The Sundown Company started in 1964 as a private military organization. They were founded by Bill Tyler in Arizona, where their original base was kept. Over the years, the company became involved in a few scandals, and the legality of their existence came to question. Where they private soldiers? Or mercenaries? In 1980, the company was ordered to shut down operations, but seeing as it made it's founder a multimillionaire, Bill was less than willing to let his cash cow go. Instead, he decided to pick up and move his business somewhere they would never be found: the deep jungles of Venezuela. Enter Camp Sunshine.

The "Camp" operates under the guise of a summer camp for rich kids, or at least that's what goes on the paperwork. The real mission behind Camp Sunshine is a bit more insidious: training mercenaries for the field. These soldiers, once trained, can be bought and shipped off to fight for whoever has the deepest pockets. Each soldier is worth thousands of dollars.

Camp Sunshine offers a wide range of fun summer activities, such as an afternoon at the shooting range, a dip in the lake, or maybe a nice hike in the woods.

The Tents

Campers are grouped by which tent they are assigned. Your choices are Tent A, Tent B, Tent C, and Tent D, and also you don't get a choice. There are four campers per tent, male and female. You won't be separated in the field, and you won't be separated at Camp. Your tentmates are your family while you are at camp. You will eat with them, sleep with them, fight with them, and hopefully survive with them.

Gold Stars

Gold Stars are the currency at Camp Sunshine. You use them to buy extra supplies or food at the camp store. The Star is nothing more than a gold sticker on a card, but you better protect it with your life. Many campers have been "sent home" over stolen Stars.

Camp Store

The Camp Store is where campers can buy extra supplies with their gold stars. Guns, ammo, knives, equipment, food, alcoholic beverages, ect.

Night Watch

Camp Sunshine occasionally gets nighttime visitors, so a night watch is established each night to keep them at bay. Located in the heart of drug cartel territory, Camp Sunshine has had run-ins with these neighbors in the past. After a try or two to take over the territory, the cartels usually learn that messing with Camp Sunshine just isn't worth the trouble. However, every few years, a new boss will gain control and will try his luck once again. Two campers from each tent take the first watch, then switch with their tentmates for second watch. Look sharp soldiers, you may work for these guys some day.

The Shooting Range

t's pretty self explanatory. The Shooting Range offers the campers a place to hone their shooting skills. The range is a mandatory activity, and is assigned to a different tent each morning. You usually get an hour to practice, but can be held there long if you don't do well.

The Lake

Lake Sunshine is where all water based activities occur. The most popular is the Dive Challenge, where tents are pitted against each other in finding an object tossed into the bottom of the lake. The tent that finds it first receives a Star for each camper in said tent. The lake is also open for free swim during downtime, if you happen to come across any.

The Jungle

Camp Sunshine is surrounded by thick, near impenetrable jungle. This jungle helps keep the Camp hidden, and also provides the playground for the Thirty Mile Challenge. This Challenge takes every camper into the heart of the jungle, thirty miles from camp, and drops them all off in groups according to their tent. The tents then compete to find their way back. The first tent that makes it back with all surviving members gets Stars all around. "Surviving" being the key term. This challenge is known for being particularly brutish. While killing each other is typically frowned upon at Camp, deep in the jungle, no one can hear your scream.

The Mountain

What's a good summer camp without a mountain hike? The Mountain is a snow capped peak that lays near Camp Sunshine, and is utilized for the final camp challenge, The Climb. The Climb takes every camper and, you guessed it, pits them against each other in a race to the top. This challenge is taken very seriously, as it decides whether or not you get to leave camp. While it can very much be every man for himself, it's recommended that stick with your tent mates; you've gotten each other this far, after all.

1: Blatant attempted murder of fellow campers is frowned upon.
2: Don't get murdered.
3: If you decide to run away from Camp Sunshine, good luck in the jungle. Don't bother trying to come back.
4: Recruitment. Bill is always on the look out for new, extraordinary soldiers. New campers are either recruited by Bill himself (via letter, typically), or by former Camp Sunshine Campers. Once you graduate Camp Sunshine, you can recruit too. If your recruitee survives their summer at Camp, Bill can ensure you a fat Christmas bonus to show his gratitude.

So, a couple issues.

