to do many things in the nooks and crannies of my week that I call spare time. Some of them are with other people, some of them I can safely ignore if I want to. I haven't explored space or gone scuba diving yet, but there's still time.
