Winter had inherited her missing father's love for the arts since she was a young age, but as far as her struggling mother (and by struggling I mean she was struggling with choosing what to do with all of her money) was concerned, there were more important things to worry about. So when Winter was a small child, she wanted to attend a travelling arts festival that was in town at the moment, but her mother refused to put money into something so infertile as a child's momentary happiness. So Winter took to the streets, singing and strumming, to rack up enough money for a ticket inside. She was selected as a random guest to explain why she was there, and to express her opinion in the show, and soon she was playing and singing on stage for the world to see.
Years later, Winter turns down a record deal in order to be a freestyle artist, part for more freedom in what she was to do with her music, and part so her mother wouldn't get a benefit. Not long after, Winter was disowned and had been moved from London to Egypt to live with her eccentric uncle, an archaeologist after myths no one believed. One day, Winter went down to the dig with her uncle, and when he was getting made fun of and pushed around for crazy ideals, Winter stood up for him, admitting she believed. When they called her a child, she began to defend her uncle, and fought back with explaining and making them see the errors of their narrow mindedness. When Winter helped her uncle up, there was a strange necklace in his hand that seemed to call to her. Stranger still, he didn't remember picking it up, but it was in his pocket. The amulet belongs to none other than Goddess of cats, Bast.
Other: Winter is an anonymous artist and record dealer by the name 'Nightingale'; she can easily make a musical instrument out of anything, and she can play just about anything
