A Vampire Hunting RP

I had this idea of a small town in Colorado deep in the Rocky Mountain range and forest. Ever since the first settlers came they discovered the creatures of nightmare. But there have been a select few that have sworn to ward them off. These Vampire Hunters are called The Protectors. They were to protect the town and all inhabitants. They have had this secret battle for over 100 years. Even today they are still battling. There has been an agreement now though. The Vampires keep to the forests, and the civilians never enter it.

So this is just a small example of the plot that i already have set, but there will be tensions between the Vampires and Protectors, and the Protector members as well. The older members will want to have the old traditions of vampire hunting, while some want to kill all of them off. There might be a revolution in the order between the current leader and a rebellious member. There will be action, drama, violence, romance, and more!

And as for the vampires, i want to make them vampires described in the novel "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter."

For those who don't know, the vampires there look normal whenever they want, but when angered, or when they smell the scent of blood, they turn in to a bleach white, transparent skinned monster with extremely sharp teeth, eyes completely black, as black as the darkest depths, and long, terrifying mouths. They move extremely quick, are extremely strong, and have extreme sense of smell and hearing.

When turning in to a vampire they are in the most pain they have ever experienced. When you are just turned to a vampire, the sunlight will instantly kill you, but when you have been a vampire for years, you can go into the daylight, but your eyes never adjust. Vampires cannot kill each other, garlic doesn't work, but a silver-metal-holywater alloy and wooden stakes work.

Is this techinally related to the AB: Vampire Hunter universe, or just the concept of how the Vampireism works?

Heh, I meant it more in the sense that the Hunters and the Vampires would be aware of events that happened, once upon a time, like how apparently the Civil War was a straight up Vampire plot, kind of thing.

ah, right haha... I'll say yes. The Hunters and Vampires will know that they both are very influential in most of the wars that have been going on even since the very first ones hundreds of years ago

Quite a few, but since it'll be a small city, we can't have a ton of people! But you can be a civilian(They don't know vampires exist, so they can be caught up in an incident) You can be a vampire (The older they are, the wiser and more mature they are, so they won't be going in to the city feasting on human blood), A Protector (Either the way of letting the "good" vampires do their own thing, and kill the "bad" ones, or the newer way of just wanting to make them all go extinct, there will be tension haha), you can be a Vampire who has proven that they can control themselves, and try to live their lives as normal as they can here, etc!

So, I assume the situation is sort of that the Vampire in general want to restrain themselves, so that they aren't found out, and you know, destroyed from existence and all. But when an attack does happen, it's because a 'younger' Vampire couldn't control their urges and lashed out, and thus why the Protectors exist.

Correct! Haha, and sometimes the protectors are the ones who start it by going against their agreement with someone accidentally or purposely going in to the forest. And as things go on, the vampires could get tired if this and want to control the town, or the protectors try to kill them all off, it'll all depend on what character personality we choose, and all that haha

Also, since Vampire have the side effect of being Immortal, how would you go about defining 'young'?

As of becoming a vampire. Your age starts over in a way. It takes a lot of years for vampires to get used to the sunlight, and then they will start eating animals or sick and old humans, and they will try to start a normal life.... And then after a long time, most usually kill themselves because they can't stand being immortal anymore.

Looks fun. I don't have any experience with the Abraham Lincoln-verse you're using, but the description you've provided is adequate enough. Just one clarification: when you said that "when turning, they're in the most pain they've ever experienced", does that mean just as they change, or the whole time they're in vampire form?

Also, putting in my interest for an old vampire, a behind-the-scenes sort of advisor who tries to guide the younger ones onto the correct path of coexistence and keep them from going on killing sprees.

Alright, that clears that up. What's the deal with vampire powers? Are they just strong and fast, or do they get the more classical vampire abilities? As I said, I have no experience with this particular vampire fandom. For that reason, I apologise if I've botched the power levels in the CS.

Tentative CS

Polaris
Age: Somewhere around five or six hundred
Height: 6' 5"

Description: Tall and thin, Polaris is never seen without his long black coat, black combat trousers and boots, and white t-shirt. His eyes are covered by sunglasses to conceal their blackness, while the tight t-shirt shows off well-defined muscles. Long, silky black hair is held back by a golden tie, falling in a long ponytail to his waist, while a well-kept black goatee adorns his chin. When his fangs show, they're a good centimeter longer than is normal, and he keeps his fingernails sharpened into claws which, thanks to his age and vampire strength, are capable of punching through anything up to and including an armoured vehicle.

Personality: Solemn and dignified, Polaris' quiet words carry a gravitas found in few other places. He is formal and distant to most, but the few who know him well find that, while still reserved, his words can carry a great warmth.

History: One of the oldest vampires in existence, Polaris has long since forgotten his exact date of birth, but he knows it was sometime in the fourteen or fifteen hundreds. His razor-sharp intelligence has been an invaluable aid in adapting, but he still tends to slip back into old mannerisms and customs. He was indirectly involved with Abraham Lincoln, sending him tipoffs and luring groups of the less savoury vampires into his path, but never showed himself. Now, he acts as a guide - hence his chosen name - and tries to keep the "young-bloods" on the right path, helping them to coexist peacefully.