1: please don't post in the character tab until your form is approved.

2: I like the idea of hin being able to hold his breath for a long time l, but 30 minutes is a bit much. Maybe 10, max?

3: If he wandered into the camp, he'd probably be shot on sight. People are typically invited either by Bill (like via letter or something) or by former attendees. I just realized I never specified that, so that one's my bad.

Name:Garrett Jansen
Age:29
Gender:Male
Nationality:South African
Tent:A

Specialty: Highly Disciplined, and well trained: Garrett had a pretty extensive service record with the South African military, and South African Special forces brigade. His discipline is top notch. He'll follow orders to the letter, and won't shy away from the worse things his superiors ask of him. He's never afraid to get his hands dirty. His training is on par with that of others in his regiment he's even earned some operator badges on his old uniform.

Airborne: The SADF SF 001 brigade are made for airborne operations. HALO, combat drops, helo insertion. You name it if it flies he can jump out of it, and probably land it as well if need-be.

Reason for Joining The Sundown Company: Adventure, wanting to see more of the world.

Personality: Garrett is nothing but professional. He does his job, and always tries to 100 percent go beyond client, and officer expectations. So he is very much a crowd-pleaser as well, but he absolutely hates being shown up. He's gotta be the best no matter what he's doing. Outside of work, and training. He still tries his hardest to please people, and try to make friends. But his attitude sometimes rubs the more hardened killers the wrong way due to his overt friendliness.

Appearance:

History:Garret lived a pretty happy life in South Africa. The oldest boy of three, His family never had to struggle for much, and if anything they had an abundance of what they wanted. But still he very much grew up in a time where racism, and xenophobia were still present in South Africa, and although not as violent after Mandela. It was still very much a part of his life, where it was common for people in his family to look down on others. But that never became a part of who he was, he was friendly to everyone, and anyone he met. Despite the warning his family used to give about their perceived "Lessers" And despite what people called him for being friendly to others.

As he grew into a young man despite having anything, and everything he can possibly want he decided to spite his family, and join the SADF. This shocked his family, and caused a schism between him, and his parents. They just could not see why their oldest child would want to join the military, and give up his posh life. They fought for days, and eventually settled on never speaking again. And to this day he still hopes every letter he gets is one from his parents. Saying they forgave him, and accept what he wants. Or that they were wrong, but it never comes.

His training in the SADF was brutal, but he still preformed admirably his superiors said he never disobeyed an instructors orders no matter how cruel. Run until you puke? He did it until his stomach was empty, Push ups until your arms give out? He did that, then kept trying despite them. This coupled with just a knack for soldiering made him an amazing recruit, and guaranteed that his superiors would be watching his career in the future. After his training, he did the usual SADF stuff. Help quell some of the worse riots, help deal with rebels. The usual for them. But the exemplary way he handled him made his unit CO request for him to go through SF training.

If he thought SADF was bad, SF training was hell on earth. Grueling exercises, tough scenarios, no sleep, falling out of perfectly good airplanes. But he once again tried to out preform. So he made it worse on himself, and managed to rub some of his fellow trainees the wrong way as well. When he was told he was one of the very few to make it through the training, and they handed him his first assignment his true calling began.

Six years he spent with SASF. Six long years. Mission to mission. Quelling rebels, terrorists, and other scum. Following orders to the letter, no matter how brutal. A total difference from his friendliness off the field. Torture, long range shooting, being pointman on a breach. He never said no to anything from his superiors. But still he felt something was missing. He had never left South Africa, and he had a desire to see the world. So he asked around if there was a way to do it, and still do what he loved. That's when one of his officers slipped him the brochure for Camp Sunshine, telling him. "I know a guy there, and you can always learn new skills from them. But you can also show em how we do it down here, while getting to see more of wide world. Go get em eh?" The two shook hands, and when his contract was up he made the proper arrangements, flew out there, and then met with the camp contact who took him the rest of the way. To begin a new chapter in his life, a new area of training.

@Jasper19

Just leave it there and fix the stuff I mentioned.

Also, I added new section on recruitment under Camp Rules. What if, when he was shipwrecked, your guy was found by one of mercs working for the cartel? And said merc, upon seeing his swimming prowess, recruits him for CS?

