I like to say that has a gamer, I suck at shooters But I think it would be interesting to cross-match games, like having a Ghost from COD in Middle-Earth or Legolas in the SW:TOR! :D

Personally I think a mix of professions and personalities would be awesome. For instance, my character would primarily be a techie/hacker/engineer archetype, putting him in the "support" role IG. But when it comes to shooting, engaging head-on, he'd much rather let someone built for that, while he struck from the shadows, so to speak.

In the novel there would be some areas of the Oasis that limited what equipment you could use. Items were broadly categorised into either magic or technology, so some areas only allowed magic equipment while others only allowed technology; there were also unlimited areas where anything could be use and then safe areas where everything was locked down.

Personally I was going to be awkward and make a melee focused character wherever possible.

I'd like to see a mix though; some combat, some racing, some flying. It depends on what kind of competition this is, but I'd hope to see a varied mix of challenges.

@Drippy easily. One person designated as “general” for each side with everyone acting as infantry etc. The non-generals receive instructions that they have to follow. For the general it’d look like a tabletop game while the troops would experience it like an FPS.

@King Cosmos it’ll be a lot like the RPO movie. Racing, melee and ranged combat, aerial and space combat and then some more unique things like DDR style dance offs and survival horror experiences.

There's a game exactly like this that I've forgotten the name of. Most players are in a third person perspective, spawning in as whatever classes are available and trying to assault the other team's base, while one player in playing an RTS, building the base, gathering resources and researching upgrades and new classes for the others.

That means no Dorito or Mountain Dew avatars either.
