I also pointed out ICly that the prep was going toward a spell. Even noted it was a rather nasty one that the character really didn't want to use, but saw little choice BUT to use it.

No, the solution to being accused of metagaming is to stick to your character's established personality and mentality, which Green did.

Having an insane character suddenly start functioning as a sane individual would be no different than a sane character suddenly starting to function as an insane one with no IC trigger, both would be metagaming. For instance, if the Joker decided to turn over a new leaf and become a hero alongside Batman in the middle of a fight because he suddenly felt immense remorse for the atrocities he's committed, it would be metagaming. The same would be true for Batman joining the joker. Neither action is in character, and would therefore be illegal.

Metagaming: In role-playing games, metagaming is a term often used to describe players' use of assumed characteristics of the game. In particular, metagaming often refers to having a character act on knowledge that only the player has access to.

Example: Beta being called on a rule, and explaining his character's actions in the OOC. Green, realizing his shit is about to get ruined, bullshits a "HEYGUISELOLCOMEBACKTOTHESHIP" call from random npc #32, ejects, and detonates a triple-nuke to kill the ants that were ruining his picnic... then claiming 'Well he didn't know she was still there lol" ... when I stated multiple times that Ysolda's aura was bright enough to see for MILES... and in a darker environment such as they were fighting on... she couldn't really hide anywhere, even on the mech's leg.

To further clarify, she was there because she felt it couldn't reach her there... not so much to hide.

Well, I tried. There are half a dozen reasons that scenario could be taken for a win, and a perfectly valid explanation for Edmund's actions (note: valid is not the same as logical), but you clearly aren't interested in seeing any of those. In the interest of not dragging this out any further, I'm going to not drag it out any further.

If i were Green, i wouldn't try what he did there, simply beacause i like my characters to epicly win completely on their own, or die horribly for failing to do so. But as i am just a bystander here, my only argument against that decision is that such a trick is indeed close to metagaming, introducing a third side to the battle, akin to when Khazna made his way out of Leeroy's explosion: something seemingly unacceptable during a fight, yet used twice already in the finale. The battle ensues between a fixed number of characters, and any NPC's are either summoned with an ability, or made zero-tier (unable to affect the battle's flow). But here, a character hastily brought into action actualy becomes a gamechanger, allowing for both murder and escaping. Maybe this isn't a rule yet, but it sure seem's like it should be.

Sure, this is getting old, but we can still prevent such things from happening in the future, rite?

Green saw what I was about to do, played the "LOL He's crazy so I can do this" card, metagamed so hard that metagaming's mom felt it, and gets off free-and-clear because he's more familiar to everyone than this n00b that is mad about being metagamed on.

That's unfair, my personal feelings about Green aside Schradinger has made some pretty solid points, there's no reason to insult his efforts to placate you, even if they were evidently a lost cause.

Of course, considering the situation I would have just brutally murdered the Low Tier opponent now floating around.
