@Thinslayer Unfortunately, something cropped up that I need to take care of. Looks like I won't be able to partake in the RP after all :/

"The year is 3100"
"Your character must be born after 1/1/3100"

Its just looks like a goofy mistake of sorts. :P

I feel ya, the way it is worded is a little bit of a throw off. To me after I reread it, the cut off date for age would be any year after said point so that way your not over whatever the current date is according to Thinslayer. Now if he gave us the date in the story we are starting on it would make more since so we could approximate age correctly.

Also I think the current year was a typo/miatake.

Let's take a moment and have things, midlife in this story for humans would be around 60, so the age of retirement could be around say, 80ish years old. As long as the age is between the age 9f consent [making a guess that might be in the 20s because of life span] age might be between say 25 to 70.

If it helps, I'll establish the current date as Midsummer's Day, June 21st, 3100.

Okay that conflicks with the born after date. Did you perhaps mean 'Before' not 'after'?

Born after 1/1/3100 means...
* You were born 3/5/3120
* You were born 10/2/3101
* You were born 1/1/3200

You could select any birthdate that isn't earlier than 1/1/3100.

So then we can make today's date 6/21/3150 or something. As long as it's in that general century, it doesn't matter a whole lot.

Okay the only reason I said anything is because you said the current time is 3100 but your asking them to make DoB AFTER 3100 which would mean that our character's haven't even been born yet according to the current date in the story thus far.

@Darkwatck01

Exactly why I thought it was funny. :P
We'd have to be, at most, almost a year old.

"the only good goblin is a dead goblin."

^
Obligatory "is a spot still open for a player?" is obligatory after that line XD

I'd assume we're all goblins then. I heard they can start hunting horned rabbits at the age of 3 days XD

@Celsius Yep, there's room for one more! Human characters only, for the time being. Monster PCs will open up as we enter those regions.

I am interested if a spot opens up. Though I have a strong affinity for magic. So if the possibility to learn magic as a knight is on the table I would be doubly excited.

You currently only have access to the Human race. The other races will become available as the story progress at which point you can make a new Character of that race if you want.

Probably not, look at the tags of this roleplay. That is, if you’re saying she added an extra zero

@Rhiven Knight Yes! You can absolutely be a mage-knight. While human mages are rare, they still exist, and our crack team of knights could definitely use one. There are a few bits of info you'll need to know about spellcasting, though.

* Magic possesses no inherent symbology. That was established a thousand years ago by a team of expert mage-programmers, and their spell-parsers are written in stone within the five Haven towers. The parsers can understand simple American English, no contractions, and runic engravings. They can recognize spoken words, weitten words, hand signs, dances, and certain symbols. Additionally, the mages created a vast library of predefined spells so that, for most spellcasting, all you need is a rough idea of what spell you want and its associated activation requirements.

In short: spellcasting is fairly simple. The hard part that you go to university for is picking the right spell components for the right situations by instinct. You don't need a tome unless 1) you're a noob or 2) you're getting crazy creative and need a place to keep your custom spells.
