New York-- the city that never sleeps. Bearing a population of 8.6 million, it is considered one of the greatest cities in the world. Tourists filter in and out of the city every day while its citizens thread through the streets in packs. It may be a tourist destination, but what of its people? The factory workers, the office workers, the CEOs, the businessmen and women? They are what makes the city tick, but that only matters in the present.
Linden High School-- a quaint school near the heart of the city. It's nothing much to look at... but according to Principal Mendes, the students at Linden HS make up the future of not only the country, but the entire planet. Little do a certain handful of students know, he couldn't be any closer to the truth. Caught in the midst of the second half of the school year, their somewhat peaceful (and mostly hectic) lives are about to take a bizarre turn for the worst.
Thirty-three years ago, an earth-changing discovery was made. An excavating team unearthed six strange arrows from the sands of Egypt. An organization known as the Speedwagon Foundation promptly spirited them away and kept them under strict supervision for research. Their studies concluded that the arrowheads had been fashioned from a meteorite that fell to Earth roughly fifty-thousand years ago. However, despite the security the arrows were placed under, they were stolen and sold to willing buyers all over the globe.
After the disappearance of the arrows, strange things began to happen. It was said that those pierced by the arrows stirred dormant abilities within their persona, but nothing became of such rumors. They were simply smothered and, with time, everyone forgot about them.
Fast forward to 2019. One of those strange arrows had been tucked away in New York City's many museums, but it has suddenly gone missing. The Speedwagon Foundation has slipped into the city in search of who could have stolen it. But it's been months since the disappearance of the arrow, and no one knows where it's gone. Yet, things are bound to reach a boiling point, sooner or later.
This is a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure roleplay that takes place in New York City. The series' parts have never occurred, nor will they ever occur; this means that there was never a Jonathan, Joseph, Jotaro, Kira, Diavolo, or anyone else that has any ties to the series. The only thing that will stick with us is the presence of the Speedwagon Foundation (which is, of course, the organization that gathers intel and studies supernatural happenings) and the influence of a Stand Arrow.
Our characters will be students at Linden High School. It is currently March 19th, 2019, which means that it is roughly the middle of the school year. For now, their worries revolve around passing their classes, graduating, surviving in the big city, and so forth. They may know one another, but at the same time, they might only be classmates. Though, while they may be students, their lives are going to change throughout the span of the roleplay. Yes, they will get Stands, one way or another. Maybe they were born with the ability, or maybe they somehow get pierced by the missing Stand Arrow. Either way, our characters will be very, very inexperienced with their newfound powers, and will definitely run into both the Speedwagon Foundation and bad guys at certain points in time. There will be a chance for downtime between characters, but remember this: our characters will be put on a mission. Some, if not all, of them will die for the greater good. At least, we can only hope so.
Please note that this is a 18+, high-casual/semi-advanced roleplay. While I don't expect novels for posts, I would like for you to please take your time creating your characters and writing your posts. We all make mistakes, and that's fine, but if your post gives me a headache to read, then that'll be an issue.
Do not ghost us. If you need to step away from the RP, please let me know.
I will listen to people's suggestions and ideas for plot development and etc. However, my final decision is law.
Carefully think about your character when creating them and their Stands. Not everyone will be accepted. I will only pick four people from the number that have proclaimed interest. This means that think about gender, type of personalities, and such when creating the character. As for Stands, try to focus on making them creative and fun to play with, not something game-breakingly OP or edgy.
DO NOT COPY STAND NAMES/ABILITIES OF ALREADY PREXISTING STANDS. There's bound to be some overlap with abilities, but I don't want a carbon copy of Star Platinum or The World.
DO NOT WRITE YOUR CHARACTER'S STAND INFORMATION ON YOUR SHEET. Even though there is a field for such information, that is to be used later on. Instead, PM me the information instead. If it's acceptable, I will let you know when you can reveal the full specifics of your Stand. This is to promote suspense/curiosity/mystery when it comes to each character.
Once the OOC goes up, I will create a discord and PM the invite link to those who have already proclaimed interest. Please be active on the discord, as that is the easiest way for most people to get in touch with one another.
I don't want you guys to constantly pump out posts. Thus, we will be running on a semi-cyclic posting schedule. This means you should try to wait for everyone to post first before typing another post. If the person we're waiting for doesn't post in a week or so, then we may move on.
I get that we're all busy at times, but I would love it if players post once or twice a week.
I am a fun-loving person. I love it when we talk about things on Discord and make fun of characters, create ships, theories, and relationships. Don't hesitate to reach out to me for anything you need!
Have fun~