Name: Alec O'Donnell
Age: 21
Gender:male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Nationality:American(Irish decent)
Tent: tent C

Speciality: Alec is in every way a sailor he is most at home when in a boat or in the water. He could sail a ship of medium size almost entirely by himself. He can hold his breath for almost ten minutes and is an expert at diving and water operations, but he could still hold his own in a fight.

Personality: Alec is rowdy and carefree to hide the pain he feels from his dad dying but don't let that fool you it's only when he's on land. When he is on a boat he becomes opinionated he will tell you what your doing wrong or if he thinks your doing something wrong. He becomes somewhat bossy as he was used to being captain of his own small ship. Despite being like that though he truly cares for anyone he considers his crew and he will always be there if they have a emergency or need his help.

Appearance: Alex is a lean person as he never needed to bulk up. His hands are calloused from severe rope burns and rough cloth. He stands at 5'8 and has medium length platinum blond hair that is borderline white,if his hair didn't make money and out enough Alec also has heterochromia which means one of his eyes are brown and the other is green. He wears a dark blue watch cap with a waterproof black windbreaker and a dark blue thermal shirt underneath. He also wears black jeans with black combat boots.

Other: Alec speaks with a slight southern accent as he originally comes from Texas, he likes to carry a pack of cigarettes on him at all times, his favorite alcohol is whiskey , and finally he loves the Reeses candy.

History: Alec grew up in the middle of Texas on a ranch because of his hair color paired with his eyes he would often get bullied by the kids in his school they would beat him up,and call him names . His dad, a former Navy SEAL taught him how to fight so he couldn't be bullied anymore. The next time those bullies tried to beat the shit out of him again they were sent to the hospital with broken arms, legs and one's windpipe was almost crushed. Forced to move or have the kids parents sue them his parents decided to move down to Galveston. Almost as soon as they got there his mother blamed his father as he taught him how to fight and filed a divorce and left.

His father instead of turning to the bottle decided to cheer his son up using the skills he knew. He sold their house and bought a boat for them to live on. Alec turned out to love it be picked up on everything his dad taught him navigation day and night, when to push off and when to come into port, the basic seamanship skills. Once Alex got to be about 12 his dad taught him how to free dive and scuba, he picked it up as easily as everything else.

After Alec was able to hold his breath long enough that his dad was comfortable they decided to make money diving and getting trinkets and other valuable objects from sunken ships. Life with his dad was great until one day while they were sailing they hit a storm and the boat started to sink. Alec was able to get to the life boat but his dad caught in the vortex of the sinking boat was pulled under and drowned. Alec was able to swim to the shoreline where a mercenary for us cartel who was formerly trained in Camp Sunshine saw him and being impressed by his swimming skills took him to Camp as a potential recruit.

Name: Dustin Gale
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Nationality: American
Tent: C

Specialty: He is very skilled at tending to injuries, having had to stitch up deep gashes and heal a fractured arm on his own body from working on the farm alone.

Reason for Joining The Sundown Company: To belong to a family and give his life a new cause.

Personality: Relaxed but shy. Dustin may seem standoffish until you get to know him better and he gets more comfortable.

Appearance:

History: He was raised on a farm in Alabama as an only child. At 2 years old his father passed away, causing Dustin's mother to fall into a deep depression. She was still able to keep the farm sustained but as Dustin grew older the farm began to wither. When he turned 18 his mom became too weak to work on the farm anymore, so he became the sole farmer. This went on for a few years. Every sunrise Dustin would go outside to care for what was left of the animals and crops, then return to the house as the sun was setting. During this time Dustin's mom stopped taking care of herself and rarely ever spoke. On his 21st birthday he suggested that they leave the farm and go live in a city. She agreed to this.

After a few months passed by it was time to move out of the farm. As Dustin finished selling the last of their animals and crops, the sun began to set. A loud clap shattered through the warm summer air. He didn't have to enter the house to know what happened. It's not like he wasn't surprised, but he knew how bad her depression was.

His mom was the last thing he was living for, the last piece of his love and drive. After some days of grief he received a recruitment letter in the mail. A former Camp Sunshine camper noticed his extreme work in the farm and saw potential in Dustin. He accepted the recruitment to belong to a family and give his life a new cause.
