Welcome sisters to Castle Bloodrose, this will be your home from now on.
@MeiyukiDeserves most of the credit for the lore of this world.
In the beginning there was darkness, stone, and Ice. All was silence and still, but for the great dragons. Then came Fire, and with fire came life. Eventually man opened his eyes to the blue sky for the first time. The first flame is long forgotten, Gods and nations have risen and fallen as the sands of time continue to drip. It was said once, long ago in words no one remembers today that Witches and Hunters alike spring up from that first bright blaze. Witches represent the darker nature of fire, destruction, pain, and torment. Hunters take on its potential for light, but both are cut from the same cloth.
Today hunters hunt witches, and witches practise black and dangerous magics. Castle Bloodrose stands nestled in a mountain shadowing a few small towns. Home to some of the most Dangerous witches in the land. Rumors of its existence has been floating around for hundreds of years. Hunters gather even now in the shadow of that great mountain, For the rumors have never been verified. Those who dared ventured into the forest that surrounds the mountain often never come back. Those lucky few who do return are never the same...but not once could they say they found the castle. Three years ago though that changed...after multiple massive earthquakes and a massive storm never before seen wrecked havoc upon the land surrounding the castle and the towns around it for a few hours. As quick as it appeared, it vanished just as fast.
While fell beast and unholy creatures still pop up often. Witch sightings have suddenly grown almost non existent. Since that day. People grow uneasy as if this doesn’t bode well for the surrounding lands. As if it is a calm before a storm.
As for the castle, It still exist...the witches still live there, learning their craft. However, the original Matron of the castle, Medusa Bloodrose disappeared after what sounded like a massive battle under the castle. Parts of the castle collapsed, but the path to below was sealed by an incredibly powerful barrier. Once the battle was done, the barrier vanished on it’s own.
Not one person in the coven could figure out what exactly happened. The new Matron, Alexina Broadchurch was quite different from her predecessor. More focused on keeping the castle and it’s occupants to themselves while focusing them on mastering their crafts...
Not all is as it seems though. This is not a story of Good versus Evil, or Light against Dark. This is about Fire and Ice. Will hunters and witches alike be able to put aside old hate, old blood debts, to stand against what is coming? Or will the Flame die and return the world to Ice once again?
