Well, i was also thinking of letting my characters be able to dodge bullets, though it would be more of a "belly-dance-dodge-while-keeping-your-eyes-on-the-gun's-muzzle" that allows to dodge a significant amount of what you're fed, yet takes a great amount of concentration and implies direct eye contact with the opponent. Morever, dodging fire from multiple arms would increase the strain expotentaily. That must be legit for a high-intermediate character.

@Beta, upon reading your character, I must ask; Is he built upon the World of darkness, Scion, or Exalted system?

Exalted, of course. Have you never seen the Dragon-Blooded? Or are you only familiar with the Solars?

Also, I have a Scion character in my archives, as well.

Y'know, at intermediate, mundane bullets from normal arms would be either unable to touch you or bounce off your char, as long as said character focus on the physical side of powers. Smart or mage based char couldn't do it directly, but I think their toys would be able to achieve the same thing.
High-tier chars? I think the only think that would make them look around is at least an orbital bombardment or Exterminatus scale.

Awh. Exalted is the system I'm least familiar with. Been playing World of darkness and Scion for a few years, loving the flexibility of the two. To this day, I have never actually played Exalted :/

From what I saw, Exalted is Scion and Warhammer 40k mixed in a blender with a dose of bullshit and rule of cool added in.
And I'm pretty sure in both Scion and Exalted, ranged weaponry became useless on higher level. At least without homebrewing in both of them.

I'm just sitting here trying to calculate how much force a MAC would have behind it.

The barrels of the cannons themselves are 2 feet wide and 9 feet long.
The rounds it fires are 250lb slugs of tungsten.

MACs are pretty much just Gauss guns, but bigger. They're a magnetic coilgun and they would speed up that slug of tungsten to around 10,000mp/s as they're three stage cannons. So 250lbs sped up to 10,000mp/s would produce. . .

Ech, I don't know the formula for force.

Should give it a try sometime. I have a few pdfs I could send your way.

No, there are some really powerful ranged weapons, and lots of ranged abilities similar to my character's melee/martial arts ones. In addition, there's stuff like Warstriders (that are basically magi-tech gundams), flame-wands (pistols that shoot alchemical fire), and essence cannons (shoop da woop laz0rz).

No. Bad Khan. Not D&D. Go home.

See that's the thing.

When you're dodging objects as fast as bullets, it makes me seriously question the plausibility of the fight in the first case. The only other weapon you'll be using are lasers/particle beams and swords, and if you're bending around inert projectiles like small or medium caliber rounds, what use is a melee weapon in this regard?

The next step is simply dropping bombs on the foe, since that's an AoE weapon.

Distance traveled and force, I'd say. Besides, the melee weapon used are hardly normal while we're talking about possibly normal guns.

Evey one in the Tabletop community knows Exalted is OP to the extreme.

Also blood elves? But with red eyes instead of green and allot more pale?

Well, it isn't so much the weapon that's the qualifying factor; it's whatever is using it.

I mean, it's a melee weapon.

Unless people are swinging around live ICBMs as clubs, then I guess that counts as an 'abnormal sword' that has the potential to cause great havoc should its wielder hit something with it.

EDIT: Unless the sword is made out of unobtainium and not some common material.

Well.

Meh.
