Probably have to run that kind of thing past the gm. Seeing as how we are limited somewhat in what we can play until we have been and discovered things.

At any rate I am looking forward to this rp getting started, we have quite the eclectic cast of characters coming together. It will be interesting to see how they mesh together outside the structures and norms of their rolls and out on the quest.

im actually gonna make my character from a nearby allied country, because shes a viscount
just sayin

The people of Aion do not organize their nobility quite like a true medieval people would, because the system is not actually feudal. It's actually much closer to a republic. In the feudal system, a noble lord owns the land, and peasants live on it. On Aion, land is dirt-cheap (pun intended), if there's a price on it at all, and it's accessible to everyone, so anybody can own land. Noble lords simply rule over the lands assigned to them. The ranks and their duties are as follows:
* Lord: rules over a village
* Count: rules over a city/county
* Duke: rules over a province
* King: rules over a country

There are a few other meaningless titles offered too, like Archduke and Viscount, but the four listed above are the only ones with any real power. The nobility have sovereign dominion over their respective territories except where explicitly stated in the Constitution.

Let’s see, the daughter of a duchess Is called a lady until she inherits the title if she inherits it at all, I am constantly getting how these titles work mixed up
My characters parents are dukes which makes her a lady

Well, as statecraft wait to see this thing start rolling.

Also as far as Nebel is concerned, anyone from Ispar would know OF him, perhaps not know him personally but would of at least heard of him at some point.

Aark might at least of some of you. Some more than others.
On that note, I'm working on the second CS to better explain who they are in a meta kind of way, mostly for the purpose future planning.

EDIT: The first CS being a practical version to what the second will be, narratively.

EDIT2: Aaaand updated.

Currently writing a bit of poetry for the OP. Got the first verse down.

Also mulling over how best to start the RP. I have a few ideas in mind; feel free to make suggestions.
* Start off in a tavern, traditional DnD style. Pro: easy peasy. Con: boring doring. Doesn't fit very well with knights anyway.
* Start off meeting the king. Pro: makes sense for knights. Con: I suck at writing grandieur. I need to nail the intro, or it'll ruin the mood.
* Start off by giving each PC a custom invitation to a private conference with the king or the first prince. Pro: moderate difficulty, sets the mood. Con: takes a while to bring everyone together.
* Start off with the dragon's surprise attack on Drakengard. Pro: we get to start with a fight scene, and watch the princess get captured. Con: Batteries Sold Separately - giving it emotional charge of any sort could prove tough, as well as justifying why everyone is in one place.

I've got my work cut out for me. :P

I vote for the letter of invitation
It will give us players a chance to show the characters' personality, and you will have a chance to prepare the next post where we are finally together in a room

The letter of invitation sounds like a solid plan.
I agree with there being some small problems with other intros like the tavern not really making much sense. Personally, Aark probably wouldn't be in Drakengard if the princess had yet to be kidnapped.

There are ways it could be done not so long-form.

I don't mind. Darvus won't get a letter as he is within yelling distance.

The letter invitation fits best, and the meeting need not be explicitly with the king or first prince to take some pressure off. The kidnapping should be recent in everyones mind, within a few days at most a week. The letter need not be terribly personalized, think of it like a formal request from the king, delivered to hand picked knights. The meeting host could be the knight commander general, (A military advisor to the king) this would make the meeting more meet and potatoes, then towards its end, the Prince, or king, or both could show up to say his part, instilling the whole thing with a sense of dramatic effect. But I look forward to what you come up with, this is just my personal take.

So a letter to meet with sit-rep. That's basically what your getting down to?

And sure, letter works.

It's one option yeah, and I think it gives the most story telling flexibility but I honestly think nearly everything can be written to work.

@Rhiven Knight

No a sit-rep makes since, the King in this moment would not be in the best mind set because of the stress of running a kingdom, dealing with his child being taken, and on top of that now having to take MORE time out of his life to talk with a group of knights to go over the details of what happened despite it already being common knowledge of whats going on would be a little much to ask. Sure the King might come for inspection/roll call, maybe say a word or two but otherwise leave it to the current knight incharge of getting back his child to give the sit-rep.

That was my thought, and then the king can be presented as haunted by his circumstances, grim and determined, as a contrast to his kinglyness

As I worked on the OP, I realized several important NPC characters needed reworking. So I'm tackling a good bit of lore at the moment. Sit tight, everyone.
