Some people think they can outsmart me.

*Sniff.*

Maybe.

Maybe.

I have yet to meet one man who can outsmart logic.

Blowing up the expensive robot could be seen as the joker burning the huge stack of cash in the Dark Night.

If one was playing the Joker, absolutely. However, a douchebag that works for a universe-conquering regime that sent him there with the express purpose of purging that planet of life? Yeah... makes no sense to explode the planet-murdering nuclear doomtank.

Except that if the explosion was big enough, the fallout would kill everybody anyway. Mission accomplished.

And if that detonation isn't big enough to get the job done (which it isn't, at only 1 megaton according to the stat I just looked up), exploding said robot to try and kill two opponents is no more illogical than sending it to kill an entire planet in the first place. The thing is 280 feet tall and powered by a presumably fairly conventional thermonuclear reactor. How in the world is it going to be capable of generating enough firepower to wipe out all life on a 12,000 kilometer wide planet? (assuming a planet of similar size to earth).

My point being that nitpicking over what's illogical and what isn't in an RP with 280 foot tall robots, titans made of magical stone, and buxom lasses that can create tangible energy fields seems a bit asinine, especially when done to the extent that it's been done here. Just let it go and move on. Green's character doesn't have to justify his actions to you, just as yours doesn't have to justify her actions to him. As long as the actions taken weren't wildly out of character or taken based on OOC knowledge, then how logical or illogical they were from everyone's various perspectives doesn't really matter, and Edmund has been shown to be not entirely stable since the beginning. It's even in his CS.

I've been in your position before, Beta. Things have transpired in RP's that got me so riled up I didn't care what other people thought of me so long as I could force down their throats the fact that I was right and the other guy was wrong. The problem was, I wasn't right. I took things way too far and just made an asshole out of myself over something that the other guy had every right to do, even if he didn't go about it quite the right way. I eventually saw the light and apologized for my behavior in the end, but the damage was done and how the people on that forum perceived me would never be the same again.

So please, for your own sake as much as ours, take a deep breath and try and let this go. We'll all end up the better for it. :)

It's 2800 feet tall... the character "Erde" was 12 feet tall, and Ysolda in her Essence Armor was 20ft tall.

Killing a mech that size... just to kill two people that are LITERALLY insignificant by comparison... makes ZERO sense whatsoever. As for killing a planet with it? It had like 6,000 fucking doom-missiles, a laser cannon that could carve MILES into the ground, and god-fucking-knows what else. Even without the missiles, it could STOMP its way through a city, mash skyscrapers up to 1km tall under its hands or feet, ram anything taller than that, laser-murder anything that got in its way, drill-hand shit to death, etc...

Nuking it to take out two people... makes as much sense as me drowning an ant-mound in my own blood.

Literally... if he was sent there to wipe out that planet, he could have done it with relative ease (minus Skall's GM character who is MIA due to Skall being gone). So the course of action he took after >I< was called on shit and explained what I was doing... SCREAMS of "yeahfuckthatshithavefunbeingnukedbye." metagaming.

Wasn't the rule stayed at "You can't attack and charge in a single post" and "If you charge, you have to focus and can't do much else"?

It actually makes about as much sense as a psychotic mass-murderer drowning an ant-mound in their own blood, which is no sense at all, but that's the entire point of being crazy. The actions and choices of insane people don't make sense to sane people, that's just how it works. It's why they're called insane. Calling it illogical isn't an argument against it, it's just the statement of a fact. The stuff crazy people do will never make sense to people who aren't crazy.

But at the end of the day, this is just a roleplay. Nobody actually died, and you yourself said you had a way for Ysolda to survive so nobody has to die in the RP either. On top of that, you and LeeRoy got Green's character to destroy his most powerful asset, meaning he'll be easier to beat until he gets a new one. His detonation of that mech gave you two an exploitable advantage, and all you can do is continuously point out how illogical the actions of an insane character are.

If you can't let it go, then at least take the win, survive to fight again, and stomp him when he comes back with an intermediate-tier mech.

Yeah, but I decided to say fuck it and lost every ounce of care I had for that fight, condemning Ysolda to death... and Green literally made a universe-spanning empire in which that character is INCREDIBLY high-ranking. He can literally be like: "New mech, now." and get one. Hell, according to the post, they TOLD him to blow it up, and that he could GET another one. Fuck you, Green. Fuck you with a used syringe.

NOTHING sets me off more than fucking metagamers.

He has to make it back to his empire first. Does Ysolda have nothing in her arsenal capable of intercepting a fighter jet?

And even if he can get another one before you can catch him, Ysolda will know what she's up against next time. She can prepare and strategize, where before she was only reacting to the immediate threat. She knows what that thing is capable of now, and that gives her another tactical advantage.

Other than her spells, she has a magic bow and archery shit... so no.

And as for next time, there won't be one. I don't RP with metagamers.

It wasn't metagaming. The detonation was clearly outlined as being a usable attack in his CS, and Edmund's mentality allows for exceedingly illogical actions without breaking character or utilizing OOC knowledge. Which Ysolda also knows now, giving her yet another exploitable advantage.
