@Mag Lev

Alright, so do you have anything regarding the Culture of the Orisiri?

The Orisiri are a warlike and nomadic people who mostly reside in the Aouril Plains which act as a southern border for both the Imperium and Eroammir. Few people know exactly how many tribes currently reside in the plains or how many have taken residence in Keirous either. What is known, however, is that the Orisiri have existed in a 'war' for nearly the entire of the Eras, a total of near two thousand years. Mostly they are known for fighting each other for land rights or over food however they'll often offer brief truces between each other if outsiders enter their lands. They strike fast, hard, and often leave the enemy forces crippled or severely injured so as to crush them at a later time.

However, what most of the outside world does not understand of the Orisiri is that they rarely will ever wipe out another tribe. Rather, each battle, whether it results in a win or loss, is recognized as an offering to their Gods. They believe that deaths are necessary to bring food to the Plains, to cause growth among their people, and to keep away illness or plague. To kill non-combatants would anger their Gods. As such, it has become common practice among the tribes in Keirous to sacrifice people to their Gods rather than fight each other, a practice that has been slowly leeching into life in the Plains.

A hierarchy exists in the Orisiri which mark their rank in the tribe. Blue markings are reserved only for their Elders, those who have lived long enough to no longer fight and deemed capable of leading the tribe. Green markings belong to magic users, often refereed to as Shamans despite the lack of typical shamanistic magic. White markings are for the hunters and warriors of the tribes and will often be mixed with red to denote a leader among them. Women and children are unmarked and deemed incapable of combat as such they are only ever seen at the tribe's base. It should be noted, however, that there is a tribe which has risen in recent years that has been accepted orphaned Orisiri from the Imperium and Eroammir's raids on the Plains.

Outside of this, the individual cultures of the tribes will vary and, since there are upwards of 20 tribes, I think it'd be a bit much to detail each of them. Each tribe numbers at least 3,000 and the number of Orisiri in Keirous is believed to be upwards of 100k.

As a note for everyone: I'll work on more information of areas such as Aouril Plains, Ghenna Mountains, Orimmir Mountains, etc. over the next two days I am off from work. I'll likely touch upon religion in the time and some smaller details such as cities. If you'd like to contribute either from lore you are creating yourself or lore you wish to create, feel free to PM or message me on discord at: Mag Lev#3871

The work you've put into the lore here is really impressive. I've been looking for a good fantasy RP, and this has just seized my interest. Expect a CS sooner rather than later.

@Mag LevGot a question before I start? Where do Dwarves hail from?

The Elves believe the Dwarves have lived on Ioria for as long as they have though, unlike them, their development was mostly restricted to the Ghenna Mountains and its many valleys. Some dwarves believe that their ancestors had, in fact, come from some land lost to time and had travelled to Ioria through a massive cave system and arrived at the Mountains. Those few dwarves who still follow the Old Ways believe they were molded from stone and mud though fewer and fewer believe in the Old Ways following the rise of the Sacred Flame in the mountains.

I'd like to ask about the story. So from the intro, it seems like most, if not all, of our characters will have been inducted into the Order as a last resort. I get that the Order has historically been a neutral, semi-religious organization and wants to make headway into Weirn. How do you see the plot moving forward? What exactly is it our characters will be doing?

Most of the plot at this stage will be focused on the Order's development into Weirn. Weirn isn't an accepting land for the Order, particularly with the Kings seeing them as outsiders who may disrupt their order. However, various aspects of Weirn are in poor conditions. Villages far from the main cities are often beset with illness or raids from bandits. This is not to forget about the growing worries on the population of beasts in their lands, wargs and goblinoids becoming increasingly often in their forests. The characters will be free to seek out jobs in and outside of the Order itself in order to help the Order grow in this land. Their actions will determine how well this goes as well as influence the future of the plot. It should be noted, however, that I intend to at least bring characters through the three cities I have mentioned in the Places post and deploy various plot threads therein for characters to follow if they wish.

Question: Even though the star-fallen are supposed to be thought as Aetherials, are some more corrupt and dark-natured than others?

Ah, I had been anticipating a question like this. Well, sort of. This brings up the generally vague definition of 'Aetherial' that I had created for this world early on. For a bit of extrapolation, it is best that I state that most scholars prescribe to the belief that there is the world's Material realm, where the Races reside, and the Aetherial realm where magic originated from. In the Aetherial realm lives creatures which the scholars believe to consist of near pure Aether or are simply infused with Aether to empower their manipulation of it. From this came the belief that, in necromancy, one can summon an Aetherial with enough Aether, though of course this costs more than any being is able to obtain normally.

