The Arena Inbetween
A Short message from Leila Mayner:
I understand most people don't travel to other dimensions, and that the general experience can be...jarring for some. My agents, however, have gotten used to the random visitors that happen to come to our Arena. At first, we didn't know what to do with the people who would show up; we housed them at first. But then that didn't last long. Some visitors wanted to go home, and we didn't know what to do then. It took us a three months to figure out how to send someone back to their reality, and it took us even longer to realize that the place we resided in was more than a blank expanse.
The Arena came about thanks to a friend of mine, Charlotte, suggesting it. She was the one to figure out that the Inbetween could give us things. We thought the Arena into existence, and began to host Arena Royales. She was the one who found out that the Inbetween had rules, things that had to be adhered to. The Mirror Shards were how we found ourselves in the Inbetween, and it was our ticket out. The Shards however, were scattered across universes, so the only way we could collect enough to send all of us back to our home was through the people who came to the Inbetween. We would have to win them, or earn them fairly, otherwise the Inbetween would deem the Shard useless.
And thus the Arena Royales were born. This is, if anything, the only way we could find our way home. Currently, we have collected 35 shards. We still have a long way to go. Hopefully, the next Royale will bare more fruit.

The Setting:
The Arena is a squat little building that looks way bigger on the inside then on the outside. It's seperated into four different wings.
The North Wing: This is where you, the Traveler, will arrive at! The North wing isn’t very big, it’s all one tiny little room filled with Mirror Shards. (For more information on where your own Mirror shard is, please read till the end.) Once you enter the North Wing, someone will be there to address you and guide you through the process of becoming situated into the Arena Inbetween. The room looks normal, the Mirror Shards float absentmindedly in the air, and there are soft mattresses for people to land on in case they happen to come from a Mirror Shard high up in the air. The walls are cold steel, for your protection of course, and the floors are smooth granite. There’s a singular set of doors that serve as an exit out of the North Wing, and into the hallway. The Arena has no doors leading outside.
The East Wing: This is where you will find the Arena common rooms. Seeing how travelers will be staying for an undetermined amount of time until the Arena Royale ends, there are of course places for Travelers to relax and even talk with one another. It’s lavishly furnished, with chairs and sofas enough to seat everyone. There’s a warm fireplace, and banners showcasing the past winnings of former Travelers like yourselves.
The South Wing: Here you will find the Arena grounds, and the control room. Nothing really special. There's a dashboard for the workers, and a waiting room for Travelers. The waiting room is special, as it has one of The Arena Inbetween’s most unique features. The Showstopper is a machine that picks different quests, activities, and even fights for the Travelers! This is where you will find out what that days activity is, and we promise you an exciting Royale filled with many different events! The Arena grounds are nothing special, you can watch the events play out through a large window in the waiting room. The workers have a similar setup, a giant window lays in front of them just so they can see what they’re doing down below in the Arena Grounds.
The West Wing: This is where you will find all of the rooms and the dining area of the Arena Inbetween. The rooms are all simple, single occupant rooms. There’s space for clothing, and once you enter, you’ll find there are already clothing for you. The dining room is also furnished, and decorated. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all served at appropriate times, and a bell is rung to signal when it is time to dine.
The Inbetween is a blank white expanse of nothingness that stretches infinitely between universes. Anything can be brought into existence in the Inbetween if you think on it hard enough. The Inbetween is a vast ocean of possibilty.

Paradox is an international Agency headed by a Ms.Leila Mayner, bent on helping anyone with impossible problems. They are the ones who staff and created the Arena, and are also the sole reason the Arena Royale exists. Paradox's mission has changed from trying to help people, to trying to get people to give up their own mirror shards. Mirror Shards are very important to Paradox, as it is the one way they can return home. If they have enough of the Mirror shards, than they can bring every single one of their agents back to the reality they came from. The Arena Royale is just their way of collecting the shards from other travelers. Paradox needs a total of 34 shards, and currently hold 26. Travelers will have to go against the Agents of Paradox in he Arena Royale in order to escape the Inbetween.
Mirror Shards are the only way of getting to and from the Inbetween, and each Traveler will have one. The Mirror Shards are the now shattered remains of a once whole mirror that could see into other dimensions. It was shattered on accident by an agent of Paradox. Mirror Shards have the ability to transport anyone and anything to the Inbetween, the place where you will go now. The Inbetween is a vast expanse of nothingness stretched out between universes. The Mirror Shards used to be very dangerous to touch, and when the Mirror was first shattered its shards tore through the very fabric of the reality it had been residing in and landed itself in the Inbetween. Now the shards are being housed in the Arena's North wing, where Travelers from far and wide appear to participate in all kinds of Arena Royales.
The Mirror Shards have been spread out through dimensions, thus why some of you travelers will find you are with a shard, and why some of you are without one. Reaching the Inbetween is difficult to do on your own, and it's not advised that you try by yourself. Mirror shards are the only way to get to the Inbetween currently, and one cannot enter the Arena without a mirror shard. So, if you find yourself in the Inbetween of your own voltion, do not expect to be able to partcipate in the Arena royale.
Rules and Regulations:
- No Bullying or Harassment of any kind, this includes taunts or jeers at your fellow Travelers. If you have an issue with someone or myself, then please make it private, keep that stuff out of here.
- When it comes to characters, you have three chances to get things right with it if it doesn’t go through the first time. After that, don’t argue with me about it. I can help you tweak things along the way, but if it just ain’t working out, than it ain’t happening.
- No instant killing characters. If you’re character is like, a God or something, then please restrain yourself. The story has to go on, I promise there will be enough chances for you to go “My OC can beat up your OC.”
- Your character can be anything in this game, a robot, an elf, a fire breathing dragon, a talking dog, or even just a sentient rock. No making fun of other people’s characters. Criticism is fine, and pointing out things in backstories that may be iffy is justified. But just going “Ha, that’s such a stupid idea for a character” is not tolerated here. The Arena Inbetween celebrates creativity, and you will respect that.
- No Racist, Homophobic, or otherwise bigoted remarks about groups of people. Take that shit to Reddit.
- No destroying random parts of the Arena in story. Please don’t go “And then they destroyed the whole place, the end.” As I said, the story has to go on. And having a character just randomly nuke somewhere for no reason other than “Because they can” isn’t going to fly.
