Okay, this in an idea that I have been wanting to post, but haven't been sure whether it would be too many roleplays for me or not. I've decided to go ahead and do it. Basically, the plot is that there are a whole bunch of unique individuals in a certain city who basically possess the spirit of a mythological or fantastical creature. That's creature, not being. That means that any humanoid races are not accepted. For example, no one could have an elf spirit or a lizard man spirit or anything. Instead, they'd have like, maybe a mimic, or a gryphon, or a troll or something like that. This spirit would manifest as an aura, giving them powers similar to the beast. Only those who possess these spirits can see the spirits of each other. (Possibility of creating a way for normal humans to see them through the use of some sort of technological device). Everyone who has one of these beast spirits doesn't necessarily know it right away. Each spirit manifests itself in a different way. So, one person might manifest right after they are born, while another may undergo a traumatic event that triggers it, or a third person might be trigger it after a certain life change, such as having a baby or something. That part is largely up to the player, as long as I approve it.
I am encouraging people to be creative with their selections, no need to stick to the same old creatures that everyone uses. For example, while phoenixes are really neat, they are also a fairly common choice. Furthermore, there are no undead spirits, as you can't have a spirit of something that is dead. If I get enough interest in this, I'll detail a list of creatures that are not accepted. If it isn't on the list and it's a fantasy creature, you'll probably (not definitely, but probably) be allowed to do it. The plot of the story is something I'll work out if I get some interest. So then, any takers? ^_^
