[IC] The Rise of the Guardian

Ash took the mug and sipped it, looking down. “I don’t want special treatment for this…I’ll be fine once I get my head back on track and we get moving again. I’m not the important one here” she sipped again and asked “when can we get out of here doc? When can you clear me and scarlet?”

Carth was a little confused by that statement. No the important one? How? He shakes his head at the thought and lets it go. He wasn't going to figure that out.

"I need to check on Scarlet's back and other than your headaches, you are free to go. I would say give me a couple days to get my things in order and I will be ready." Orion states.

Scarlet blinked and said “wait your coming with us? I thought…” Ash shook her head at Scarlet then said “then Carth and I will leave so you can examine her and we will start getting things ready to leave in two days time”

Orion gave a cheeky grin toward Scarlet at her surprise. Carth nodded before standing. Orion nodded toward Ash. "Will do." With that he motions Scarlet to come with him and Carth waits for Ash to leave with her.

Ash nodded and left with Carth as Scarlet went over to Orion and said “I see…let’s check things out…”

Ash looked around and said “let’s go check with the assassins and see what our next location should be”

Orion directed her to a bed. I'll close the certain so you may pull up your shirt and lay down on your stomach for me. I'll going to go get the salve." He says, waiting for her to enter the space before closing the space. "Let me know when you are ready."

Carth nodded though he began thinking about what Scarlet and he had talked about. Though more of him listening and Scarlet talking about it all. Scratching the back of his head, he wonders how he should even say it. After a bit he takes a breath and lets says it. "So Scarlet and I found an interesting book when we were at the library the other day. And it had it do with two sisters....." He begins to recite what the book said.

Scarlet said “you got it doc” she slipped her shirt off and laid down and sighed. “All ready Orion?”

Ash listened closely as he spoke and a dull ache started as she said “that sounds so familiar…do you think the dragons are linked to this tale?”

Orion opened the certain and walked up to her, removing her bandages and examining the wound before applying the salve with a bit of his magic to help it heal.

Carth seemed thoughtful upon hearing her question. "It is possible. But would need to find out more." He ponders.

Scarlet flinched at his touch and said “sorry…it’s really sensitive for some reason…”

Ash nodded and said “do you have the book?”

[Jazz]

"It's alright. Give it some time. I added some of my power to it so it should give your body the extra boost to heal your wound." He continues to examine the wound while slowly going from the edges toward the center.

Carth had a realization upon remembering where it was. "I do." He maneuvers his bag for better access before digging through it to find thr book. He then hands it to her.

Scarlet nodded and said “will I be able to move like I once did? My fighting style has me moving a lot and bending my back like this”

Ash took the book and looked at the cover, the image familiar. She opened it and started to look thru the pages. When she found the story he spoke of she saw the images with it and it made her stop dead. A temple with runes. Two birds flying overhead. She stared at it, she was forgetting to breath as she looked at it.

"If it continues to heal well, you should be able to move like normal. So far all seems to be fine. Adding some of my power is helping your body repair the worst. You may feel a bit exhausted with your body wanting to heal first and foremost. Spend the next two days resting. I will come to your quarters to apply this again this evening and all of tomorrow." Orion explains to Scarlet. It was just how the body and his power worked. The body did the work. He gives it a boost with medicine and his abilities.

Carth watched Ash as she flipped through the book, the reactions she made. He was preparing for what may happen. When she stopped in her tracks when when he had slowed down to get behind her. Observing Ash intently, his sight noticed she had made no sign to breath. Carefully placed a hand on her shoulder and gave a small squeeze. He hoped that was jarr her from her trance. "Ash? What's the matter?" He asks.

Scarlet nodded and said “guess I’ll just have to do my best then…” she moved to look at him, already feeling the tiredness hitting but wanted to push thru it.

Ash stared at the page then at his touch she said “this…I know this place…but I don’t know how I know…but I see myself there…I can’t…” she held her head, the pounding starting.

Orion continued till he was done, putting a fresh bandage on her back before checking on her to see if she was asleep. If so, he would cover her up with a blanket and leave to close the certain and let her sleep.

Carth looked at the page she was looking at and tilted his head confused about it. Looking at Ash to see her struggling. Looking around he notices a bench and guides her to sit down. "It's okay Ash. Take a breath, what can't you do?" He asks.

Scarlet had fallen asleep thanks to his treatment, she seemed to be peaceful for the first time since joining up with this crew.

Ash sat down and said “I can’t remember…I get pieces that don’t make sense…but I know this place is important I just don’t know why…” she closed the book as her head hurt worse as she rubbed where the scar was on her temple.

Carth glanced away, unsure what to do. What could he do? He doesn't know how to help in this fashion. This wasn't really his fault. It was something he hadn't confronted before. He gave a small squeeze to Ash's shoulder. "I'm sorry I wish there was a way I could help you. I'm sorry you are unable to remember. But I hope you are able to remember in time."

Ash nodded and handed him the book. “You better hold onto this. I can’t keep losing my grip. Let’s go find the others and see what they have found out. Then we can start gathering supplies so we can get out of here”

Carth took the book like he was told and put the book away. He can only nod for he wasn't sure what else to do but follow. Remembering more on what he and Scarlet talked about, he could only beat himself up for not being able to talk more and try to reassure her.

When heading stables near the gate, the two assassins were there just finishing the purchase of a covered wagon. It was big enough to house them all comfortably enough if need be.

Ash smiled and waved at the hooded ones and came up to them. “Nice work guys. This will make travel a lot easier. How many horses do we have? We have three”

Altoron and Maltoran looked to Ash when she arrived, stopping what they were doing to give her their full attention. "We have three as well." Maltoran states. Carth breaks away from Ash to inspect the wagon. "What is the news about Orion?" Altoron asks.
