[IC] The Rise of the Guardian

Drake sighed and said “I want to send Ash but she can’t go alone...not with those things seeming to be attracted to her for some reason...I don’t want her at risk but I can’t spare anyone else...”

Ash was laying on the bed, the doc checking on the camp and she pulled with her pendent around her neck. She knew she needed to leave and find answers. But where?

[Jazz]

Carth tilted his head a little with what the Captain said, wondering what he was talking about. 'That those things seemed to be attracted to her?' This was something rather odd and Carth was curious. "I can go. You can't spare anyone and I work where I can to help. I'll help her. But what makes you think that these creatures are so attracted to her?" He asks curiously, wondering what his proof maybe.

Drake looked up and leaned back. “Ranger Asteria has an odd way about her. She’s stubborn. But whenever these creatures attack they always seem to go right for her. Like attacking the strongest in the herd...we can’t figure it out. But your not a ranger, why help?”

[Jazz]

Carth listened to this explanation though it somewhat made sense but yet still had questions. It didnt matter though. As much as the Captain pulled up a good question, the answer was simple. "As you said. You cant spare anyone to go with her. On top of that, I dont see why not. I help where I can. I have no place to go back to and I go where the world wants me to go. If I am meant to go with Ash, then so be it. As long as I am some sort of help somewhere. This is why i became a warrior. This is my belief."

Drake looked at him then said “smog she is okay with the plan then so am I. She’s not an easy one to work with...and you will run into more of those creatures. If that’s alright with you, I bless the idea”

Ash was getting her gear together as she moved quickly to get out of there before the doc got back. “If I get out now I can get going north quickly...”

Carth nodded for he understood what he would be dealing with. "I will go and ask her then. If there is nothing else, I will go see her." Carth bows his head and and leaves the tent, making his way to the medical tent to go see Ash. He was a little nervous really because he had no idea how he could possibly persuade this woman when he didnt know much other than that she was stubborn.

Ash was finishing packing as she flinched at her back and lowered her head as Carth walked into the tent. She muttered “I have to get going before more of those things show up...I can’t let the others get hurt because they found me...” she started to move again then gasped, dropping her pack and reaching for her back wounds.

[Jazz]

"So you think you might have an idea as to why those creatures might be following you? You seem to have a better idea than your own Captain." Carth asks, seeing how this woman was already ready to commit suicide with the fact that her wounds weren't even healed. He sighs looking at the poor woman. "I volunteered to come with you on an assignment by your Captain. Will you have me?"

Ash turned and got up slowly. “All I know is when they showed up, I was at the first sighting location...and they keep coming. They are looking for something and I’m going to get to the bottom of it...if you want to come with me I won’t stop you” she set her bag on the bed, flinching in pain.

[Jazz]

Carth walked up to Ash standing next to her. "In all reason, you shouldn't be moving. You need to heal or you will just make your condition worse. If you want to get to the bottom of what has happened, then you need the proper rest and peak condition in order to make this journey." Carth then had an idea. "If I help get what you want packed, will you get some rest during that time?" He asks.

Ash looked at him then sighed and said “okay...I’ll rest if you can get the rest of this gear packed up? And we will need food supplies if your coming with me...”

[Jazz]

Carth agreed with a simple nod, "I will get the needed supplies for the journey ahead. Get some rest till my return." He grabs some of the bags that Ash had set out for the trip. At least assuming that that was what they were for. As he walked out of the tent and grabbed his horse, Carth began to think about this new situation. It had been a long time since he had any sort of company with him. He huffed an amused laugh at that. This was going to be interesting journey ahead of them.

Carth had been gathering the necessary supplies and equipment with the help of his steed so it could be distributed later, though it did take a bit. Once the gathering of supplies was done, Carth made his way back to the tent that Ash was staying in for the time being. Hoping what he gathered was going to be enough for both of them.

When he got back Ash was sleeping lightly leaning against the wall and sitting on the cot. She looked very peaceful sleeping, not like she had almost died from a beast. When he walked in she stirred a little but stayed asleep.

Drake was putting maps together and put them in a bag muttering “hopefully she can find some peace now...”

Carth looked to the sleeping form of Ash as she slept. As much as he didn't like the fact that she was sitting up but he wasn't going to complain as long as she was sleeping peacefully. He set the bags he had aside and decided to give her some time to rest, sitting by the entrance on guard. It had been a few hours till Carth got up from his spot, walking up to the sleeping woman and lightly resting a hand on her shoulder jostling her. "Ash. It is time to wake. You wanted to head out on your mission?"

Ash stirred and opened her eyes, looking around and muttered “what? Oh ya...” she shook her head and got u slowly, rubbing her face and looking around. “My horse should be in the field...we should go before the captain tries anything”

She finished loading the bags and jumped up and said “we have a long way to go. You ready?”

[Jazz]

Carth nodded grabbed the supplies as they headed out, his steed following behind them as they went to the fields to get Ash's horse. Helping to load everything between himself and Ash, he got himself up on his horse and looked to her with a curt nod. "As ready one will ever be." He follows Ash as they head out. "Where is it that we are headed exactly?" He asked.

After they rode out of the camp Ash turned and said “we are heading north to figure out where these creatures are coming from and why...and why they seem to be coming after me so badly”

She sighed and rubbed her head and watched the sun starting to rise. “Why are you coming with me?”

Carth nodded a little as she explained, understanding the mission a little better. Brown orbs looked to her then the forest around them. "I came because your Captain said that he was short-handed, I offered my services and he said that no doubt you were going to go off for answered and asked me to ask you about it," Carth explained. "I help where I can to the best of my abilities. I was born a wonderer where the world wants me, so that is where I go. Honestly, I too am curious about the origin of these creatures." He continued, looking to Ash by the end of his explanation.

Ash listened as they rode and said nodded saying “so just out of the goodness of your heart? Interesting but I’ll take it. Last nights fight was something g I would rather not repeat of being on my own...”

They were deep in the woods now and she was watching carefully. She muttered “I hate this...it feels like we are being watched”

Carth gave her a confused look when she pointed out that thia was out of the goodness of his heart. In all technicality, yes. They were short handed and needed help. So why not? But it wasnt like he was going to tell them what he was seeing through his eyes. That in a way, he saw himself in her. He was also going off of his gut feeling. To follow and help find out the cause of this disturance in nature.

Deeper into the forest they had gone into and he too was noticing that they were being watched. "I understand the feeling. But let us trek forward. It maybe out of curiosity, fear, or waiting to strike. In this matter, I hope its the latter." He says with his brown eyes scanning the area for anything suspicious.