While the effects of such summoning have been negative, in most cases, it is believed that the 'Demons' summoned are simply Aetherials with ill will towards those of the Material realm. It is safe to say that, if Starfallen were Aetherials, then it is entirely possible they are borne from these 'Demons. However it is entirely possible that they are Aetherials which don't have such ill will. Though this is mostly thinking in the black-white logic that the Scholars established for the Aetherials when, in reality, they could vary in personality just as much as the other Races do.

Any basic character sheet? where would I post it for approval? I already have a character that I've been waiting to rough out that I use for DnD and I think this would really help me refine him a bit. also, could my character be a half breed, like a mix of elf and starfallen? Also is there any limitation of side effects for using a type of magic for too long or too strenuously

A sheet is posted in the Character tab's 0th post. As for halfbreed, yes that is allowed. And the effects of using magic and running out of one's reserves will result in the character feeling tired and the exhaustion growing should they continue to cast magic afterwards. Reserves are generally based on training with magic and various training methods to slowly increase the limit of one's reserves.

@The1Rolling1Boy As this sheet is I can't accept it. Normally I'm also not one to allow a sheet to be posted directly to the Character's section either until it is accepted. I've left my notes on why the sheet is denied below and allow you a chance at revisions. If it doesn't meet my requirements after, the sheet will be hidden form the tab.

Age: 20 is 20. There is no ish or question as to how old a person is in this world. In general, all races enter puberty around the average age humans do and finish around a similar time. The only true difference, when it comes to age, is how quickly they grow old and the signs of aging. Their ‘Prime Age’ is longer and often comes down more slowly so that the races which live longer have a scale up to match human averages.

Origin: Ioria is, in of itself, not a country. Ioria is made up of seven countries of which I have only mentioned three thus far. Eroammir, the Imperium, and Keirous are these three. There are smaller city states scattered throughout but these do not count towards ‘countries’. That aside, he would’ve had to originate and mostly live in one country as few places so willingly accept outsiders.
Personality: The only line here of issue is one mentioning immortality. Can let that slide however it should be clarified that no race is immortal.

History: This is where I’ve got the highest marks against the sheet. For one, it doesn’t meet the solid two paragraph requirement I have for it. Two, in Eroammir an Elf wandering around towns with no clear reason to be there would often result in many issues from the locals. Most locals in Eroammir consider Elves to be a national enemy and will often refuse them at any gates if they aren’t heavily armed. Three, it doesn’t mention where or how he learned cryomancy or even electromancy. Most towns don’t have access to knowledge on magic and, unless they’ve been to an academy, it is rare for a mage to learn anything but basic understandings of how magic works. Even in the Imperium, only those with money could afford a tutor to teach them magic and electromancy is rarely allowed to be taught. Four, the ending of his history makes it sound like he was still in Ioria which raises the questions of; when did he join the Order, why did they Order take him in, etc.?

Skills: There’s nothing here of combat related skills, at all. Considering there was no mention of the Order, he’d have to learn some kind of combat related skills due to the nature of needing it for self-protection.

Magic: This is my biggest gripe. Magic is not a primary weapon in the world if that is how you intended. Magic is, in fact, meant to be supplementary which is why the Order teaches it fighters how to use a sword and bow anyway. No mage would survive long if they relied entirely on their magic to fight. Once his reserves were up, even a few low level spells in cryomancy would push him towards passing out. There’s also no mention in his history, as I said, of how he learned his magical skills. Electromancy teachers are incredibly rare and it is rare anywhere outside of the Imperium to find anybody who can teach magic.

Got it. this was honestly thrown together and I'll work on it more. I'm sorry for the number of misunderstandings on my part. though I would like to say a few things if that is okay.
1. The mention of immortality was used as a joke in the sense to further so how cocky he really is
2. I did not intend for it to come off as him being a combat main. I used the mention of magic as more of a therapeutic kind of thing. I did mention that he would have learned it from his parents I think. Though don't quote me because of how bad my memory tends to be
with this being said I will go back and go over. Hopefully, this time ill have bettered the character and have a better understanding of what I'm getting myself into. Personally I'm still new two writing and if possible id love for more feedback and help on a writing standing point and not a roleplay and character stand point.
